What I would’ve given to know all of this growing up. My hallucinations started young also. I was just diagnosed recently. I am 48 years old. So many years of wanting to die. So many years fearing the world around me and covering up my symptoms with humor. I cried when the Dr told me the diagnosis. He said “I know you are not lying about any of this”. I bawled.
So much validation in one sentence.
    Decades of self harm.
    Fighting suicidal thoughts.
Growing up I was denied meds and treatment by my mom who I also learned recently, has always had the same symptoms. Even as a child.
All those years of feeling alone and had she just spoke up it would’ve saved me so much pain and suffering.
Thank you for making these videos.
I can’t find anyone with experience of schizophrenia where I live so these videos help a ton.🩶

Thank you for this Video !! My Nephew has Schizophrenia. He just finally found the Meds that help him !! I pray he can lead a better happier life now!! My Husband has Bipolar but he really has a hard time admitting it. In 2019 he started hearing voices but It wasn't until after he quit drinking cold turkey, he was a alcoholic for 30 years. I really think him quitting is what started the Voices. He's on Meds now but he still hears them at times. Especially when his sleep gets messed up really bad.

Getting diagnosed with schizophrenia was the best thing to happen to me too. For years I had only allowed myself to eat a tuna fish sandwich for lunch and elbow macaroni for dinner. When I got to the hospital, everyone complained about the food, but there was so much variety that the food seemed incredible! Every meal was like a gourmet dinner. Plus, they had breakfast! It was amazing! Plus, the meds helped later

First of all, I want to say a big thanks for this video. I really admire your recovery strength.
What kind of meds are administered to schizophrenic patients? My teenage cousin suddenly begins to exhibit all these symptoms of schizophrenia, and here in Africa, everyone just comes with a pastor to pray for her because they think it's a spiritual attack. Some people call her an ogbanje, but I now know for certain that her condition is an illness that can be managed with medical science.

I am not a doctor but people with schizophrenia often take antipsychotics. Not all do. But many do.

Your channel is way better than living well with schizophrenia one. You actually are raw honest ans unafraid snd dont try to polish up your videos for excess views but really focus on the story

Great info. I gotta say that insight varies from person to person and a lot of people don't come to a realization on their own. I sure didn't, it took a med change to get me to a better place in terms of insight and it's still not perfect.

It’s different for everyone. My story isn’t that simple. This is a sample of my life.

My brother i care for. He is always defending his durning his hallucinations. It usually childhood friends.
We have him on working meds from now. I dont allow them to give him anything for the manic. Thats part of his personality.
He never has depression. In fact he believes he's famous!

Also my brother takes the meds for family. He don't believe they work. He just wants to rock n roll. I have to monitor meds.
