If you're still listening to this Masterpiece, you have a good taste in music. 💞👌😊👍
She has a wonderful voice and the performance was great but non of the performers look the least bit happy
thank you hello from Russia
How do you not listen to such simplicity and talent…
Hope just stands there, dress in everyday clothes, no makeup, no stupid dancers or stage theatre. It is just her, her harmonica, her band and a mic. She just stands there singing and it is captivating
she looks like shes wearing some make up
no makeup lol, did you even saw women without makeup? xD
Born 20 years late myself. Interesting to see how the 90s generation differs from generations today. In the music that occurred from the artists/poets living then. I'm sure neighborhoods had their influence.
@@shawnmckendrick5892 so was she ,Hope would have been sensational at Woodstock
Is that what you call it?
She's a beautiful world on her own
And apparently in her own as well...
True
@Well Wishes It's not easy to 'read' what is going on inside her World, but what comes out is beautiful (imo).
You are a poet sir . Thank you
Она была очень красивой, и является великой певицей, я счастлив что могу слушать ее.
There's a timeless quality with Hopes voice and the music. Hope is now 56 years old!
Good that she is still around, though.
So she's 27 here in 1994 captivated in time♥️ good music for the soul♥️
hello from Russia it's great performance
Her voice and this song remind me of some distant memory that I can't quite put a finger on. The closest thing I can come up with is listening to some old 50's or 60's record with my grandma. That still doesn't really hit the mark though. All I know is I'm in awe of Hope and her vocal style.
Say it ain’t so….
Unreal. I listened to Mazzy Star for years, and never wondered what the band looked like. No photos on any of the albums that I saw. Their music just blew me away so much I never stopped to think of them as anything but pure music.
it's not unreal, she's just hot man
Beautiful Song ❤️
Before I let you down again
I just want to see you in your eyes
I would have taken everything out on you
I only thought you could understand
They say everyman goes blind in his heart
And they say everybody steals somebody's heart away
And I got nothing more to say about it
Nothing more than you would me
Send me your flowers, of your december
Send me your dreams, of your candy wine
I got just one thing I can't give you
Just one more thing of mine
They say everyman goes blind in his heart
They say everybody steals somebody's heart away
And I've been wondering why you let me down
And I been taking it all for granted
ok
She's lovely. Just that.
Thank you
we have declined in the quality of song writing over time I think

Big time.
We used to eat acid in the 90s and go out walking around all night. The next morning we would listen to Mazzy Star and rehash the last night. The perfect music to reflect.
It would be nice and easy on the head after 14 hours of turmoil
I listened to this while on ecstasy and my god my heart was not ready for the waves of emotions that would hit.
Walking on that is one of my fav things to do, Mazzy is the day after, very relatable
Ahhhhh, back when we were young and life/music actually had meaning and emotion.
I never stopped. It's my life.
A nostalgic reminder of how we fell in love in 90s... a feeling frozen in time and sound... I was happy once...
You were happy and didn't even know it. "I wish someone would tell you that you're actually in the good old days before you actually leave them"
That's cool. See, Mazzy Star and Hope were always my go to band during break ups in the 90s. Lol
Please find your happiness again. There are billions of flowers and they are all beautiful. Sending you love and light.
Me too, pal.
Same, here.
Strange, how everyone here talks of Hope as if though she's no longer with us. She's still alive, kicking, singing, and is still as beautiful as her age has allowed her to be. Ageism is quite bizarre
What about Mike
She's always my Hope. The art is forever. Loves ma Mazzy Star ⭐
She's what 55 now
@@jonhawkins7510 And?
Yes, she really has kept her beauty and dignity. She will always be beautiful and a very unique singer and woman.
After 30 yrs I'm Still infatuated, still listening and crying
Love her voice. It is so calming and makes you listen to every word she sings. People have no choice but to just listen. Just like a child listening to a lullaby.
Such a soft angelic voice. Wow simply amazing
Everyone talks about Hope...rightfully so..but Dave. Roback was equally as important in my opinion...they were an incredible team...soft words and amazing guitar sounds
To finish her thoughts...one cannot go without the other for me...rip Dave
I agree.
Amen to that. In the 90's I wanted to be Roback. For one, he was guitarist in my favorite band & second, Hope Had been in love with him. Lucky guy.
