Hey Jacob!! We glad you are enjoying thus series! Sometimes new board games shine bright , then fade quickly. We really make every effort to give credit where credit is due. Great board games will stand the test of time , and we try to direct focus on those games. We agree with you. Thank you for watching and commenting Jacob!!😊❤️
A lot of top 10 lists I just skim through them see the games. I always watch your whole lists because the passion you have for these games and this hobby really shines through. Game on!
Hey Scott 👋!! Your kindness is appreciated. We find it very easy to be passionate about games we love and believe in. ❤️ We spend hundreds of hours playing these board games 🎲, to make sure , as we can be , they will stand the test of time. Thank you for watching and commenting Scott ☺️ ❤️ 🙏 ♥️!! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
I love this tribute to the games that have made the hobby what it is today. Great way to cap off a wonderful series! As always, thank you for the content! Also, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 😊
Thank you so much for the kind words which are our reward for the work and effort that we put into this list. We do love those top 10 games and would be satisfied if that was the extent of our library. Newer isn’t always better. Thanks for watching and comment.
Hi, some great suggestions there. I play board games one evening a week with a small group of work colleagues sometimes there are three of us but mostly 4-5. We only have about 3 hours so don’t have time for any big expansive games. We regularly play wingspan, ticket to ride, 7 wonders and catan. We’ve played pandemic but we’re not so keen on the co-op aspect (no single winner lol!) dominion definitely looks like one to try. What I like most about your list is the games are accessible. Many of the other UA-camrs are more serious gamers and the games they put forward are complicated, long and often kickstarter special editions that are not widely available. Many thanks for your video, I’ll have a look back through your previous lists to get some recommendations. Hope you had a great holiday however you celebrated it!
Orleans is a great option for 2-5 players. 90-120 minutes. It introduces a “bag building” mechanic, like Dominion, but with worker placement. Another great choice is Raiders of the North Sea. Worker placement that plays easily under 1 hour.
Hey Maff! You are correct about UA-camrs embracing overly complex and over produced games. In many cases , they receive money from publishers to do so. We don't receive any kind of monies in any form , for doing this channel. So there isn't any outside influences to colour our opinion. It's great to hear you have a gaming group , where you can enjoy some of the great games , of this hobby. Happy New Year to you !! Thank you for watching and commenting Maff!!☺️❤️
Hey Maru!! It sure must sound as if Target is my favorite game store 😂! However, it's just because my granddaughter drags me in there constantly and while I'm in there , with her , I check out their game section. Thank you for watching and commenting Maru!!
Thanks. Dominion is my #1. Love the look of the original COB. Pandemic was an instant flop for our group. Maybe I will try the Iberia version some time, as it's setting and colors look much more appealing. Subscribed.
Hey Ryan!! Dominion is so smooth , it's beautiful in its simplicity. Cooperative games , like Pandemic, are not for everyone. When I was a boy , I enjoyed adventuring with my friends , in rural Ohio , and I think that's why cooperative games suit my personality. We love Iberia also. Thank you for watching and commenting , and subscribing Ryan! Happy New Year!!🥳
Thanks so much to both of you Mr & Mrs Bones. Another great series that is full of passion and positivity. I found your approach to the top 100 fascinating and was surprised to see your top 10 as games you felt were objectively the best or most influential or most important for introducing folk to the hobby. I feel there’s still room for your personal, biased, games you love the most right now top 10. I mean you said it- Carpe Diem is one you personally love more than Castles of Burgundy. Love back to you from across the big pond.
Hey Richard!! 👋 As always , kind words like those , keep us motivated to continue this channel. I'm thinking about your suggestion to do a video , with Lori , of OUR top 10 favorite board games. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. May 2024 bring you peace , joy , and prosperity 🙏! As always , thank you for watching and commenting Richard!😊🧓👩🦳🤶🎅❤️❤️❤️
Wingspan is amazing, but by now there's so many cards, it can feel daunting to shuffle them all haha because there's NO WAY I'm separating out the expansion cards after.
Hey Joseph! We play Wingspan with just the base game. It seems that's enough for us. Try not to overdo it with expansion material. We have a 230 game library , so quite a bit of time passes between plays. By the time we get back around to it , the base game feels new. Thank you for watching and commenting Joseph ☺️ ❤️!!
@@bonescollector5367 I like to keep Wingspan in its pure form, but I have added the European expansion. It only changes the base game a skosh. And all those beautiful bird cards - I couldn't say no!
Hey Joseph! There are a lot of people who don't enjoy cooperative gaming. Fortunately , there are board games for many styles of play. When I was a young boy , I loved 😍 adventuring and exploring with my friends. I think that carried over into my adult life , and manifested itself in my gaming taste. Cooperative games are not for everyone. Thank you for watching and commenting Joseph!☺️❤️❤️
Hey Stasia!! Your kind words are always appreciated 💛. We hope your holiday season and New Year bring you joy , good health , and prosperity. Thank you for watching and commenting Stasia!!
