This piece of music by legendary Alhaji Haruna Ishola, doyen of Apala music was waxed probably in 1972 and it held sway then as it was an household album in most of Yoruba big cities in Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo and it was birthed as a result of heavy and bitter rivalry between him and Kasumu Adio, another Apala musicians from same hometown, Ijebu - Igbo in present OGUN STATE of Nigeria. Kasumu Adio was commissioned by Alhaji Sanu Olu, a record label owner and record seller to sign abusive songs to Alhaji Haruna Ishola purposely on business rift between Alhaji Haruna Ishola and Alhaji Gani Sanu Olu. Fighting through music between musicians makes their records sells heavily as they wax records to reply each other.
Haruna was more than a musician but a metaphor of music.
Rest on, Baba.
