Holy cow, E. You are my main man! At least for the rest of the year!!!😄 My number 0ne. My hero! Maybe now I'm gettin'g nuts, but...I sincerely thank you! I THANK YOU..SINCERELY! 🎶💚☮🎶🌟
With electronic music the Polks seem more impressive but when it got to the jazz piece at around 6:30, it became clear the Miccas reproduce sound more accurately and with a better soundstage. Same again at 9:40 with the classical violin piece. After long continuous listening, I think the Miccas would be easier on the ears as well.
Oh man, fantastic review! For me the definitory minute is 14:00, oh man that treble on the Polk XT15 is exaggerated!! I much prefer the RB42 for rock/metal music, and better yet; its size is more convenient for a desktop. If I want a bigger speaker I'll go with the Sony SSCS5 over the XT15 without second guessing, in your other video I could hear how the Sony destroys the Polk.
Those were T15 and this are XT15. The Sony were better than T15 but I think the XT15 are better than the Sony. Both have too much bass for my taste and distort a little (at least in the videos)
@@hipidipi20157maxyou're right; it's XT15 not T15. And yeah, right now I have the Micca Rb42 and I'm satisfied with its sound, just the volume is not so loud but maybe my amplifier lacks power, idk.
Both these little budget gems sound good to me with the A-S301. It's straining a bit to push the RB42's, little power pigs that they are, but they sound reasonably similar to how they sound in my system, and the XT15's sound good too, and just different enough to be the next little budget beauties to switch off with the Micca's once in a while, while my system is still in a compact space. Thanks for your help. E, Project!
I like the Polk more. The Micca sounds more rolled off on top, and the Polk is more open and clearer sounding, with better dynamics, punchier bass and airier and more extended highs. It sounds much more balanced with the Yamaha, and doesn't have that muffled midrange like with the Arcam. Polk has been redeemed, and I'll bet the ES20 will sound that much better with the Yamaha too. Yamaha saves the day again! All this time I've been criticising the Polk speakers and it was the Arcam all along.
Hah! I told you the Polks wern't bad! Not sure theyre better than the Micca's. The RB42 is slightly more refined to me, but not much The Polks have a drop more open top end. Perfect contrast. Just what I was looking for for the right price! So cool. Thanks for asking him again. I didnt see it.
@@DougMen1 I do think the Yamaha is working much harder to drive the Miccas, and a touch of that may be showing up. You need 90 watts to drive them properly. 60''s a couple bucks short.
Resolution for the X15's got more depth, space and outlining vocals and instruments. For me, bass could be more present at times. The RB12's do a nice job too, easy on the ears, enough detail, less spatious, but nice bass. Both OK options, imo.
After trying and sending both back ( nit great - ok ) I settled on OSD Nero 5 speakers - under $80.00, 5 1/4 inch woofer / hot on top - cut the treble -4 DB and they sound awesome.
These Mica should be good with the SMSL DA-9 which should give your sound an opening and clearing. Because they have the middle and upper region more closed, effaced, dead. The bass is excellent for a box this size and with a woofer of only 4 inches. But an Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 with its 5-inch woofer is far superior to this Micca. It's another sound level/level. The sound is much more open, airy, crystal clear, transparent, alive with Elac. Only in the bass that Mica can compete and not be embarrassed.
To me, the RB42 sounds more like real music. In every case, for me, the Miccas are more musical... more like what I expect the actual recording sounds like.

So, are you gonna get a pair from Adorama, right there in NYC?
I am very appreciated for everything what you are doing here!!! Thank you so much
@@DougMen1 May do.
@@williammiebach1798 If you want to snag a pair at $129 instead of $149, the sales may end after New Year's

Enjoy your videos! Excellent presentations! Do you have a sound battle between Micca MB42x and RB42's?
Hey E, You are Rock.....can you make sound comparisons video on center channel speaker or Floor standing speaker
I have some center channel speakers. but the size of floor standing speakers are to big for me. maybe later... thanks.
Can I use deonon avr1600 as saround saund
The Guitar last song i could hear the biggest differences and i like the RB42

XT15 sounds more balanced and smooth
We need an RB42, SSCS5, Q150 desktop speaker shootout..

I think the RB42s are a bit flatter, but also a bit drier.
XT 15 sounded more open and spacious.
I have the old Polk T-15s - which the XT-15s replace - and have had to problems with them.
Polk for the win, as always.
rb42 in bass sound better more kicking

I dont hear any difference but I dont know or like the music. There is too much bass on both to almost give a headache.
