- I've got one more stop before I head to Eugene for World Championships. This time, I'm heading to San Francisco. It's a city that I've been to many times with my wife, with my kids, and with my friends. But it's the first time that I've been here as a runner.

Absolutely loved how you captured the beauty of SF and even dug out old family pics. It was awesome spending time with you, Terrence & other Kofuzians - come back again soon!!!
Great to spend time with you again!
Hell ye
Michael , you are the Rick Steves of running! Thanks so much for taking us along with you! I have really enjoyed the Runner's Weekend series.
You actually look better now nearly 10 years later! ☺️ Amazing what running and following your passion can do! 🤗
Absolutely agree!
Very nice meeting you Mike at the ASICS meetup. As I said, you’re building such a great community for all of us runners…or wannabe runners like me. It gave me a chance to meet Terrence and Leona too.
awesome meeting you as well, Albert!!
See you in the LS, if not around town!
@@tsubakichan Good luck with the marathon! Once I recover, I'll try to run LS more so hopefully we'll bump into each other.
Great video! Really enjoyed seeing SF from your POV. The Bush Man died several years back. He was such a wonderful piece of the Wharf.
I figured he must not be around anymore. Sad to hear he’s gone
Hahah! ❤ that ice cream ending! 😂
"It looks like you're staring into the abyss!!"
"That's California, son".
you made my area look so good....we have problems here in the Bay Area, like everyone else, but the Bay Area is so beautiful. Love that you had a great time....have fun in Eugene
Yet more fun seeing you meet up with other run club members, and also more outstanding cinematography of one of the most beautiful cities in the world! There was a Boudin sourdough in Santa Monica (don’t know if it’s still there) and I used to fill my suitcase with sourdough bread every time I went back to LA to see my parents. Also-those electric buses are technically called trams or trolley buses if I’m not mistaken. They had those, too, when I was growing up in LA but they disappeared by sometime in the 60’s if not earlier. Not to be confused with cable cars.
LOL - I was actually laughing at 5:50 when you went into your review of the sourdough bowl... sounded just like a shoe review. Yummy
Hahaha so true.
Loving all of these meet ups 😀🙌 this Kofuzi tour is great!
Another great one! Particularly loved that last bit at the end about sometimes wanting things to stay the same. 👌
Absolutely love here runner weekend videos Mike!!
Amazing location 🙌 Loving these runner weekend trips!!!
Love San Francisco! So nice to see it again through your lens. Looks like you had a great time!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Awesome info on San Francisco Marathon 1st half in 2 weeks. Excited to see everyone there.
Great seeing you and sharing a run!!!
Grew up in San Francisco and worked there until 2017. My lunch runs were along the Embarcadero down past the ballpark and further south to Pier 80. The views were almost always nice and it's a great memory. I think you did a good job showcasing the city for runners.
I don’t think it’s ‘the city for runners’
It is full of way too many cars and people spewing pollution
The best city for running is one where you don’t see a car the whole time you run. In my humble opinion.
I wanted to visit snd driven thru but Bay Area is insanely overpopulated
Not to mention…. Priced….
A runners city is not one where avg rent per month is over $3,000
Never been this early to comment. Congrats on the move, enjoyed listening to your talk about yard work as I was mowing the yard yesterday.
OK Mike - I think you have a future in planning running weekends... sign me up! Awesome video as always - so so jealous of these - hoping to be on a few of my own soon enough...
Great moments !!! 🇧🇷
I do recall that bush guy!
Loved this video! You always inspire me to continue with what I do, to keep mile~ing, all of us at the different skill paces we own✨ And we get to enjoy some of what you experience in your travels, training, and races💫
Thanks so much!
Nice video! Unfortunately, I think the Bush Man passed away a number of years ago. 😢 I used to work near the Wharf and would watch him scare people all the time during my lunch break. Never got old!
lived here for years, didnt know about the bush man. I've had encounters with other "eccentrics" or homeless folk in SF who were harmless and would play wtih passing folk in various ways, tho most are obviously not in that mode. Great run Michael, hope you got some vegetarian tacos after the group run.
The tacos were great! Rice, beans, and veggies. I only wish I would have eaten more of them
Simple but very effective comedy
I think his nephew took over, but I haven't seen him since 2019.
