  • This rare Snowflake Asagi took decades to perfect to the level we witness today. It will still take many years before there are enough available for the average koi keeper to afford one for their very own collection.
It is called Yuki Asagi or better know as the Snowflake Asagi. At the time of this Koi tutorial release there are only two or three of these rare koi in the US. This gorgeous fish symbolizes the first snowfall on the red leaves from Fall. In this tutorial you will learn about the uniqueness of this wonderful fish before you ever see it available at your local koi shop.

    love the snowflake.
Our dealer just brought home an Snowflake asagi, but the price was no way near 2-3 grand.
he sold it for 325 USD, and it is a fine quality too.. so I guess prices has dropped the last few years !

I actually like the look of standard Asagi better. The back scales are what draws my eyes towards them. Making those scales solid white/ginrin kinda makes the scales harder to see. I also like a bit of red on the side. I guess it’s a good thing I’m more attracted to cheaper koi lol.

we've bought a dozen koi's about 10 years ago, but there is one fish who's got those snowflakes as well. does that improve it's value? greetings from the Netherlands

+Kevin DE vries The snowflake you have is called Gin Rin. Gin Rin does not always raise the value of the koi but it is certainly a beautiful look.
