Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction! See you next for a surprise movie and The Grinch with Jim Carrey!
Yes! I can’t wait for you to react to the Grinch with Jim Carry! Its the perfect movie to start the holidays with!
I absolutely love that movie. Just under curiosity, could u possibly react to Klaus? It’s on Netflix and it’s one of my favorite animated Christmas movies.
@@kobypourciaux1066 BEST IDEA EVER
Oh gosh! You gave me the best news ever! I love that movie so much. Jim nailed it as The Grinch. He's just way too funny. One of his best acting 🤣🤣🤣
It's a classic
The best part about that early scene where Aurora was like two is that it's actually Angelina's daughter in real life! During filming, she was the only kid that could be around the Maleficent costume w/o being afraid so they could capture that moment on camera. Love this movie & the sequel! Can't wait 4 your reaction to part 2!
I was about to say
Didnt know that, explains why she looks so much like her.
Agree🥰! It's unique fairytale becoz their focus was the villain, also a mother & daughter bonding. I love that she adapt aurora
I didn't know that, that's so cool!
Anyone else first see the second movie in a different language because I saw the second one in Spanish so I don’t know what it’s like in English
One of the story’s morals: True love isn’t just about romantic couples, it’s about friendship as well, the bond between individuals.
I have a best friend that I love as a sister, and I have an adopted sister that I love as if she were my sister by blood, and my sister has a beautiful little girl who is almost 3.
@@kalahkirby5422 awww sweet.
yeah.. it's why i love this film more than sleeping beauty...
The reason why the men looked disapprovingly at Stephen begging Maleficent is because a King isn't supposed to bow to another.
Little fact about her discovering the wings are gone: Angelina Jolie said the scene was one giant metaphor for when a woman is violated. The drugging, the pain, realizing what happened, it's all right there.
P.S. I'm only wording it as such to get past the censors.
Omg I never realized
Good lord. I never thought of it as the king raping her
the metaphor of r*pe as having your wings cut off is so so heartbreaking
@@Isabella-tu9fb Someone else told me that and it hit so much harder. It makes a lot of sense too. She's drugged and Stephen takes something from her(in this case her wings) in the process mutilating her. Because of this, she becomes cold and cruel and lashes out at the world, wishing to cause as much pain as possible.
The scene where she awakens and finds her wings gone now hurts so much more.
Also this was someone she trusted, her best friend did this to her... And sometimes it IS someone you trusted
What's really cute is that pre-Elle Fanning Aurora is played by Angelina's real life daughter, since she was the only one not frightened by her in the Maleficent costume and makeup.
Here's a fun fact: the kid who plays baby Aurora was actually Angelina Jolie's kid in real life. It had to be her kid bc all the other kids were scared of Maleficent 😂
Cool
Aww she recognized her mama!
I didnt know that! Cheers very interesting x
I think that’s so cute
Has Brad Pitt's smile
23:00 That was actually Angelina's real life daughter playing Aurora in that scene. That's why she wasn't scared of the horns. 😂
One of the few live action adaptation of the Disney fairytales that I actually like 😅 Angelina’s performance is iconic
I don’t care for live-action adaptations of ANYTHING, I’ve been let down too many times, I’m glad you enjoyed it though.
it's the ONLY disney live action i like.
When this movie first came out I was so shocked because all times before Disney has preached that true love comes from a partner but here for the first time, true love was motherly love and it is , indeed, the most powerful love in the world. Mothers would start wars. No person loves you like your mom. That was powerful.
It just hit me that they replaced Philip...
It’s interesting, because the year before this came out they released “Frozen”, which did a similar thing where they make you THINK true love’s kiss is the key to thawing Anna’s frozen heart, and that it comes from a significant other, but in the end it comes from herself and the act of saving her sister Elsa, because that’s the act of true love she needed after all.
They had a legit theme going on here during this time period with these movies and I am all for it lol
She felt right under her own curse. After al "all people that meet aura would love her" 💖 btw i really love the way she says "true love's kiss" at 18:02, actually Stefan taught her about that so i feel that is her way of saying that a true love's kiss doesn't exist.