2 Player Rules for 7 Wonders is excellent. I had no idea the new edition removes those rules. I'm glad I have my old copy! I actually prefer 7 Wonders at 2 over Duel but they're both enjoyable experiences!
Hey DrMetalpin!! 7 Wonders Duel is definitely popular , however , we simply prefer the original base game , with the 2 player variant more. Thank you for watching and commenting Dr.!!
Castles of Burgundy is really an AMAZING game... [and don't forget its little brother, Castles of Tuscany.] It really deserved a deluxe reprint, despite STILL not being a perfect reprint [I think the yellow tiles are still hard to read] it's worth getting if you LOVE the game.
Hey Joseph 👋! I can't say too many great things Castles of Burgundy! It is simply one of the best board games ever created. We also enjoy and own , Castles of Tuscany. Thank you for watching and commenting Joseph ☺️ ❤️ 🙏!!
Hey Angel!! Chess is the greatest board game 🎲 ever! I've played it many times during my life. You have to be smart to be good at chess , and I'm not.😆 We've never played GO , but I will someday soon. Happy New Year 🥳 Thank you for watching and commenting Angel!!❤️❤️😊
Fantastic Top 10 list! Love that you're highlighting many classics when it's so easy to fall into the trap of the "Cult of the New"! (We just bought Patchwork for my in-laws! They're going to love it, I'm sure!) 🧵🪡
Hey Dave!! We absolutely love ❤️ those games in our top 10! If you've been watching this series , you've seen the wonderfully designed and published games , that we have in our library. However , if we could only keep 10 games , the games in our top 10 , would be the ones we would keep , and we would play them all the way to the grave.☺️ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Dave! Thank you for watching and commenting!❤️❤️
I tried Summer Pavilion but thought it was too difficult... maybe I'm just not an expert! I liked Queen's Garden better for sure. Base azul I found out I was playing wrong for years! We played that if you began a collection row in one color, you could not start collecting the same color on a different row until the next round. Apparently that's not a restriction!
Hey Joseph! We have played all the versions and enjoyed them all. Your method for playing base Azul would definitely make it more challenging! We play Summer Pavilion when we want a little more spice in the game.
I did the same thing with Dominion: got a nice wooden insert, and FILLED it with three expansions and a few promos, organized alphabetically. I don't feel any need yet for more expansions because there's an insane amount of variability already. I use an iphone app to randomize what decks we use per game.
Hey Jospeh! Totally agree with you. We have used the randomized app as well. So far we haven’t felt the need for more expansions. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’d suggest watching all of the other videos. He kind of put his top 10 of several different categories throughout. Highly suggest checking them out, some really deep cut gems!
I'm not a huge can of Catan although I do have Catan Germany which I do enjoy. Catan however is totally replaced by Keythedral which is sadly out of print.
I really do agree with the opinion that more accessible and most importantly FUN games belong at the top of anyone’s Top 10. It’s those games that I can get in front of the people I love that might not be gamers and share my hobby with. I’ve done lists like this on Instagram for about the last 5 years and always felt that I needed to have the more complex euros at the top. But this past year I realized the game I have the most fun playing (and one I didn’t see on your list!) is Rudger Dorn’s “Luxor” and made it my #1. I never tire of it and have introduced it to a ton of people. Rudger Dorn is one I always watch out for! Thanks for the list! I must say the multiple games at one number got a little confusing but it started to make more sense. But I’m a purist who prefers just one game at each number. 😊
Hey Paul! 👋 We used to have Luxor in our library. Regrettably , we sold it. We had some special components in it , also. Replacing it will be difficult. Everyone makes mistakes and selling Luxor is one of ours. 😬 We decided to have multiple games in some slots , to be able to highlight more games. Dice 🎲 Tower has 7 employees do a too 100 list this year and I believe that's 700 games. I only have one employee , my wife Lori , who is also , my editor , camera man , and gaming partner. I understand the video series was a departure from the traditional , and maybe we'll rethink it next year. Thank you for watching and commenting Paul!! Happy New Year!! May 2024 bring you joy , peace , good health , and prosperity. ❤️❤️
I found two rare Patchwork games: China and Taiwan. It's a great game but I WISH it could play 3 players. In fact, I have tried using variants and two boxes of tiles to play it 3 players and it works ok I guess...
I have Carcassonne with some small expansions in the 20th anniversary box [wonderful printing!!] I also have Hunters & Gatherers, South Seas, The City, and Zamek [the Polish edition of The Castle] and I love them all.
