It was one of the most pleasant and charming experiences I've had (among many in Thailand) chatting to Thai's and making friends and tasting the different foods that where offered by vendors who boarded at stops along the route. I am fairly sure you can go from the old Thonburi Station too and I have never had to book while for the Air Con trains you definitely do have to book
It felt good to see your travel story as similar a movie. Hope all of you enjoy to travel in several places of Thailand. I will spend my time at least 1 hour or more to learn your traveling experiences. Take care both of you.
Buses are your best option. They go between bus terminals and airports. Once at the Hua Hin terminal you transfer to a mini bus that takes you direct to your hotel. Happy travels
there busses going to hua hin too , think they leave from the airport and there two companies one a little more deluxe than the other , pretty regulairy and cheaper than a taxi or grab , according to the internet trip takes about 3.5 to 4 hours , does stop at only one spot in hua hin about the "new" train station , i think they where planning on high speed train links all the way to chiang mai , might even go further , not sure when it be finished , im kindah supprized there allready trains going to hua hin (likely old station there) hmmm correction that does look like thenew station
I've ridden the non airconditioned carts a lot and they're fine as long as you dont get a seat in the sun at mid day 🤣. Train is a lot better now after they built a second track down to hua hin. before it could take up to 8hours and always delayed for hours.
Yeah we would have just taken the non aircon train if it wasnt above 40 degrees and in the middle of the day 🥵 We felt we made the right decision and were able to enjoy a full day in Hua Hin when we arrived at 10:30am ☺️
Just found your channel guys and it's proving to be really helpful in planning my trip. I'm solo travelling Thailand soon and I'm gonna binge your content for tips. Thank you!

Plan your outdoor activities early in the morning and later in the day if you can, the mid day sun is brutal! Also taking an umbrella to shade from sun and lots of electrolytes. You'll have a great time, its the best city! 😍
Woo great advice I’ve trip to Thailand coming early May. Was plan take the AC train from BKK - HAU HIN to ask I to arrive BKK 5.30am 1st MAY. Does the Train operate daily or hit & Miss I read that in the future that train will go from Vietnam - BKKK - Hau Hin onward KUL - SIN
Hi Anthony! Glad you liked the video. Not too sure if the AC train goes from Bangkok to Hua Hin everyday. Check 12go. Asia website for more information. Have a great time and thanks for watching! ☺️
If you prioritized a budget-friendly transportation option or preferred air-conditioned travel, you could have simply headed straight to Ekkamai bus station. There, you'd find hourly departures of air-conditioned minivans to Hua Hin for just $6 each. Instead, opting for Grab taxis has likely cost you more than 500 baht and caused unnecessary frustration shuttling back and forth aimlessly. What a missed opportunity...
@@KristyandSteve most welcome... could inform your significant other, who has zero tolerance for spicy food... the further south you head in Thailand the spicier almost all local dishes will get...sometimes even inedible... 😂stick to fried rice and seafood on the islands. Happy Travels!
The new train station in hua hin opened in mid-December. You have made an excellent choice to book a room at thipurai City Hotel. I have stayed there 2 times. Fantastic food and people there, say hi from me 😊😊😊 if you are into massage, then you shall go to Roayl thai massage, fantastic massage there. Say hi from me there also 5555. Enjoy your trip. I'm looking forward to seeing your next video 😊
Hello Michael! Yes we were very happy with the Thipurai, perfect location isn't it! We have left Hua Hin though unfortunately (our videos are about 3 weeks behind real time) but appreciate the restaurant and massage recommendations! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment ☺️
Can I ask, if you are extending your stay by a month, what did you do about flights? When you got to Thailand did you have to show the airline or immigration your leaving flights or did you just tell them you were planning to extend your stay? Thank you 🙏
Hello! We did a 30 day VISA extension. We didnt have outgoing flights booked as we knew we were doing the extension. Didnt have to show anyone proof of outward flight , was a pretty simple and straightforward process. Thats not to say you wont be asked for proof of onward flight though, its a risk! Loving your videos. As someone who has lived in Bangkok for 8 years I’ve loved seeing where you’ve been and what you’ve done ✅. Thanks for sharing and btw good move to not take the “fresh air” train. I did this once to Lopburi and it was not fun 😅
What is the time do I needs to be there before the Train departure from the station to Hua Hin? Do I need to go through any custom check there before boarding the Train?