That's one of the things I loved about this movie. Maleficent thought the curse would be permanent cause she believed true love didn't exist due to Stefan's betrayal. 'Beloved by all' was very literal, and even Maleficent fell for it. Not only that, but true love's kiss came from a motherly love, which will always be more sincere than any romance. Motherly love is the strongest love.
@@lulystalgianature2968 Diaval was right "No truer love" 💖
On top of that, she said nothing on earth could change it, so she tricked herself into being unable to take the curse back
@@dashernation3343 That one is more understandable. Never in a million years would she had expected to want to take the curse back willingly.
She said all who meet her though, she had already met her before the curse, so would it apply to her? 🤔
in the scene that Maleficent wakes up without her wings, that tried to show us how a woman feels when she is dopped and abused... that gives me chills, cause i had to feel it in my skin...
The thing I like about the Maleficent films is they’re not a remake. They are intended to add to the story. I don’t have a real opinion on the films, but I just appreciate that they aren’t intended to replace the original film. Angelina is beautiful as this character. In general I think Maleficent is a neat character. She’s beautiful and menacing.
But her (alleged) friend really sucks. To betray someone like that, who cared so deeply. To do something so cruel. I can’t blame her for being hurt and pissed.
EXACTLY, thats the lesson of the movie, how inocence, kindess and friendship is corrupted by greediness and selfishness!! How we humans unfortunately are! 🤷♂️☹😢🤦♂️✨🎇
2/3 of 'Maleficent' is the entire 'Sleeping Beauty' though, so yeah it is a remake which replaces the original film. It has a mini prequel at the beginning and the setup for a sequel, but it definitely is a remake.
@@billiebuffalo it doesnt replace the original film if the original film still exists. its just another version, just like the disney version is a version of the original fairy tale
@@JustMe-mp6vu I thought it was more of how both sides could be selfish and cruel with slightly justified intention within our own narrative. Stephan was supposed to kill her for the crown but decided to take the wings as proof. Technically the Moors were better off with this because without her, the Moors would have been overrun and ruined. And he stilled had cared for her since childhood. He let go of his pride to beg Maleficent to not curse his child and had not attacked the Moors as king by that point.
Maleficent was hurt and betrayed but was selfish enough to transfer her pain unto an innocent Queen and a baby.
Stephan just never got a redeeming moment. Being on the tower landing was his last chance to put the fight to bed.
Is the sequel a remake? Or is it a sequel to the animated movie?
Nick: apologizing that he likes the movie, thinking many fans won't like it since it's not the original.
Us: loving every second of it because it's so original and stunning visually
Her magic also changes in contrast to her motivations and feelings. Feelings or innocence, playfulness and good will are golden in hue and her feelings of vengeance and anger is green.
Exactly!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that!!
Whoa, I never noticed that before! 😍
maleficent really went "everyone who meets aurora will love her" and was then surprised when she started loving aurora
I'm one of those people who adore both original and live action-version equally. I'm so happy you like this movie. It is not perfect, but it still remains as one of my favorite live-actions, because there are so many different elements that are not copying the original. The cast - especially Jolie - and the world-building is brilliant, and I especially loved the trio between Aurora, Maleficent and Diaval. I'm excited to see what you think of the sequel as well. Thank you so much for this reaction.
"I'm one of those people who adore both original and live action-version equally."I agree.
"I'm excited to see what you think of the sequel as well."I disagree.
When Maleficent placed the cursed on Aurora she stated that she will “be loved by all who meet her.” so that included Maleficent. Also what “True loves kiss.” meant depended on what Maleficent's definition of true love is, the way she experienced it. So when said it can only be broken by true love's kiss, she kind of created it by definition through her experience with it, if that makes sense.
Stephen gave Maleficent a gift for her sixteenth birthday. True love's kiss. Only she got burned. He broke her heart and took her wings. So now, with that as her only known experience with true love, Maleficent believes there is no such thing.
I break down at the wings scene every time as I did watching this with you because it was confirmed by Angelina Jolie to be meant to be a metaphor for rape and this subject is very very personal to me and this scene just touches me on another level. Her screams and cries when she wakes up and realizes he took her wings are haunting.