Great video, SF is one of my happy places, was just there for escape from alcatraz so did some of the run you showed
Super encouraged by this channel. I just started running last week and I’ve been working on half miles. Super excited in the next year to work towards distance runs like this!
my current fitness goals are to be able to run like this without having to skip a run or miss an opportunity because I'm too tired
What a fun vlog!! That fog during your morning run was crazy!😶🌫️ Definitely going to have to try out one of those bread bowls one day. Love how you captured the vibe of SF.🌉
Running the SF Marathon in 2 weeks! Thanks for this extra motivation! Great video Ko!
Get ready for the hills!!!

Great video. See you running in the Novablast 3. Looking forward to your full review
Great perspective of San Fransisco, such a beautiful city!
I love it there
The cheers with the piece of bread 😭 Great vid as always
I haven’t watched in a while but man was that a cool video. Your product quality is exceptional. Never been to San Fran but it is on my list.
Thanks so much for watching!
your old pic gave me a good chuckle lol, crazy transformation
Really nice video- loved that you re-ran walks you did with your daughter as a baby. It’s a great idea - “nostalgia run” for the soul.
A trip down memory lane
Kofuzi, I have enjoyed watching your travel/run videos. Particularly, I have enjoyed your story telling about yourself and the places that you were in. You can definitely do a travel channel.
Awesome vlog Mike! San Francisco is an green city !
Another trip, another banger of a video.
Thanks Brandon!
@4:08 That lady seems to be VERY intrigued by the camera LoL
Another excellent adventure!
Thanks Remy!
I've lived there for 13 years and that's where I've gone to college and met my wife(s), LOL, so SF will always have a special place in my heart. I miss it but not the high prices. Now I'm back in Europe where I'm originally from.
I’m really enjoying your Runner’s Weekend series. San Francisco is an incredible city to explore on the run. Btw, congrats on your new house!
Thank you!
Thanks for the content! I’ll probably never go to San Francisco - but I just did‼️😁
man, thumb up to your vid, running with traveling just fun, it's a life style!
Another nice one. Cool idea to go back to the painted ladies where you and your daughter walked years ago.
Thank you for this ! SF is one of my favorite cities in the world 🌎 😍
I’ve made a lot of good memories in this town
@@kofuzi it is hilly, but fun to run. I was stationed years ago in Petaluma during my years in the coast guard and drove to SF to run. Now I go back to visit friends. Glad you have had wonderful memories.
So nice to see you and Terrence running together! And Leona too! Makes me want to run in SF soon, I just need to practice hills more 😅
we're waiting for you to come!!
It’s hilly but oh so worth it
I should’ve known better than to have watched a Kofuzi travel vlog while starving. Had to pause and finish it at Bread Co (aka Panera) while eating soup in a bread bowl. EPIC fog run with @terrence huey . So cool to see (or not see) the GGB like that! Loved seeing @leona wong as well.
That is an excellent place to watch the video
Love SF. One of my favorite cities. You ran part of the Ragnar course and that brought back some memories.
oooh. SF Ragnar sounds fun
mans got the novablast 3ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss thoughts pls love these kinds of tours
love from india
Thank you so much for inspiring us and bringing us the best info here on UA-cam! Been watching your videos for over a year and got my first half marathon coming up this October in Miami! Was wondering if you could share what you use to film your content equipment wise. Whether it’s action broll or in the studio was curious as to your set up! Thanks again
GoPro hero 10, Insta360 one x2, Sony a6100 with sigma 16 or g series 70-350
😮 the mist!!! No wonder you passed Leona Wong on that run without even knowing, good thing she got a picture to prove it 😂🤣. Golden gate bridge run ✔️ 🚊✔️ KRC ✔️. Another excellent trip 👍🏼. I would like to do a HM or a race that goes thru the golden gate. The views most be super. Can’t wait to see the Oregon weekend video 😁😁😁
Yeah. I had no idea she was there. The fog was so thick
San Francisco is somewhere I've always wanted to visit. Running the bridge is on my bucket list and your visit to the wharf made me hungry for a bread bowl and ice cream. I think you should fly back through before home and get some sourdough to take back to your wife. :)
Dayum you’re traveling brother man!
Glad to see you on the best coast
So sad to see people stuck in east/‘midwest’
Don’t be sad. We have the Great Lakes and they’re rad. 😎❤️
@kofuzi time to come to Scotland 👍👍👍
Sam Fran is one of my favourite cities to go to when I visit the US. Hopefully one day I will get to do the marathon there.
People don't like running it because it's not a fast course (pretty decent elevation changes, albeit mostly 1st half) - but having run other races in other cities, it's still my favorite because of the beauty and variety of scenery. Hope to see you on the course one day! (And would love to visit .au someday too!)