Hi Kristy & Steve. Glad you sorted out your rail dilemma. Stayed at The Centara Resort 5 years ago at Hua Hin the original Train Station apparently all modern station now. Kristy your comment that the station does not need to be this big - Oh! yes will in years to come accommodate Millions of Chinese they will eventually own Thailand & Myanmar. Its a pleasure to watch you both, may I ask if you are from Australia. I live on the Tweed Coast of Australia, and soon will be departing from BNE Airport to BKK Thailand to have a few months with my Fiancée then off to Australia to Wed. I will keep watching you travel to Hua Hin on the train. take Care John Mc ( Still watching the Video you have arrived at the Station yes it's all new )
Hi John! Thanks very much for watching & taking the time to comment. The Centara is a brilliant hotel from what we saw, just beautiful -we will stay there one day when we can afford it 😅 Yes, we are from Melbourne (here at the moment, definitely missing Thailand!). Enjoy your time when you visit and congratulations on your upcoming wedding 🥰
Research will only get you so far. Just always book everything ahead. Yes, train tickets online will cost an extra 100 baht, but it's so much better than travel frustrations. That said, no matter how much you plan, things will go wrong. That's part of the adventure. I've been traveling all over Asia since 1997, and you're doing fine.
We build this terminal for high speed bullet train their are under construction the track right now we build for the future in 10 years you can a bullet train from Europe to Asia
next time go to the east side, many beach and island there such as Koh Lan, Koh Samed, Koh Kood, Koh chang in Chonburi province, Rayong province ,Chantaburi province ,Trat province etc
Sorry guys. Your mistake was not taking the third class train. It's just fine. Cooler than you think with all the windows open and great fun with the locals and local vendors coming on at the stops. I'm a Canadian used to -20 to -30C and absolutely loved the trip third class from bkk to cha-am
Heya Tim! Maybe next time we'll give it a go. Its hit and miss with the third class train, a lot of people say it was hell, some say it was great. Everyone is different I guess! Thanks for watching ☺️
Why didnt you buy your tickets for the following day while you were at the station, saves paying 12go their cut. You can download the Thailand train app and buy tickets online for the same price you buy at the station.
Thanks very much, Garry! Glad you're enjoying the vlogs ☺️ We are currently back home in Melbourne, working full time while we figure out our next move. We've been travelling full time for 2 years and it was time to come home for awhile 🥰
Happy to compare notes. Been to Bali 16 times. Nusa Dua, Ubud, Seminyak, Nusa Lembongen, Legian area etc. Also Thailand 12 times. Pattaya, Rawai, Patong, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Bangkok etc
Thank you for sharing this Peter! Seems we annoyed a few people in this videos comment section for not getting the longer, non-aircon train 🤣 We cant stress enough that we do not care haha #teamaircon
Thank you for the video! New subscriber here. Honest question for you regarding your beard……How hot is it with your facial hair? I have a friend with a giant beard coming out in November and I’m afraid he’s going to overheat his facial. He does not do well in heat😳😂
Haha good question! Steve doesn't know anything different so its just normal for him - and he saves a lot on sunscreen 🤣 Thanks for watching & subscribing!
God people ...Smell the roses..... Your in Thailand...... Stop complaining...... Get a sense of adventure.... Put down your Lattes..... The train looks bland and boring, you may as well be back in Australia... Life and adventure starts when you step outside your comfort zone.....Sad....Mate, get some balls and take control.... You will both be happier.