Her screams really broke my heart 😢 That scene being a metaphor for sexual assault, especially when it was by the hands of someone you put your complete trust and love in makes me cry every time 😢
Taking her wings is not only a violation of trust and not Only causes mental consequences. But the physical pain he was willing to put her through. Not only from cutting the wings off. She probably was using her wings way more than her legs. Suddenly needing to walk way more when your not used to it , your muskels aren’t used to it, sounds just brutal. Just imagine how her feet looked the first few weeks. Makes it even more sick than it already is.
I honestly really love the emotional attachment aspect between Maleficent and Aurora and how they averted the expected True Love's kiss with the prince. While sure there's some parts that don't match with the og movie, I think how they redid it for this worked out really well.
Angelina's acting really takes it to another level, especially the scene at 10:23
I don't understand how people don't like this, it's a breathtaking movie. As someone who's never watched or cared for the original I think this one is perfect for me and others that feel the same. The visuals, the music, the acting is phenomenal. I just love this movie, and tbh who can't get enough of Angelina?
To be honest, I don’t love Maleficent, but I like it fine. It’s not the most amazing movie I’ve seen, it has many flaws and plot holes (like fairies, who are Maleficent’s subjects, suddenly being on the side of her enemy or them hiding Aurora not somewhere far but right beside Maleficent’s kingdom, or Aurora’s parents even giving her to them without checking if they can take care of her), but it has its good points and creative ideas as well, (such as the concept of turning the story upside down, cutting wings practically being a metaphor for a rape, showing the difficulty and the costs of being wounded and vengeful), especially if you separate it from the original Sleeping beauty and just take it for its own story with its own characters. For me, though, the best part of the whole movie is Diaval and his relationship with Maleficent. The raven is the only character that got truly developed, not just changed) He goes along with the events of the movie while also having his own journey: he’s a raven that’s slowly becoming human. Learning to feel what people feel, raising a child with his Mistress and caring for them both… It’s just beautiful) Also, Sam Riley is awesome, bless those who cast him to play this role)))
I hope you’ll react to Maleficent 2, it’s also pretty great)
I don't think the fairies appreciate Maleficent forcefully taking over the Moors and making herself the ruler when before they simply trusted each other and worked together.
Now while I can agree that Disney live action remakes are trash, the Maleficent movies are solid! Not the best, but growing up with “Sleeping Beauty” made me appreciate them more than an average person’s critical response. The storyline isn’t spectacular and ended up being a “Wicked” ripoff, but the casting for Maleficent and Aurora are just 👌🏼 Elle Fanning may not be mature looking like the animated film portrayed the character as, but Aurora’s only supposed to be 16. In “Sleeping Beauty” she looked more like in her 20s. One could argue that she’s been blessed by fairy magic and that’s why she looked mature for her age. Though you should definitely check out the sequel! It’s honestly a bit better than the first one! I was blown away by the grand visuals when I first watched it in theaters, months before the pandemic.
I will agree that while MOST of the remakes are indeed trash, as you say, Maleficent IS one of the better remakes. Along with Cruella and 101 Dalmatians and maybe Aladdin. I think Angelina Jolie was PERFECT casting for the Mistress of All Evil, but I did like the unique twist they put on her character arc. It made it more interesting than others that just vomited back the EXACT SAME DIALOGUE AND SCENES as in the animated counterparts. The animation was stunning and creative.
Yeah it's Wicked style. Its a retake on a story and meant to be its own thing, almost an alternate reality or "What if". I love the visuals in this movie. Angelina Jolie is gorgeous and striking. The wings, omg the wings. Let me say, I've always been a big fan of the "humans with giant bird wings" fantasy and love the idea of being able to fly so freely. The scenes of her soaring are breathtaking, I was totally enraptured and fell in love with the movie.
I just love the way your face lights up at certain scenes. To me it makes more sense for the kiss to break the spell to come from Maleficent who she's known for years & grown to love versus some boy she just met in the woods. A lot of people don't like it when the villains have back stories. They don't want them to be humanized & loved but every villain has a back story, they aren't just evil for no reason & to be honest the villains are always way more interesting
Waiting for Jafar's movie🐍
When Maleficent reinforced that Aurora would indeed be beloved by all who meet her, she never expected to be one of them and I think that's really great.