SF has some great routes for sure! Running across the Golden Gate Bridge in the fog in the early morning with the fog horn going off is a really cool experience.
it's surreal because of the fog and strangely loud because of the traffic
@@kofuzi Totally agree! I ran across the bridge for the Golden Gate Trail classic. It was probably 5:20 in the morning, so the fog was there and also the weird yellowish glow from the lights. It was pretty darn cool
Welcome to the city 🙂
Thank you 🙏
This series is more like runner's summer!
Alternate title for the series was going to be Endless Runner
This man has ran over 2 Iconic bridges so far ,the George Washington Bridge and now the Golden Gate Bridge
There is a parkrun near the Golden Gate Bridge. It's Crissy Field parkrun.
awesome video! by the way is that a white fenix that you are wearing?
lets goooo
Ben & Jerrys AND a waffle cone! 😂. ΒΤW, I love the 360 degree panoramic effect.
When it rains, it pours
Another great Runner’s Weekend video. Thank you!
What flavor of Ben & Jerry’s did you get?
Ben and Jerry’s was Salted Caramel Core. The waffle cone was coffee
@@kofuzi Woah they have flavored cones? I should stop by for the first time in decades! 😂
Nine Thirty Two /mi. That's my daily pace. 😁 I'm jealous that you visited the city. I have been there in a while and I live about an hour away from it.
It was a long overdue trip
👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
@7:50 You're talking about David Johnson! The Word Famous Bushman. He unfortunately passed away a bit ago. He will be missed.
Minute 8 : Bubba Gump Shrimp Co 😁, would like to visit there someday
Remixed theme to Megaman 🤙😎
that Painted Ladies view, wasn't that in the movie 500 days of Summer or was it the Long Engagement?? lol
Great video...SF Marathon in the plan???
this vid makes me want t go to SF now
IMO you should do a running weekend In Washington or Portland Oregon I would do MT Hood timberline trail it's a 40 mile loop with 10k of vert very run able. One could do forest Park it 30 miles of trails.
Running the san francisco marathon next weekend for my first marathon!
Have a great race!
@@kofuzi got a 4:12! Had an even split on both halfs within a minute. Had a lot left in the tank I feel I could of gave and can't wait to push it harder next year! Happy running 🤙
Your travel Vlog skills are better than even the running ones..So it seems
Thank you. I know I’ve still got a long way to improve, but I’m enjoying the process
Where could I get that colourful World Athletics Championship 5 panel hat? :(
Need it!
Will you be in San Francisco for XC Nationals. The race will be at Golden Gate Park. The race is a week after CIM.Hope to see you there.
That sounds rigorous
@@kofuzi Yea your right. I will relay a CIM 1/2 to keep my legs fresh for XC Nationals. Hope to see there at Nationals since it should provide great content after all it is San Francisco. Bye the way Iam only going for the clam chowder 😁
RIP bushman, he sadly passed away a few years ago
Seeing your video of SF captured some of my memories of the beauty I remember. Hopeful the new DA will take action and make positive changes to bring it back.
Hallo from Germany 😊 great video 👍 perhaps you can answer me some questions, I am 67 years old and want to run in October London half marathon and next year in January Miami half marathon 😊I dreamed 50 years from San Francisco but never 👎 made holidays 😎 I was very much in Côte d’Azur France and Caribbean 😊now I thought many times if I should run the San Francisco half marathon, but I have often read that San Francisco has a great problem with criminal people and drug addicted people on the streets 😮 somebody told me you cannot go in the city in the evening or night without getting problems with people who are living on the street 😮is this right or what are you thinking of running in San Francisco ❤ would be happy 😃 for an answer 😅thanks from Germany 🇩🇪 btw: thanks for your nice video from Miami 😊
i would recommend trying a different news source
I've been to San Fransisco many times for running travel and family travel
@@kofuzi thanks, I will make the half Marathon next year
"The Wife" 😃
Sadly the bush man passed away a few years ago
Unfortunately the bush man passed away some time ago
While this video was being filmed, the rest of California was experiencing 100 degree temps. San Francisco? 59, windy & foggy.
It was chilly
Looks like a deserted dump
"Runner's Weekend" just a catch-all title?
It’s unusual for me to travel mid-week, so Runner’s Weekend is usually more technically correct. Some of this travel for this summer occurred during the week, but since I was not coming to these cities to sit at an office desk and work 9-5, it seemed unnecessarily pedantic to title two of the episodes something different
