Garner should be higher than Walsh and Holding. Walsh had longevity and Holding had pace but Garner was deadly accurate and most importantly, the most difficult bowler to play for any batsman and his average reflects it. Only Marshall has a better bowling average than Garner. It has been 37 years since Garner retired and he is still ranked as the top ODI bowler. Extremely difficult bowler to play with accuracy and deadly Yorkers and the closest one to him was Ambrose. They both had the height which made their deliveries difficult to play. My top 5 would be Maco, Ambrose, Garner, Roberts and Walsh. Roberts is the pioneer of the modern WI fast bowling and they didn’t call him “ Hitman” for nothing. Roberts and Holding along with Daniel made the Indian team cry in Jamaica in 1975 and made To y Greig regret what he said about them groveling in the 1976 England tour. Roberts should be higher up than Walsh for the sheer impact he brought and also the first Antiguan to play for WI. But Garner should be #3. Or at least on my list he is 😀
Pretty decent line up. Lots to choose from. Mine isn’t much different. 1. Marshall 2. Ambrose 3. Holding 4. Hall 5. Garner 6. Croft 7. Charlie Griffith. 8. Walsh 9. Roberts 10. Bishop. Marshall is obviously the GOAT.
@@thereversescoopUSA You’re right. Apologies. No Sir. Charlie Griffith in for Kemar. I like Kemar but I can’t picture him as a WI Bowling Legend. He continues to be picked bcuz we don’t have anyone else atm
Agreed, but he will end up with better numbers than most West Indian great fast bowlers from the past. But you also have to admire the longevity of Kemar. Lasting close to 100 test as a bowler is no east feat. That is why Courtney Walsh is regarded as one of the best, is because of his endurance and longevity. But I can see Charlie Griffith in there for sure, also maybe Patrick Paterson.
@@thereversescoopUSA That’s fair. His longevity is impressive but I maintain that if we had the depth now that we had back then he wouldn’t still be playing. Plus! Walsh could devastate any batting line up on any track till retirement. If Kemar doesn’t get a helpful track….licks.
Greatest west indies fast bowlers: 1. Malcolm Marshall 2. Andy Roberts 3. Michael holding 4. Joel Garner 5. Colin croft 6. Courtney Walsh 7. Curtly Ambrose 8. Wes Hall 9. Ian bishop
@@thereversescoopUSA yeah! But he is not a fast bowler, he is a fast medium bowler. Just lucky to have all those wickets because he played so many test matches 🙄do you see anyone in your comments recommending him. He is forgotten. Lol 😆🤣😂😹😆
@@ianbynoe6515 Its persistence and commitment, which he has been rewarded for. I respect him for the fact that he chose Test cricket over other formats.

@Abraracourix awesome top 5, and thanks for sharing some awesome history.
@@Abraracourix Got it, love your points here. Perhaps Garner should have been higher

Wavell hinds was the man of the match in that series clinching victory over india
That's correct. Thanks for playing. Let us know your thoughts on these rankings.
@@thereversescoopUSA I agree with you but may be bishop ahead of roach
Awesome, thank you for your feedback. Do check out our other rankings on West Indies cricket.
Take out 🪳 and your list will be ok. I would go for patto. Just for his speed.
Yea, but Roach is closing in on 300 test wickets and getting close to playing 100 tests. Not many with that sort of achievementim todays day and age..