THAT was a true love's kiss. A mother's love is eternal. ❤
As Diaval said: "no truer love"
This guy is so adorable I can't
They framed this story really well, making it about the relationship between Maleficient and Aurora. It was good to see how they gave more depth to fairies (which usually are not "good" in folklore, but as strange and dangerous as they are beautiful). Great reaction!
The soundtrack is magnificent
With those wings Maleficent reminds the Queen of pain even more.
The colours and pictures are just so beautiful! You can stop everytime and you have a perfect wallpaper. Like in the original sleeping beauty. This movies are works of art for me!
10:53 And he don't just took her wings, he cut them off. Imagine your two arms will cut off with a knife. Maleficent needs to feel so lost, her scream when she awakes after Stefan cuts her wings says everything. Everytime I watch this part I need to cry as well.
YES!! I was just thinking like a week ago that we needed some Maleficent reactions on UA-cam, thank you so so so much Nick
I love that you've kept your childlike sense of wonder. It makes your reaction so unique and a delight to watch.
A Mother's Love is the Truest Love 💜
This is a great story. For Maleficent as a villain in original story, she changes her heart and she’s a new mother to Aurora. Can’t wait to see another reaction the second movie “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”
Angelina Jolie should have won at the Oscars
As a person with no parental relationship, this movie hit extra super duper hard. #TeamMaleficent
I have such a love/hate relationship with this movie. I adore how unique the story is, and mother type characters as protagonists are always welcomed. At the same time, Maleficent was such an awesome, menacing villain in the original that her portrayal here feels too out of place.
This movie’s focus on motherly love made me weep when I first watched it. The unconventional forms of love seem to always get forgotten/passed up in most popular media, up until movies like Frozen brought up things like sisterly love - then this one. 😭🥰
One of the things I loved the most about this story was actually one almost no one notices: the very subtle subplot of Stefan himself.
Not just his betrayal of Maleficent, that's surface level; I mean the way he descends into madness because his mind literally can't handle what he did. How he's so far along in his madness that even when his WIFE takes ill and dies, he isn't there for her at all, because he's so obsessed with Maleficent. And that's because she never meant that much to him from the beginning, sadly; she was something he "won" when he betrayed his real love, and that fact always overshadowed the queen. She almost doesn't even show up at all in the movie, and that reflects directly off of how important she is to Stefan, compared to Maleficent.
And then how even when his own daughter returns to him, he's distracted and angry -- not for her safety, but that she might ruin his chance to "beat" Maleficent. It's _still_ all about HIM and HIS past, which he can't let die.
He's not mad about Maleficent in a good way anymore -- he's **driven** mad because of his connection to her, in all its horror.
It's not just Maleficent who doesn't believe in true love anymore, after what happened between her and Stefan -- neither does he. And no matter what horrible things he does, just like her, he is just a broken person, who has done bad things, and can't forgive himself. Just like her, he's lashing out because he's in PAIN. And that's heartbreaking. His story is a tragedy.
And then there's the way no one seems to appreciate how devastating and significant the little scene is when he remembers about the iron and decides to use it against her. Now, Stefan is not only constantly haunted by the horrific betrayal he committed against Maleficent... he's decided to _repeat it,_ in an even _worse_ way, and thus *bring the worst part of him back to life,* in all its horrifying glory.
In the end, the only difference between these two "villains" is that Maleficent finds redemption through learning to love again... and Stefan is consumed by his bitterness.
His whole story arc is just so psychologically intricate, and it doesn't get NEARLY enough credit or attention.
What’s funny about Maleficent’s name is that it means: "doing evil or harm". So her parents must’ve had a pretty sick sense of humour to have names their kid that. : P
I feel like Maleficent is the only live action adaption that disney has done very well. They put a unique twist on it while staying true to the story of sleeping beauty versus a scene for scene adaption. That annoys me. I watch it all the time still and watch the second one as well. I love this movie so much.
