    I love the design of those lights. They should offer those lights without the u.v. option and market it towards the business executive. Its non tactical and you would think it is a pen based on the clip.

    These are perfect for me, I'm in LE and the uv is good for looking for counterfeit bills, bodily fluids, and bringing out the security features on ID'S. Like you said it's kind of a niche light but if you're in that niche it definitely has use.

    I do enjoy this Chanel. With so much gear out there it could become a little overwhelming when trying to decide on what you want to spend your money on. I would love to see older products go against newer gear to see if it makes sense to upgrade... hopefully not downgrade lol.

    When these first hit the market I had high hopes because I love the original Ld02 very disappointed that years later I think they failed in the sense of the market 70/100 lm it’s just a let down for your average person Great review thanks

    I just got both of these too and have been slightly disappointed by the function. Coming from an EDC mindset this light really lacks and I can’t think of a practical use of the UV for the general user. So you’re right about this being more of a tool for professionals who need a specific need.

    Got this like a week ago, and was playing around trying to shine the tree outside my apartment at night and i accidentally dropped it from the 3th floor & made a loud sound. Thought i accidentally killed a brand new flashlight but turns out its still working!

    I was searching Amazon and found that Fenix makes the same flash light with a warm white led light/uv light combo...I do HVAC work and this light would be a good work edc for me. Thanks for your review!

    As somebody who has worked in the medical field for years, they would have been better off taking something like a streamlight 1aaa and giving the option for lens colors..
    I work in sleep medicine and use lights red, green and blue filters to minimize that spectrum.

  • @rickkerans8485

    That would also be great in the desert because scorpions really glow under UV light. Since I don't and not in medical field or law enforcement I don't see much use for it. Great review as always appreciate the honesty.

    • @kaizen5023
      @kaizen5023 2 роки тому

      You can get much bigger/better battery powered UV lights for a desert scenario with scorpions, like dive lights. This would be good for checking under your pillow :D

    • @TheExplosiveGuy
      @TheExplosiveGuy 2 роки тому

      @@kaizen5023 yeah I have to agree, the UV led in the Fenix is super weak, it only works about a few feet away. Something like the uvBeast would be much better, with like 20 watts of UV output, about 100x that of the Fenix for about the same cost.

    I am a nurse and just bought this flashlight based on your review. It looks like it will be perfect in my practice. My Welch Allyn pen light has a head made of plastic and it has broken twice. I am fed up with the poor quality and have been looking for something better. We will see if this light fits the bill.

    Love the lights. Might give them a try I carry the streamlight stylus pro and that’s more of a white light and I love it so I may give these a shot and try the natural. Awesome vid.

      If the 2AAA version had at least 180-200 lumens even without UV light it would be tempting but considering the Streamlight Stylus Pro USB as its counterpart I ont see the point on those Fenix. They have a very narrow commercial niche.

    Hi Aaron, love your UA-cams, particularly the useful items even of not "tactical". You might want to check out these flashlights, Coleman Battery Guard LED Flashlight. A couple are available at Target and four are available on Amazon. I have two of these and plan to buy more. I really like these flashlights for several reasons. When the switch is off the batteries are disconnected thus extending their longevity. The switch is on the side of the units and easy to access and use. The first click on the switch is a very low light and low battery draw which is fine for use when your eyes are accustomed to the dark and you just need enough light to keep from tripping over something. If needed the second click is extremely bright and powerful. Both ends of the units are rubberized thus easier to hold on to and cushioned if dropped. They use three AAA batteries and are perfectly sized to comfortably hold on to or stick in your pocket. Finally, they are well designed, well made and inexpensive.

    Would you recommend a better light for a mechanic to have in a shirt pocket? I like to carry my light there so I was drawn to this light because it's long and skinny but looks kind of cool.lol I'd like one I can use some type of rechargable batteries in.

    The Streamlight Stylus Pro and Microstream have a very stiff clicky switches, and never come on in the pocket even when carried with lots of other stuff. Other makers need to get on board with the stiff clicky. I just cannot use a light with a touchy button that comes on by itself all of the time.

    Why does nobody talk about the color of light? The pen light has the nice yellow light compared to all the bright led lights that every flashlight is anymore. The Yellow light is much more please to the eye and shows true Colors as well.

    Have to say it ... the focus of promoting and continual wearing of those sunglasses where your viewers can’t see your eyes is so unprofessional that I’m going to unsubscribe and move on to other true tactical & gear focused channels

    • @jimmygrey6848

      In what way is promoting and having sponsors unprofessional? If anything it's the opposite.

    • @daltonwilcox3101
      @daltonwilcox3101 6 років тому +3

      This is more of an outdoor channel anyway. Backpacking and knives for bushcraft are the main focus despite the name. A brief mention of sponsors at the beginning is not unprofessional in anyway. If you’re looking for “tactical” this isn’t the place for you.
