    I had bad migraines and although the instructions say to put on your feet, I thought, why not put one on my forehead? 🤔 I did, and instead of black or grey, it turned pink! I am not sure what it drew out of my skin, but my migraines are a thing of the past!

    How about someone take an actual foot pad that has been worn over night and test the USED foot pad to see what, if any toxic substances are on it that possibly came out of the body. Then that would be a legit test

      Not sure how this would be accurate cause the toxins in your body are not goin to be a solid powder its in you kidney and the water in your system so if its drawing out the toxins in the body fluids the only way you would know if its working is to test a actual pad that some used to see what it pulled out if I poured powder on a dry foot pad how would you expect it to suck up the powder make it disapear just confused how this could even be compared to pulling toxins out of the body

      Yes, these results could be interesting to see, although sadly it’s not likely something we’ll see on UA-cam, as testing for a wide range of toxins, all at extremely low concentrations, would be a massively large and expensive task, as you can’t just “test for everything.” Even common tests, such as drug tests, only rest for a very limited number of drugs, and most labs aren’t even equipped to test for anything beyond some of the basic ones, and of course, these would be at much higher levels within the individuals body than these micro toxins they are talking about. so I imagine it would require a very high tier lab to be able to test for even most of the toxins these pads claim to extract, and wouldn’t even be surprised to find that no one lab could test for all of them

    Here is what you should be doing: 1. Get used footpads. 2. Test a used and unused footpad for heavy metals and other toxins. 3. If the used foodpad contains much more toxins like heavy metals then the unused one there is a significant effect. By the way it is a fact that you lose heavy metals while sweating in a very significant way. It is also easier to sweat them out through the foot then elsewhere. I really hope that some people could propperly test the detox effect itself. I currently think that it is more efficient to go to the sauna and sweat like crazy and then get vegetable juice and follow up with plenty of vegetables and propably ad some cylantro parsley and safetytesed quality chlorella. Just search scientific study for chlorella and heavy metal detox.

    This guy does a legitimate science test and all people can do is criticize him and point out all of his mistakes just because you can't face up to the fact bat the foot pads are a gimmick and a money making scheme doesn't mean you have to make fun of someone else. If he does another test where he's corrected all of his mistakes and he still gets the same result then you'll have to face the truth

      Then explain the color change of the pads after a period of time on the foot/feet? What I mean is that someone puts a new pad on the bottom of the foot/feet each night for a week or two after cleaning the area thoroughly each night plain, unscented Castile liquid soap and water. I have seen the pads change color from use on the bottom of my feet from black to a funky yellow/gray, sickly yellow and finally at the end of the week the pad was white. I use the pads every three to five months to do a cleanse.

    So, here’s my experience with these detox foot pads. I have been on strong pain medication for a long time. Specifically at the time of trying the pads I was taking between 15-30mg of oxycodone. When I put them on my feet I started to get tingling and rather uncomfortable burning sensation from the soles of my feet to my calf’s. That’s the feeling that occurs when my body is going through the early stages of withdrawal. At least for me. After bearing or is it baring? through it as long as I could which I think was no more than a few hours, being that it took about an hour for it to begin making me feel that sensation, I went ahead and took them off and never tried them again because of that. Not sure if that means it works but once I took them off the sensation went away. This is a old video so… doubt anyone will read this. Or if it’s of any purpose.

    Becoz I put it on without expecting anything since they are gifts I received, but gradually my health improved. If you put it consistently for 10 days, the patch will get lighter and lighter over time and less damp. It’s cheap and no harm trying even its placebo

    I agree with @lady bug. In fact, why not try this with a group of people? I have always wanted to test the contents of the patch after it has been used to see what chemicals and toxins it contains in comparison to before it was used.
    I remember someone saying that the reason they turn black and 'yucky' is only because it reacts with normal perspiration from the feet. This is quite plausible but I wonder why patches become lighter and lighter each day?
    Normal sweating contains some toxins etc. and so it would be difficult to differentiate between what was caused by normal, everyday sweating and what was the result of a detoxifying product. I wonder if you could conduct an experiment whereby some people ingest toxins which aren't too harmful but nothing that humans normally make and then see if that can be detected in the patch throughout a two week period of using these patches compared with the control group.
    The investigation that I wanted to carry out would be to make a sham detox patch with flour or perhaps something that would turn black anyway if it came into contact with water and to give this to the control group and to give the other subjects the actual patches and to 1) ask them to record how they felt after using a patch each day to see if there is a placebo effect and 2) to determine whether the subjects using a legitimate patch had considerably more toxins.
    There are confounding variables which need to be controlled for e.g. if you are using a mixture of healthy and not so healthy people etc.
    I used to be an aromatherapist and it's definitely something that some people swear by whilst others are very sceptical about it. One lady rubbed her feet with a garlic clove and within half an hour she had garlic breath. I know this is different to what we are discussing here however.