Nick clapping when he gets excited is so wholesome to me, idk why. xD
Finally!!! So glad you watched one of my favorite remakes! 😆 Now you’ve got to watch the sequel too when you get the chance.
Fun fact: Aurora as a 5-year kid was portrayed by Angelina Jolie’s daughter, as she was the only one not afraid of her mother in Maleficent costume. The other children would run away in fright.
Also, Aurora was portrayed by Elle Fanning, younger sister of Dakota Fanning (who voiced Coraline).
The dress Aurora wore during the mud fight scene could be used only once, so they shot that scene in one take.
It was confirmed that the scene where Stefan cuts off Maleficent’s wings is a metaphor for rape.
Also, out of curiosity… Have you ever watched some of French cartoons (like Code Lyoko for example)?
Keep up the great work!!!
I haven’t watched any French cartoons, might in the future.
YOU KNOW HOW RARE IT IS FOR PEOPLE TO REACT TO THIS? THANK UUU
Only nick would be like “Ohh wow look at that dress!!!” Love it 😊
Nick your reactions are so precious 🥰
So glad you decided to watch this its such a beautiful movie!
coming from someone who absolutely loves the original i think I might have to agree that i love this one more
Yes! Thank you so much for reacting to this Nick! This movie is visually beautiful and I enjoy the storyline as well. Love your reaction!
Love between mother and daughter ❤
Angelina's real daughter plays the little Aurora cuz she was the only one that wasn't scared of her horns. Vivian
I feel like I'm one of the few people who really enjoyed this movie, so it's nice to see you did too. The visuals, the metaphors, the magic... it's all just perfect. And even if the story itself has its flaws and some rather obvious plot holes, I think this is still one of the few remakes that I can actually appreciate. I don't know, maybe I'm just a little biased because Maleficient is my favourite villain. 💚
Another wonderful reaction Nick! My kids and I loved this, and it’s sequel!
Actually, King Stefan is sleeping beauty(Aurora's) father.
Something I liked about about Diaval is his transformations. When Maleficent turns him into a different form, he still has a little bird in him. Like the horse and wolf forms still had a beak instead of a snout/muzzle. The dragon had scales that looked more feather-like, and so on. He is definitely my favorite character for both movies.
Congratulations, Nick. You are the best. ❤️
never watched a youtuber so pure and kind
I wouldn't have minded Maleficent becoming an antihero if it wasn't at everyone's expense: the fairies aren't as motherly, Phillip is less heroic, Stefan is a villain, Leah died, and Aurora isn't quite as weary as strangers (telling Maleficent to come out instead of attempting to flee like she did with Phillip). I think Maleficent still could've been a misunderstood villain if the king and queen legitimately forgot to invite her, only for her to curse Aurora due to used to being ostracized. Before slaying her, the fairies could've appealed to her while Phillip and Aurora (or perhaps her spirit brought to life by the fairies' magic) promise to invite her to future gathering and include her more, as do the fairies.
Nah he cut off her wings I'm pretty sure the non invite was not accidental
But then it’d just be another remake with the same plot and same lines and no one really wants that. They needed to create a new story interesting enough to be separate from the original so that people wouldn’t pick apart the scenes and criticize it for not being perfect. Things like “if they’re gonna make it the same story, they should just copy everything” and other stuff like this were said about other Disney remakes and the creators probably wanted to avoid this. (And I don’t think people will like a main character that curses people just because she wasn’t invited to a party)
eh, but this is how history is often written...by people with money and whoever is in charge. I could totally see men writing the story as though phillip is the hero because men have done that exact thing over and over throughout history (p.s. the fairies were always bad at their job and prince phillip literally knew nothing about aurora. he was brave but why is his kiss true love, when a mother's kiss makes way more sense? also why would Mal want to be invited? the movie makes it very clear what happened to her was an allegory for assault. she isn't taking revenge for not being invited she's taking revenge for having her innocence stolen from her)
I love your excitement for these movies. It really makes my day. Your expressions of joy showing your connection to characters, Its, charming.!
Fun fact: 23:24 That’s Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt
Maleficent was shown as a child healing trees and whatnot. She can make herself a staff, as an extension of her ability to heal trees. But she is incapable of, as you said, "redo(ing) her wings.)
