Oh, and nowadays she's in her 60s, and is still out there rocking. She'd starting a tour in mid-2021 that will continue into 2022.
Just saw her, best sounding singer of all 4 bands that performed. That includes Def Leppard, Poison, and Motley Crue
Saw that tour on July 21st of 2022. The tone deaf couple in front of me sounded better than Vince Neil (when we could actually hear him), low bar there. Bret Michaels still sounds decent. Joe Elliott can still hit those notes, he just can't hold them like he could even five years ago. Joan still rocks like she's forty years younger. I really hope to see her again somewhere down the road as a headliner.

definitely, not only incredible talent but she was in a bad place and strong enough to get herself out and move on to even more success after dealing with that.
When Joan Jett first appeared on the scene many people were surprised that a woman could sound as loud and as angry as a male heavy metal lead singer.
She proved that a female stage act could be just as hard driving as Metallica or Guns and Roses.

This song was the basis for the theme song for NFL's Sunday Night Football when Faith Hill used to sing the opening theme. Obviously they changed the lyrics: "Ive been waitin all day for Sunday night"
I saw her in concert LIVE just a few years ago. I believe she is a grandma now, but still hot and rockin the stage with the energy of a 20 year old. The whole crowd was singing along to her, decades after this song first came out.

Joan Jett started out in a band at age 15 called the ‘Runaways’. All girl teenage female rock band!! Very interesting!!! Songs to consider. Queens of noise or Cherry Bomb. ❤️
Joan Jett came to a base our stationed on. She was there to do a benefit show for families of slain and severely wounded servicemen. She put on over a two-hour show, she rocked the House Down. Afterwards she spoke to all the family members the guys from the audience took pictures and signed everything they wanted I bet she stayed almost three hours after the show just taking photos and signing stuff and talkin to everyone.

joan jett and the blackhearts were a group.. joan jett started as a member of the all female band the runaways with lita ford.. after the runaways joan jetts 2 biggest hits were “i love rock-n-roll” and “crimson and clover”... both had success after their band broke up as guitarists and singers... lita had the smash hit “close my eyes forever” with ozzy and joan had several hits as the front person for the blackhearts
Senior week 1989 ..On the boardwalk in Ocean City Md..They had a place you could go in and record 2 songs..Me and my friends thought we nailed this song 🎵 Until we played the cassette They gave us..Didn't sound nothing like it did in that Lil recording booth.lol Good Memories. Saw Joan Jett And the Blackhearts in the 70's and they blew the roof off the theater venue. I was in the balcony and the whole balcony was vibrating so much I thought it was going to collapse. She puts on one hell of a show!!

She also went solo after the split up from The Runaways. And is still going strong today. She was a total rockqueen in the 80,s, check out her song and video "Kiss me deadly"...and please do some more Mötley Crüe. Joan Jett is actually going on tour with Mötley Crüe next year with also Def Leppard and Poison. The Stadium Tour.

One of my favorites! She was one of the founding members of the Runaways (the first All Female Rock group) from 1976 to 1979 which was before the Blackhearts.

I was at a release party for this album in 1987, where she made an appearance. With this song playing on the sound system, I told her I'd been a fan since Bad Reputation and I couldn't wait to get this in the car and crank it up. She was so sweet to everyone... a real doll.

I saw Joan Jett and the Blackhearts live back in 1982 when her solo career was just kicking off (she had been in an all girl rock group the Runaways). She absolutely kicked ass back then. Still does too. So glad when she made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I'll never forget seeing Joan at CBGB's in the 80's. Suprise concert announced 1 day before on WLIR FM. We were the last ones crammed in at the door. They closed the metal gate on my head, I just made it in. Amazing show! Check out "Gotcha" next - her best song!

I saw her once in the early 80’s. Totally bad ass. I distinctly remember her working up a full on sweat before the first song ended and she carried on hard core for the whole show. Good times.

Joan Jett was my first celeb crush (she was everybody's crush tbh), and will forever be the Queen of Rock. I have to suggest "Light of Day" (from the movie by the same name) and their cover of AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap)". Also their cover of Tommy James and the Shondells' "Crimson and Clover". Scrolling through the comments, though, I'm not seeing any bad suggestions.

Joan Jett & Lita Ford were in The Runaways together. They had a big hit with "Cherry Bomb" in the 70's. There's a big Hollywood movie out a few years ago about the Runaways with Kristen Stewart playing Joan Jett. It's actually a great movie & did good in the box office. ( I THINK it's called the Runaways, I forget)

To answer your question about Joan Jett and the Blackhearts always playing together, in the 70s she was in a band with Lita Ford called The runaways. She then went with the black hearts in the '80s.
