Y'all are crazy, camping in a volcano, no.... 4-wheeling with open diffs, no- not good. Thanks for sharing you crazy kids, have fun and be safe, see you on the next video. BTW, beautiful El Salvador and beyond......
I am from El Salvador and I recommend you go to Cerro Eramon, it is a very beautiful place and also with a lot of history and I am sorry if there are mistakes in my English, I am not very good with English.
Hi guys when you look at the news and other platforms we get the wrong message of what people and places are about but by watching you guys we see what a beautiful world and amazing people we share this life with
When I rode my motorcycle through the same route that you guys are taking, El Salvador ended up being one of the best countries that I have visited. Glad to see that you there. I love following along… thank you for all of the additional effort that you put in to edit and upload videos.
"Let go of your expectations and surrender to what's around you." Seeing the Chinook drive through El Tunco after just visiting again last month is a trip. Absolutely love to see it.
This is simply what I called LIVING LIFE ,the luxury of time , meeting people outside of our comfort zone , different races with different beliefs and most importantly indulge in their culture , I am inspired by these videos so much. Story telling is 💯 , cinematic views 💯, relationship goal 💯, but a 1000 for you guys level of craziness going inside the crater lol
Many you guys got a year out of my left eye with that one. I was once stuck after trying to help someone else get stuck about 10hrs of digging in Bombay beach California. I literally heard you’re gonna get stuck and it’ll be worth it. As a result I now have some of my dearest friends I call family. And a new fojnd respect for that type of clay mud that can make you wanna cry and give up on life lol. You guys are absolutely making guides that are life altering even for those of us watching. I literally make time In my day to be inspired for my trip there next year. While I pray I never get Stuck again especially since my rig weighs 11,600-12k haha yoire Smiles and Swingset ending are Like that of a box office movie which leaves everyone sitting in the theater waiting for the bloopers
Your positivity and ability to see light in the darkest of situations is simply amazing.. It's one of the reasons your story is a special and joyful one I wish you both safety and blessings 🙏🏼
Using a double line pull with a shackle will make everything easier and two trucks for an anchor is better than one 👍🏽, thanks for another amazing look at your adventure 🤙🏽
Your guy's channel is awesome. Some tips: 1. If you use a kinetic rope, you need KINETIC energy. That cops truck needed to backup 10-15 feet and jerk you out. Watch Matt's off-road recovery for explanations. 2. Winching off of 1 car almost never works. 2 cars like you did is the key. Hope you have a snatch block to get a little more torque next time. 3. Burying your spare probably would have worked as someone said above, but lots of work. 4. Why have lockers if they aren't wire hahaha. Hope you fixed that. Keep going, I can't wait to see you in Honduras where I am from!
Hey Albert, thanks for being here! I tried telling the cop he need to yank the truck but it got lost in translation... The chevy did try and back up and actually pull. It moved the truck but was unsuccessful. The language barrier definitely made things more interesting! Burying the tire crossed my mind and I almost did it until the second truck came and we had a better anchor. Honestly I had intended to wire them up at many stages in the trip, it just got lost in the sauce of everything else! Cheers!!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners for next time: Tienes que arrancarlo duro! sirve como una banda de hule, la cuerda usa la fuerza del arranque para sacar al carro. It works like a rubber band the rope uses the force from the yank to pull out the car. You don't need to worry about the rope or your car, because the rope uses the rubberbanding to make it soft. Good evening from the still smoking south Okanagan. We're still here - so far - watching your travels. That clay looks worse than some of the "loon poop" clay we'd get stuck in on the Saskatchewan prairies as a kid. Winching is something I've learned to not love either, but they have saved some unplanned walking a few times for sure. Safe travels you two.
Thanks for visiting my country u too hope you the going truth my pulgarsito are people well not live alone i seen you truck before but I can remember ware I see you too well have fun what ever you are going sheers from Southern California
This is a well made video, looks like you always put that extra effort with the script and the shots that makes it so delightful. Thank you for coming, I hope had a great time. Please come back 🇸🇻
Thank you for visiting El Salvador and clearing some of the bad rap that is said. Truth is we are a developing country trying to get rid of the past conflicts and trying to start a new chapter in our history, The entire country knows the reliability of Toyota and its the #1 go to car when considering buying one.
Y'all are just so awesome. Building my truck now for a trip to Alaska and Yellowknife, next late spring. It's just me, and I don't need alot of space. If I can afford and manage it, trek across Russia during the winter, then to Europe. That's the plan anyway
You guys are so cool! Can’t have adventure without a little risk, and U2 are certainly on an adventure. Thanks for sharing with those of us who are still stuck here… L O L.
OK, that was.... so scary, my heart is racing, and I can't believe how calm you were.. thank goodness you got out, and wow, amazing people!! I couldn't help but think you should have taken a volcanic clay bath!
That was amazing! Totally worth the four hours of winching for that lakeside coffee. Great shots, especially the last one on the swing, that was hilarious.
Video, story-, and especially the droneshots on point as usual 😘🥂 Go and connect those locker wires! It was hard to watch this AWD like tire movements on such a capable truck 😂
Thank you thank you! It was hard to endure lol. Honestly the Chinook has done incredibly well so far without lockers, we're done some decent wheeling in it. Getting them wired up has moved up the priority list thought ;)
Time to wire up those lockers and maybe take some recovery technique classes. Please tell me that snatch strap or toe strap wasn’t hooked up to a tow ball😬 . Snatch block and a double line pull and double up your anchor point. Also recommend looking into a dead man anchor for these type of situations.
I think Matthew could teach that course with all the technical recoveries he's done over the years! I'd say overall the recovery went well. The language barrier definitely made things interesting. And no, definitely not hooked to the tow ball!
One tip, if you ever get stuck like that again try putting your winch line or strap over the spare tire as it will help provide lift and break the suction
Great content as always! Glad you were able to get help from the locals. If ever in a similar situation, you can run your winch line or tow line over your spare tire to pull your rig up as well as out as it rolls. Even put one of your Max Trax under the spare so it doesn't get shoved down into the mud. Keep up the great work. Love following along with your adventures.
Beautiful film! Wish I could have been there to help get your truck unstuck with my Jeep.😬 It looks like you guys are having lots of fun, enjoy and be safe. Cheers from Texas🇺🇸
I know I’m 5 months late but have you wired up your diff lockers since this happened? I have a locked 80 series and it’s very nice to be able to turn the dial to lock the axles up. Totally agree. I think the distance to the hard ground was too long for a double line pull, thankfully one was enough!
Volcano camping is adventurous, at least it didn't blow its top while you were stuck, and everyone pitched in and helped you guy's out 👍
Haha, now that really would have made for an entertaining video.

Hello, you can use the spare tire as an anchor, you dig a big hole and buried it, another tip, don't spin the wheels while winching
After having just visited for the second time, I’m so stoked to watch this !!
Making it to Salvador with no lockers is an accomplishment on its own. Should have drank that morning's coffee to get you out of that clay.