Nick your reactions are so wholesome. You’re not afraid to laugh and cry and your fascination with the world in every movie is full of childlike wonder. I hope you do many more videos yet- you’re a pleasure to watch. 😊👍🏻
This is so funny! I was just listening to the Sleeping Beauty soundtrack and I suddenly see this reaction video in my notifications!😅 While I found Angelina’s performance as Maleficent to be great, I personally prefer the original, animated character. As for the film itself, it was…different. But it is still a pretty good one in my honest opinion.
Maleficent is one of my favorite movies thanks for reacting to it. You must have been incredibly sheltered as this reaction was kind of hard to watch. On one hand I love your genuineness and purity on the other I find it a little shocking and it cuts through some of the more serious or darker parts of this movie. Anyway glad you reacted to this, thanks!
I love this movie ❤️ it almost made me cry. And the second one is also good, I hope we can get your reaction soon! The second did made me cry A LOT 😂 like... Ugly crying. I don't mind the fact that these movies are not perfect, they gave us something new, new perspectives, and a new world to explore. I love it 💕
23:55 I heard they use Angelina jolie’s actual daughter for this part cause every other kid actor was afraid of the costume
I love so much this movie, and the second one too!!
In my opinion that movie was greatest live action I ever seen. Disney did a great job for making antagonist to be a protagonist. Have you seen a live action of Cruela De Vil? The movie was also was great. Go watchet it's awesome.
Angelina Jolie nailed her performance as Maleficent 🔥
She sure did
My interpretation of the scene when Maleficent looks at baby Aurora outside the window (what Aurora was thinking):
Maleficent: "It's so ugly one could almost feel sorry for it."
Aurora: "I don't know what you just said, but at least you're paying attention to me" (smiles)
Maleficent: "I hate you, Beastie."
Aurora: "I'm so happy you're paying attention to me."
To be fair about the throne part, Maleficent used to sleep in the tree from the beginning. But she's lost her wings, and now must use a staff to hold her balance walking. Continuing to sleep in the tree is no longer feasable, so she needed to set her sights closer to the ground to sleep.
Great reaction! The Grinch is my favorite Christmas movie and I look forward to seeing your reaction! Aloha from Hawaii!
When I first started watching Titans, I looked up Brenton Thwaites and was surprised to see he had been in this film. I was even more surprised to find out I had seen him in THREE films (also Oculus and The Signal) and never realized it was the same person. Boy took his time to make an impression!
Rather like Doug Jones! Doug is actually great, and quite down to earth.✌
@@masonsteele261 Well, Doug Jones is usually in heavy make up, which can make him harder to recognize!
So excited to see you react to this! I really do love this film. I think it’s a combination of the villain backstory with an actually compelling story, not to mention the message of maternal love.
Edit: I also really appreciate how much you loved the score!
If there’s any other villain that I want to see get this kind of treatment, it’s Ursula from Little Mermaid.
With Maleficent & Cruella having done well, they MAY do it depending on how The Little Mermaid live action does when it comes out... *Crossing fingers!*
@@jasminejames1090 well Ursula is gonna be played by Melissa Mccarthy so maybe we WILL be getting the same treatment.
I recommend looking up a show called 'Unfortunate', which is basically for Ursula what Starkid's 'Twisted' is for Jafar.
@@JulesPorta no way. My guess is Ursula will be played by either a (probably Black) trans woman or (less likely) a drag queen, considering her character design is based on Divine.
@@JulesPorta Wait, really? Ehh…I can’t see Melissa McCarthy playing her at all
Let me preface this by saying, I've seen 3 movie adaptations and none stageplay version of Stephen King's Carrie. When Maleficent is stalking through the stone pathway markers after he wings were stolen away, and Stephen becomes king, the way the barriers fly off from her footsteps reminds me of something eerily similar in at least one adaptation of Carrie.
Maleficent is like a mother figure to Aurora, it's nice.
Did you know that Angelena’s daughter is in this as she was the only child that wasn’t scared
I believe Diaval is my favorite character.