Its a brilliant space and was good to experience SE Asias largest railway terminal at possibly its quietest. Wont be like that for long though as you mention, it will only get busier! ☺️
@@KristyandSteve My gf and I waited I think like 5 hours because I thought we could buy tickets at the station. I just thought we could but no. A Bus was given as an option and we said no thanks.
I just pay for a taxi 🚖 and not wait hours to save 50 bucks when I arrived at bbk the bus to pattaya had to wait over 2hours for the bus I just hopped into a taxi 🚖 😊 !
@@KristyandSteve If one had many days to "play with" then hours don't matte when it comes to transport I find. Otherwise, lack of planning creates undue stress.
Yep. I've been on trips for months and gotten stuck out in the middle of the rice paddies at 0430 on a broken down bus and had no stress about it since I had nowhere to be for two months. Others on the bus, very stressed out about connecting transportation that very morning.
Oh the non air-con train wasn't an option for us in the 40+ degree heat. It ended up being a lovely trip the following day in the comfort of the air conditioning (thankfully). Might give the bus a go next time though, a lot of people are saying that is the way to go. Thanks for watching, Graham! ☺️
Kevin, we are not on "holidays". We have been travelling full time for 2 years, we are simply living our day to day life. We also enjoy engaging with (most) people in our comments section, its nice to connect with people from around the world.
@KristyandSteve Jesus calm down I am sorry I did not resurch some ransom people vloging on tube Who have verry thin skins As I stated be fore if you don't want comments switch them off If your travelling is now your bussness I would suggest that you be nicer to your viewer's.
We are very nice to our viewers if you read every single comment we have made in over 100 videos. I suggest you be nicer to strangers on the internet if you dont want to be called out in the future 😉 Have a nice day wherever you are in the world!
As a Canadian ex-pat retired and living in Hua Hin go 10+ years, I am delighted to watch your video for an "unusual" reason.... 🎉😊 Just as "Huawei" smart phones are pronounced "Wah Wei" ( and Not pronounced "Hoo -ah - Wei" ! ) the correct - local Thai pronunciation - of "Hua Hin" is "Wah -Hin" . Great to see that you folks, as videographers , have got the correct pronunciation for HuaHin dialed in correctly ! ❤ Kudo's to you both. You just would not believe all the videographers who continue to embarrass themselves to 1,000's of viewers by mis-pronouncing the very name of the main subject in their video! Totally amateurish on their part and enough to make me hit the "good bye" button and not waste any more of my time watching their ( clearly poorly researched) content. If they can not get even this simple issue correct right out of the gate, then what sort of "Credibility" can any viewer possibly put on anything else they pretend to inform us about?
Would have liked to know where larger luggage is stored on the train, or if it has to be checked, then picked up someplace. That's kind of an important detail for an older traveller like me. Gave you an upvote anyway...
Hello! That is a valid question. So as you board the train, there are compartments for larger suitcases near the entrance doors. The overheard storage is quite big though, Steve carries a 25kg suitcase and his fit fine in the overhead. There is no option to check luggage as far as we are aware. Thank you for watching! ☺️
It seems so fascinating ,I think you should improve your video title, tags , add end screen, shared it in various social media platforms and most importantly add more ranking tags on video tag section. Then your videos can easily reach out to your lovely audience....🤍🤍🤍And All the best for your journey on youtube...!!!

Hi Randolph! You are so right. We definitely learnt our lesson and will stick to pre-booking what we can, early!
Thanks for watching ☺️
We build this terminal for high speed bullet train their are under construction the track right now we build for the future in 10 years you can a bullet train from Europe to Asia
That will be great! Felt like we were in an airport it was so big.
How many toilets were available to the trip?
On the train? Not sure, we didnt use them
What website did you use to book tickets
12go. asia
next time go to the east side, many beach and island there such as Koh Lan, Koh Samed, Koh Kood, Koh chang in Chonburi province, Rayong province ,Chantaburi province ,Trat province etc
We definitely will, thank you for these suggestions 🥰
Yeah, you can book in advance. Its a month in advance
Good to know, thank you ☺️
May i know the hotel you stayed.
