  • The session would discuss the relevance of a relatively lesser-known but fundamental text of Hinduism called the Ashtavakra Gita at a time of global conflict and focus on the personal experience of the transformative and redeeming power of the text amidst the turmoil, grief, and uncertainty that is the fate of human life.
    About the Speaker - Dr. Hindol Sengupta, a decorated historian and author with 12 acclaimed books, has garnered numerous awards including the Wilbur Award for "Being Hindu" in 2018 and the Valley of Words prize for "The Man Who Saved India" the same year. His biography "Sing, Dance and Pray" earned him the Kalinga Literature Festival prize in 2022. Shortlisted for the Hayek Prize for "Recasting India," Dr. Sengupta's contributions extend beyond writing, recognized with the PSF prize for public service in 2015. Trained in filmmaking, international relations, and business, he holds a doctorate from the Geneva School of Diplomacy and is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
