California is the first U.S. state to outlaw the sale and manufacture of new fur products.
Despite the law, LCA has busted several retailers for selling new fur, including luxury brand Stefano Ricci located in Beverly Hills. Stefano Ricci agreed to “immediately cease any unlawful sales” and they stopped selling fur online to California residents.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, which is tasked with enforcing the California fur ban, ignored LCA's complaints, so LCA was forced to take enforcement action.

Something wrong with the authorities; A nice and big fine should be brought on these retailers. As far as I know when you break the law you either go to jail or pay a big fine. Thank you LCA for shutting this down.👍.

In this day and age there is absolutely no reason to wear fur. We can buy faux fur that looks like the real thing. Thank you LCA for doing such a great job on behalf of the animals‼️

Thank you Rikki Rocket and LCA for standing up to those who disobey the law and defending animals who cannot defend themselves. When my 92 y/o mother passed away in 2022 I gave her 3 fur coats a burial ceremony, it was the only thing I could do for those who died 50 years ago. 😞
Everyone can contribute to combating the fur industry.
Years ago i always send a fashion catalogue that i received (containing some clothing with fur) back to the sender, unopened and with a note stating that i rejected fur.
So they had to pay the postage costs every time.
I kept that up for a long time until i finally no longer received a catalogue.
Afterwards they stopped selling fur items!
