Identity is funny. Ben's mom is Peruvian (Quechua) allegedly and Italian last name Banda. His dad is a German American actor thus the name Bratt. His mother took him to the Indian Uprising in Alcatraz of all tribes in 1969. I'm not clear what tribe Ben represented .Our mutual friend, McCrae told me Ben experienced " O Kee Pa" Suspension (Buffalo Dance). Where wooden stakes are driven into the chest and they are suspended. Which was culturally appropriated ritual since the tribe was all but wiped out by the generous gifts of polio ridden blankets from the whtyeman . I worked with Ben's cousin Georgia and she had the most beautiful blue eyes. In high school Ben hung out with the white kids that gave him his" placa "scarecrow". He went to Berkeley and was in a Fraternity like most Latinos did, right. He dated Julia Roberts the wytest women in the world. To top it off Ben and Peter made a movie about gang life in La MISSION. They weren't HOMIES. But , the Gay issue had to be injected into the mix. And named the character "CHE" ,wtf, Instead he should have done a movie called 'LA CASTRO" the story of gays in SF. Now that would have been more inline with his peeps. And to all you ladies that thin k he is fine. You are seeing his fine European features and him being very tall. Now , Cheech that's more real. Honor yourselves not the images you are fed. Stop idolizing these attention hungry Millionaire sellouts. Learn about yourself. The real homie!