You make a great point Sean. Dave was crucial to MS. I guess the reason we all focus on hope is because the integration of his guitar is so smooth and flawless it sort of becomes one sound and so many of us MS fans are just hearing the voice and guitar flow as one. He was definitely crucial to MS
@@lechanneldemysterieuxmante1807 With a great band there is a sort of alchemy at work, something that is impossible to predict or replicate. This is why when so many musicians go out on their own because they front a band - or become the poster boy or girl for a band - its just not the same and they are never as successful afterward. There is generally a crucial relationship between two members of a band that seems to be central to their ethos and sound, but in other cases its three or even four that make the mix. Sometimes its a sort of interpersonal turbulence that makes a band what it is, which is why they don't last. (Like the great quote from The Third Man about Switzerland and Italy in the Renaissance) With Mazzy Star, it was the interaction between Dave Roback and Hope Sandoval, the moody lyrics, Hope's mesmerizing, almost hypnotic singing was ideally matched by Roback's fuzzy guitar work. Either one of them without the other was just not the same. But how many bands maintain a great creative pitch over more than two or three albums anyway? Perhaps in the end we are fortunate in that they didn't try to go on and on or to try to commercialize their sound as the label wanted. Better to leave us with some unforgettable music that I believe sounds as good as it did thirty years ago. I first saw them (I think) at a small club in Hollywood with a musician friend visiting from London, not one of the clubs on the strip, but a club closer to Fairfax. The lights were low (as Hope preferred) and she never made any eye contact with the smallish crowd, but the songs were wonderful and her performance seemed to be more powerful because of the introspective, trance-like state she seemed to be in when she sang.
@@lechanneldemysterieuxmante1807
Guitars and guitar playing can be duplicated by other musicians. There's only one Hope .
I can get lost in Hope Sandoval...In fact, I've been lost in Hope since the '90s. Wow, I absolutely love her!
She is a magician and she never gets old.
I'm absolutely in love with this song, with Hope, with this performance... It makes my heart melt down
Her voice had the power to calm me down on a tough day. You're something special☀️
I miss the '90s. I know it's a tragic song, but somehow it transports me to a better time in my life that I miss deeply.
i can’t explain it, but she’s just pure beauty.
Young, pretty, great hair, and offcourse she can sing like an angel. Hard not to be jealous
@Well Wishes No one. Just a joke..remember those?
@Well Wishes A lot of people disagree with me on this but Dave probably spent “time” with her.
@Well Wishes Perhaps 🙂
And to think I never believed in angels
Not young anymore
The most underrated band in history.Hope IS amazing,so beautiful for my eyes.Listen her voice is like go into a black hole...is ...without words
Nah probably the most underrated band is one you haven't heard of.
Here's to all of us that crave a place and time that no longer exists.....
One of the most beautiful performances I’ve ever seen
And in that moment she is the most beautiful person in the world
The DreamGirl of all DreamGirls ❤ Most Beautiful Voice Ever
Real music, by real artists, for real audiences....OMG, i really miss the nineties
Thats what i say about the 70's,it surely feels the same,
Is there fake music by fake artists for a fake audience anywhere on this planet?
Yes today’s crap that’s augmented by autotune, programmed to the same sounds as each other, and an escapade of half naked dancers. Because that’s what makes the most money and that’s all that matters today. Nobody today even deserves to stand in the same room as Hope.
@@ZulcanPrime people watch concerts they go to through their phone these days
She's a beautiful flower she sings from the heart
She has affected so many new singers 20 years later💞💞
Can you give some of the names? love to hear music influenced by MS
@@THarshavardhanReddy Lana Del Rey and Honey Gentry are my favorites that are certainly inspired by Mazzy
о да, например Лана Дел Рей, если бы не она я бы не узнал о Мейзи Стар. Привет из России.
This is what talent sounds and looks like. This is timeless.
I absolutely love her and the band but listening to her makes me want to cry ! There is something so "real" and profound about it that it for me reminds me of the ultimate sadness of life ... Bums here we go again ..
While that's true it also makes that sadness and pain tolerable like a gentle caress. Doesn't make it go away just comforts you in its presence
1994 was an important year for me, and her music reflects it perfectly. I can´t understand how I missed this wonderful artist back in the day.
no phones, no auto tune, melody, the perfect time for those who like real music it was difficult to get your hands on songs but the mainstream was the good stuff the contrary of today
This is the unvarnished truth! It's amazing how great mainstream music in every genre was during this period! It was an awesome period for music lovers!
🤣🤣🤣
@@MisfitoX why you laughing?
dude there is plenty of amazing, current music. tbh just look beyond top 40! but i also agree that i loooove this no phone concert vibe.
@@meghansullivan6812 thats what i said before the mainstream was the good stuff now the mainstream is horrible
One of the most under rated bands that made great music. Hard not to be captivated by the vocals of one unique artist
Wow...totally mesmerising!!... Such a hauntingly beautiful voice!!
It's December of 2023 and I still need this.
I’m in love with Hope. She is mesmerizing
I could listen to her all day.
We are mere poet songwriters, so precious to the soul, the spirit, with every word uttered in silence - Robert Bickford.
One of my favourite Mazzy songs. As for Hope, IMO a more beautiful woman has not stood on stage - before or since.
I miss the 90's 😭 '94 was a great year for music in general!