I loved this, hopefully you'll react to the sequel. It's also on Disney+!! Much love from the Netherlands
Fun fact...the little girl playing Aurora when she talks to Maleficent is actually Angelina Jolie's real daughter. She was the ONLY child who wasn't scared of her in the Maleficent costume, so they included her in the film.
I like how in this version there is no true good and evil. Everyone makes mistakes or hurt others and we need to take the time to rectify them. Maleficent tried to right her wrongs and therefore is hero and villain. Stephan had the chance but was clouded by his anger and hurt to take that step in the end. He wasn't a great man but he could have done worse.
In the beginning, your shirt completely blended with the couch. I thought those were your shoulders!
😂😂
She is so gorgeous i cannot. I remember when i watched this in movie theaters and could not stop telling my husband how gorgeous she is :D
This is one of the only disney remakes that I actually like, and I think it's both because of the original spin on the story, and also how the core relationship is a mother-daughter one, instead of a typical romantic relationship.
10:37
The directors confirmed Maleficent losing her wings was also a symbol of the loss of virginity...😢😢😢
I read on the Disney wiki that apparently, the reason why baby Aurora was crying in that one scene at the cottage is because she needed milk, and obviously Maleficent couldn't feed her, so Diaval brought her milk from a flower (also I think to pacify her).
Aurora: "Oh, it's just so beautiful!"
Maleficent (in her head): "Alright, that's enough! Time for bed!"
My question is: how did Maleficent get Aurora all cleaned up when she put her to bed the second time after that mud fight?
This is actually one of my favorite movies of all time.
Maleficent was opening up too quick. That's why she took her back too quickly. Fear of being hurt again
This movie is surprisingly good. Maleficent is all at once fearsome and heartwarming, and the worlds are visually stunning. The original Sleeping Beauty was fine, but it was a fairy tale. The characters were figures to carry out actions that needed to happen. This movie gave the characters actual character, and Maleficent herself was a sympathetic character, her arc of learning to love again was beautifully crafted, if maybe a little predictable, but at the same time she felt none the less like the Mistress of Evil, not disappointing at all. Favorite characters: Maleficent (obviously), Diaval, and also those big tree guard guys were really cool.
I will say nothing of the sequel regarding plot, but only that I don't regret watching it.
I just noticed something: in the first spell yk the one with the spinning wheel, she says "loved by all who meet her" and she met her...soo....thats why...
I like her powers better without the wings though. But at the same time she also looks very gorgeous with her wings.
Oh my, I remember when this came out! Like it or hate it this movie leaves an impact on the viewer regardless.
This is actually a ultra universe where she is good.
2:35 And she's also Bunty the chicken in chicken run!
Watch number 2 people underrated it but it's actually pretty good in my opinion
Ohhh a GREAT surprise!
I was doing research for an English paper years ago and was researching Sleeping Beauty stories for it and came across a few. The oldest I found was that Sleeping Beauty was already asleep from the curse and that this king found her and raped her because she was so beautiful. He never woke her up, but got her pregnant with twins and one of the twins she had was the one who woke her up. I believe she had a splinter in her finger and the baby sucked it out trying to breast feed from her finger. I remember the king comes back finds her awake and makes her his queen. This version is so wrong and so twisted. Who made it up? Like seriously? Was it a pedophile? Needless to say "Disney" may have decided to take the rape element of that story and apply it to Maleficent in regards to her wings. I don't know since I don't know what research was done about past Sleeping Beauty stories in the making of Maleficent. Honestly Angelina Jolie did a phenomenal job on that scene. You felt her pain. I won't spoil the second Maleficent if you haven't watched it yet. I would love to see your reaction to it if possible. Personally I don't like the second one, but that being said a reaction of it would be enjoyable to watch.
The first film is a great deal better, at least in my opinion. I actually became somewhat pissed when I saw what I thought was the first film in my Disney+ options, and found out on a closer inspection that it was the sequel. Bring back the first film, please, Disney! I know I'm not the only one to want to watch it again...
I hope you stop being hard on yourself, Nick. No one is going to get mad at you for the slightest inconvenience, and if they do they’re not worth listening to.
