The Complementary Cilician Fir

Imagine a fir tree with bright green needles that thrives in clay soil, cool wet winters and moderately hot summers! Such a tree would describe the Cilician fir!
The Cilician fir (Abies cilicica) can self seed within a few hundred feet of the parent tree, but these seedlings appear to have a limited ability to compete with neighboring broadleaf deciduous forest trees. Please feel free to leave your reaction in the comments.