A beautiful song, can make a very bad day end with a peaceful sunset
Dang, she's hypnotizing! ♥
This Is The First Time I've listen to this young lady Mazzy Star,Her Beautiful Voice Will Take Away Like Somewhere Past Jupiter Somewhere, She Has Such A Very AWESOME Sound,❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hauntingly beautiful and transcendent
shes so raw it's inspiring
Talking about a song that is speaking directly to my soul. Wow !!!!
The most perfect song of my teens and it still makes me teary
So nice! I feel that Lana del Rey has been inspired by her style
Lana is another under appreciated artist.
@@fixedit8689 …
@@fixedit8689 she is quite literally one of the most popular female artists on Earth right now...
@@deadinfebruary Yeah, and tbh, Lana took this style and Hope’s-“esque” n made it her own.
I've always had the same feeling
One of my favorite singers dating back to the 90's..I go back to Melanie during my service days late 69 early 70's. Mazzy has wowed me like only Melanie could.
Terrified of crowds.
Still does this.
Hope is a legend.
Easy brings me 2 my happy place. Every single one of their songs together. Love them, RIP💞
Easily the most beautiful woman of all time I think.
I know man. Her voice is amazing. Her passion is such a turn on. Shes a siren in my dreams.
@@wchurchill419 nobody asked for your turn on. can we please not sexualize women by default
@@sandras2624 oh shut up. It was a compliment. Nobody was sexualizing anything Karen. The compliments were about her voice and passion. Fk right off
her face is like an angel , so pure so beautiful, and still now at 55 and her voice ... oh damn i m in love of a woman in 1994 lol im fucked up
@@sandras2624 I agree with you. The "male groupie" comments are tacky and in poor taste. These guys need to listen to music with their ears instead of their genitals.
I was in Love with Hope Sandoval in the 90s, I still am but I was back then too. and Roback, well, I doubt these songs would have happened with out him.
I just fell in love, really! 🥰
Tubers who put the actual date and location on things are the best Tubers 🙏
"Send me your flowers, of your December/ Send me your dreams, of your candy wine". Beautiful! 💖
SO BEAUTIFUL BOTH LOOKS AND VOICE OMG
My first time listening to cute melodies. And am already in love❤❤
Best female singer my opinion (but she definitely better then todays singers)
What beautiful song ..❤
The most beautiful voice I ever heard sing.
Such a cool presence and simplicity.
I love this song. The live version here is so great!
How can anyone be this talented and this beautiful?
i love hope :-) she’s so unique and talented !! i’m so thankful for her music
Oof. The musical rabbit hole led me here tonight, during a time rife with emotional difficulties. This was challenging to listen to, but I'm grateful that I did.
She’s ethereal literally and the music as well. Speechless
Soooo we are in december again, folks! Time to rock this master piece.
I can't stop playing this song on the guitar, thank you Dave.
Played this again tonight.
I hope I never forget this song.
The Am is as fun as the variant D riff.
I've certainly gone blind in my heart.
Finally back on UA-cam..thanx
Beautiful....pure, raw, unprocessed, beauty.
HAPPY YEAR FOR YOU FROM CHILE I LOVE HOPE TOO...
This is a very beautiful song. I bought the album on CD and I play it many times.
You are wonderful! And the band!!!! AMAZINGGGGGGG!! !! All my love from Brazil!!!! Xxxx
I fall in love every time I see Hope.
This song is too beautiful for words...
I was today years old when I learned that it’s possible to be jealous of a harmonica
@Well Wishes It's a joke.
It's referring to how many male fans of Mazzy Star have wanted to kiss Hope, and the harmonica used here got closer to her mouth than any of those men ever will.
@Well Wishes you fool
🤣🤣🤣 literally
The first time in human history ANYONE would be jealous of a harmonica. Bravo, my good fellow, this comment wins 👏
Yep, definitely envious of her harmonica. 😂
Something mesmerizing about her
Hypnotic...
Its called integrity.
Love you Hope Sandoval
... Greetings from Philippines 🇵🇭
Wish I could have experienced this live...but every time, I feel like I am there!
Absolutely beautiful!
Fancied her big time back in the day. Never listened to her music, but she was all over music magazines back then.
3:03 few know the strength needed as a band, to power through a slow set at a daytime festival. They totally killed it, surrounded by comfy white-shirts.
Beautiful and talented ❤️ 😍 👏 💖 💕 ✨️
2022 amazing music I love it 😍
Wow this is some thirty years. That's amazing
Ah this song makes u fall in love
Maldición la amo. Donde estuvo esta banda que no la había escuchado !!
I think Hope Sandoval is terrific and the Mazzy Star band if perfect for her singing.
True artists... thank you...
I ALWAYS LISTEN TO HER IN THE NINETIES IN CHILE, I FEEL SO MUCH NOSTALGIC FROM THOSE YEARS ONES OMG
This song hits pretty deep. Love you Hope Sandoval. ❤
Anxiety today. This calmed me down :)

Ditto!
Still here, as I've never left..
Where is someone to go from here…
It's a sunny day there but the song is so dark an gloomy it's captivating.
