this game was just so damn cool - the cars, the decals, the varied challenges of the campaign, the amazingly evocative environments, the music (omg the music) - it was just the perfect hot wheels power fantasy

They must've been born in the 80's, 'cause video game consoles in general didn't start getting mainstream 'til like, the Mid 90's. Going to a local arcade was more popular before then. My Boomer parents didn't really have video games or even anime growing up, besides Speed Racer. I was born in 1996, right when video game consoles and anime was starting to get mainstream in the Western World.
Seeing this game again finally, puts me at an odd yet comfortable peace. I've consistently had thoughts and memories of these levels ever since i was a kid. I would love to play this game one more time before my ps2 goes out. But luckily i took care of my 2nd gen so it should be a while

honestly, what an incredible childhood game. looks amazing on a PS2 (or xbox if you're one of those guys), you can make your cars look however you want with so many cool decals and wheels, play against CPUs that dont rubberband like crazy, play through challenges and beat your scores... bought this game again after losing it a couple years back. coming in the mail in 2 days!

Was this game on pc by any chance? I remember when my older brother turned 15, my parents gifted him a pc, which he would let me play this game on. I remember spending hours on the same stage lol. I don’t think I knew what I was doing, but I still have very vivid memories from when I was like 6 of playing this.
😔I wish Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge was released in Nintendo Gamecube; just like Playstation 2, Xbox, PC, and Gameboy Advance. And also Hot Wheels Velocity X and World Race: Highway 35. 😔However, it never happened and never will.
