You do such wonderful work, just beautiful how you make everything look so good without layering on 10 different colors for each leaf and flowers, that’s the kind of instruction I need. You make it look so simple and so beautiful. I am new to this and can’t wait to get started on my Johanna Bassford color book, The Secret Garden. I will be watching all your videos. Than you so much,

Wonderful! Do you prefer Faber Castell Polychromos or Prismacolor Premiere Pencils?

Christina, as a German I grew up with Faber Castells and the Polychromos are wonderful pencils. They are perfect for detailed work as you can sharpen them to a very fine point and they keep that point much longer than Prismas. And yet, I love my Prismas! They are so creamy and have brilliant colours. So I'm using both sets. German paper is often a bit rougher (has more tooth) and that works better with the Polychromos (my personal opinion).

So I like to paint with both and change regularly between Polychromos and Prismacolor. I agree with Heike on all points. Unfortunately, the prisms are very fast and the polychromos can be used very well for small details, as they can be very pointed. What I particularly like about prisms, you can often layer them and the color transitions are wonderful. With the polychromos it is a bit more difficult, but still nice. What often bothers me with the prism, the pigments jump almost over the picture and if one is not careful, one can quickly cause unintended stains.
Nevertheless, I love them both and would always bring them back to me.
Another great advantage with the polychromos is that they do not break. Not even when they fall down. But be careful when sharpening. Use a sharpening machine for this. I recommend the von Dahle.

i have problem with fast colouring. I get cranky turning video on and off, but on the hand, I like your colouring so I think this is the second video I've watched. lovely colours and not 10 colours layered together.

Is this video in real time or sped up? It's difficult to tell because it seems you move the pencil so fast. Your technique is so unique and the results are absolutely gorgeous! So glad I found your channel. I have liked and subbed. ☺☺