    Shouldn't a test of this nature include uric acid doind in sweat rather than indicidual toxins for at least 30 minutes? Keep in mind that sweating is a factor since the pads cause the foot sweating. My foot pads turned completely black ofer night ans the irritating neural ache I had on rhe bottom of my feet for several years that kept me up at night was gone. My wife who is a nurse experienced exhaustion the next day. I also wonder if the pads would react the same way from sweat on other parts of the body such as the scalp or underarm.

      This experiment doesn't prove that the footpads don't work. Mixing different chemicals in a bin can cause the chemicals to react with each other and form new chemicals, so I'm assuming the cocktail he is mixing is an entirely different chemical structure as opposed to the separate toxins. It's the same for your body: a toxin reacts with the cells and damages them, but forms a new substance. The body turns alcohol into sugar and tons of other drugs and toxins into biological biproducts so mixing a bunch of chemicals and testing them on the pad does nothing to prove anything for me because by the time the toxins are in the body, you body produces response toxins to rid itself of them. The pads are made of vinegar powder. IN America, raw apple cider vinegar has been proven to have health benefits as well as reducing bone spurs. The Asian version of this seems to be wood, rice and bamboo vinegar. The detox pads, I use them all the time when I dance for sore knees (I put them on my knees as well as feet). The pads somehow assist in making your muscles relax. When your body relaxes in a certain way, it can homepathically heal itself. The footpads are not a scam but the detox part is not the selling point for me. Vinegar stabilizes blood sugar and the more stable your blood sugar is, the less you age. I wish people would actually do real scientific studies instead of trying to "prove" that they are a scam. For me, having used them for over three years, it's not matter of whether they work, it's HOW they work that I try to lookup.
      Yes, moisture does activate them but when the sweat from your body activates them, the vinegar is activated and there are the similar detoxing effects of apple cider vinegar.

    the best way to do this test is to test a pad without using it at all for its chemical composition, then to test a used pad for its composition to see if any toxins were added.

    • @ibchemvids
      @ibchemvids  5 років тому

      Identification of toxins is problematic - there are many to look for. Some are very toxic and require sensitive machinery (eg phosgene) others can be discovered by just burning the foot pad and observing the colour (like Arsenic).
      It the pad shows positive for toxins with clean water, and negative with high concentrations of known toxins - on the balance of probability it looks like the pads do not work.

      @@ibchemvids Then explain the color change of the pads after a period of time on the foot/feet? What I mean is that someone puts a new pad on the bottom of the foot/feet each night for a week or two after cleaning the area thoroughly each night plain, unscented Castile liquid soap and water. I have seen the pads change color from use on the bottom of my feet from black to a funky yellow/gray, sickly yellow and finally at the end of the week the pad was white. I use the pads every three to five months to do a cleanse.

    Im sure there must be a better way to do this some form of spectroscopy comes to mind. I'd place the unused granules in some medium such as water because the liquid that toxins would be carried around in the body must be water soluble. That would be my control, Then have a used sample and see if some form of metal molecule is detected. If we're looking for heavy metals. Or some other form of testing for other organic molecules.

    All they have to do is follow the directions. The pads will decrease in the color and out put of toxins as the weeks progress, hence the water theory is bunked. I used them my self as directed on the box. The color slowly t=left the pads and there was no residue left. Conclusion they work. Just read the directions first.

    Hi Richard, thanks for testing. Maybe its time for redoing the tests? There seems to be a new hype around about these total natural ingredient foot pads. However your approach fails to show if it is even possible at all that the toxins can cross the skin barrier. You seem to have a nice lab. Can't you do it the other way round by analyzing the contents of the used pad? BR

    • @ibchemvids
      @ibchemvids  3 роки тому +13

      I think the most genuine experiment would be to use the pads as advertised and compare to simple cotton wool in cotton bags used in the same manner (on the foot). Then use a mass spectrometer to identify the chemicals collected - account for the chemicals present in the commercial footpads - then compare. This is beyond a high school class but is possible in a university lab. Personally I would like to know the names of specific toxins that they claim to remove - this would them simplify the experiment. For example if the pad claim to remove 0.1g of mercury then a competent high school student could use colorimetry to detect his (mercury can be persuaded to change colour using chemistry - a machine measured this colour).
