Did mine, had a few bubbles in the crease from me not putting enough pressure there, but they worked themselves out after 2-3 folds during normal use. Crazy that screen protector kit is as cheap as it is for what it comes with
I work at a samsung repair center (won't disclose what company) and this makes the factory screen protector and application tool they give us look barbaric. If you ever need to get your film replaced on your Z Fold, DO NOT go to a repair location. Send it in to Samsung or use this kit. You will have a much cleaner look.
I went to a certified repair shop, got it replaced and it started peeling up in the middle 2 days later. They did it again for free but same problem and they mentioned the holder they have doesn't work right too. Used this one myself and it's been perfect for going on a month now.
Plan to buy Whitestone Dome Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 inner screen protector becue I got bubbles top and bottom of middle of screen start to enoying me, my fold4 is 366 days old, I forget I had warranty for a year.
Thanks for the video! I think you applied this film couple of months ago.... Is it still in a good condition? Factory film started to peel off from my phone and getting a replacement from Samsung its a nightmare on my country...
Hey, luv the video and just subscribed. I'm a year into my phone, the screen protector is starting to come off. So I can just follow your instructions to replace? I was afraid the actual screen was coming off.
@@TechOut was wondering if you would devulge were to get the tool you lay the phone in to hold the fold? Greatly appreciate this video. My screen got lint in it in the middel and slowly started seperating from their. This ideo is best replace video I have seen so far.
So you mentioned you did this to all of your folds - do these protectors end up peeling over time and needing further replacements, or are they pretty consistent? I got my Fold 4 secondhand about 8 months ago. Its protector was bubbling already from the first owner, so the first thing I did was get that replaced by Asurion. Fast forward 8 months, it's bubbling again. If I have to keep replacing the screen protector once or twice a year, I don't know if I want to stick with folds - just one more thing on top of the cost, mediocre cameras and battery life, and durability. But if these actually stay down well, I wouldn't mind doing this once per phone.
I’ve put these on 3 or 4 times over the phones I’ve had an have never had to replace them. I mean these are like $20 I’d replace it once a year either way just to have a fresh one.
Great vid, but I wouldn't have used the alcohol wipe on it right after you laid down the new screen-it could have found its way around the edges and loosened the adhesive over time...just my observation. 17 months for mine and no issues with the OEM yet-but I know I am out of the free replacement warranty from Samsung (1yr free screen replacement)
ugh. I'm gonna have to buy another one and try again. idk if they changed the design, but there doesn't seem to be a top part to the screen protector that peels off on mine. The end detached easily at the bottom part. But the end that says "top" wouldn't detach and I ended up having to cut it with scissors and its an absolute mess.
After reading some Amazon reviews I cancelled my order. They've clearly changed the product without updating the instructions. And it also seems to be inferior to the one you used because it fails to stick in the crease.
I bought it to replace my initial screen it bubbled again 2 weeks later. Any way to prevent this from happening again? I have another one to replace again but want to make sure I do correctly this time. I did notice that the screen protector is up a little to high which may be the reason for the bubble forming due to the location of the phone folding aperture thingy majiggy.
@@TechOut I believe I found the root cause to my issue which was using isopropyl alcohol and clorox toclean my phone. I think it's too strong and seeps into the adhesive. I put a new one on, going to see how long it last.
when Iry to take my screen protector on My zfold bog screen. the screen starts to turn black.. it originally started to bubble one days I oush the bubbles down ringing it still . that is when the screen first started to turn black. is there a way to fix this.
How bad is it if I decide to just use my fold 4 without the inner film protector? My factory one started bubbling and I just took it off completely an hour ago. I ordered this whitestone but it isn't for another 2 days
Is that the amazon link you bought yours or a link for the same protector "if" you buy from amazon because the reviews are shocking and knowing amazon has so many clone shops that sell knock off stuff maybe your link is a knock off shop?
Actually its a flim only not a tempered glass , im wondering that how the flim protects the phone rather than the tempered glass. Sir i have one doubt regarding the screen protector, Few days before i bought an z fold 4 does it required to paste a flim or not
There are no tempered glass screen protectors for the inner display thats not possible it would crack. Yes you need to have a screen protector on the inside in my opinion it should come with one from the factory.
@@velmani3518 It comes with one from the factory. You don't need to do anything until the factory protector starts lifting. If it does, don't keep folding it or your screen can break due to increased stress from the failing protector. Replace it immediately.
Hi, my screen protector has de-laminated on the fold. When taken to a Samsung repair centre, they need to book The phone in for 2 weeks as the entire screen needs to be replaced.
I used this, was very happy with the result, but it lasted about 2 months, and then it bubbled all the way down the crease. Very disappointed. Now I don't know whether I should try this again or something else.
@TechOut could you give some clarity to this? Is it a smoother feeling screen/ more responsive? I'm debating getting one but not sure it's worth the effort as I have no issues with the stock screen besides maybe the amount of dust it collects lol
On the Fold 4, the factory screen protector began to come up in the fold of the screen after 8 months from new. It started at the top of the screen (in the fold) and then after several days and about 5 folds it worked it's way down the length of the screen. I have one of the only Samsung stores in the US nearby (where I happened to purchase it) so I took it into them to replace it. The 2nd screen protector looked identical to the factory version. It last 4 months before it exhibited the exact same behavior. I then began to inquire about this issue and a version 4 of the technology. The manager said they didn't have a history of this happening on the previous versions (1, 2, or 3) and have noticed it has been something they've noticed with the 4. I asked about the 5 and he said they have not noticed it yet. Being that the 5 has only been out for 2 months that is really not data to go on. Samsung needs to fix this. It's an issue that should not happen. If they are just going to act like it isn't an issue and just sweep it under the rug then they should at least sell the screens for people to be able to replace themselves. Come to find out the in house techs at the Samsung official store are actually "IFixIt" employees. I was thinking I was getting a direct solution when I took it to the store however that is not the case. Don't waste your time and extra drive if you think that. I love the phone, baby it, consciously limit the number of times I fold it per day, don't let it sit in extremely hot environments (or cold for the matter). If keeping the phone open most of the day is the cause of this then that is the behavior that I have been exhibiting for those taking notes. I'd love to see if there is someone who has the same experience (of going through 2 of the Samsung applied screen protectors in 1 year) I've had who pays no attention to how often the fold it (and actually keeps it closed most often).