Hello! Its the Thipurai City Hotel ☺️
Stevo, oyster omlete! Bro phuk that's brave. Love optimism. I might try Hua Hin before Kata next year. 5 days maybe
Highly recommend Hua Hin mate! 5 days is plenty long enough
What is the name of the hotel in wauhin
HUA HIN
Hi David, we stayed at the Thipurai City Hotel (highly recommend) - all info is in the video ☺️
We should have done this! Good tip, thanks Tim ☺️
Absolutely do not take open air train for trips longer than 2 hours. Only if it's cooler that day.
Glad we made the right decision and went the next day then! Thank you for watching ☺️
Super video guys. 😊❤
Thanks Garry! 🥰
@@KristyandSteve found your Channel this Arvo. 👍💪 It's Gold. Gonna watch more of yours now. Curious as to where you guys are travelling through now.
Thanks very much, Garry! Glad you're enjoying the vlogs ☺️ We are currently back home in Melbourne, working full time while we figure out our next move. We've been travelling full time for 2 years and it was time to come home for awhile 🥰
@@KristyandSteve we also live in Melbourne.
Happy to compare notes. Been to Bali 16 times. Nusa Dua, Ubud, Seminyak, Nusa Lembongen, Legian area etc. Also Thailand 12 times. Pattaya, Rawai, Patong, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Bangkok etc
The dark purple is from dark glutinous rice flour.
Thank you ☺️
Which beach is that?
The main Hua Hin beach near the Centara resort 😄
Just book a cab from bkk to hua hin and save time and avoid trouble.
Would consider this next time! ☺️
How much does this typically cost?
What station ?
Hi Tony, please complete your question so I can answer accordingly ☺️
How much taxi?
Hi Vincent. Do you mean taxi from Hua Hin station to our hotel? It was a Grab and from memory was only about 80-100 baht
Don't suppose you're still in Hua Hin?
Cheers Simon
Hey Simon! Unfortunately not, we are currently in Krabi (our videos are about a month behind). Are you guys in Hua Hin?
กลับมาเที่ยวอีกนะคะ😊
We will! 🥰
I tried to leave Mumbai by train and was told it was booked out for 3 months. Wouldn't let me sit on the roof, I miss the old days.
😮
I did the no aircon train from hua hin to Bangkok 4 hours 30 min . Would not recommend you did the right thing i was wreaked .
Thank you for sharing this Peter! Seems we annoyed a few people in this videos comment section for not getting the longer, non-aircon train 🤣 We cant stress enough that we do not care haha #teamaircon
Very impressive station hey
Extremely! Will be interesting to see it in 12+ months time - a lot busier I'd imagine 😅
Thank you for the video! New subscriber here.
Honest question for you regarding your beard……How hot is it with your facial hair? I have a friend with a giant beard coming out in November and I’m afraid he’s going to overheat his facial. He does not do well in heat😳😂
Haha good question! Steve doesn't know anything different so its just normal for him - and he saves a lot on sunscreen 🤣
Thanks for watching & subscribing!
Thanks for sharing your opinion and watching our video!
Well stated mate. 😊
In the near future, there will be high speed train run to Lao,Chiengrai , will be busier.
Its a brilliant space and was good to experience SE Asias largest railway terminal at possibly its quietest. Wont be like that for long though as you mention, it will only get busier! ☺️
Omg you folks are so hard done by.
Catastrophic hey!!! 🫠
a good mix of content, with a good down-to-earth aussie delivery. [phil nsw sth coast]
Thank you, Phil! 🙏☺️
That's why I rented an new car from Hertz cost $650 for 30 days. Well worth it in Thailand heat and traffic...
Absolutely worth it hey! We did end up hiring a car in a few of our upcoming vlogs, definitely the way to go 👍🏼
😂😂 Too Funny, keep listening to travel advice on-line and there you go.
You're not wrong! 🤣
@@KristyandSteve My gf and I waited I think like 5 hours because I thought we could buy tickets at the station. I just thought we could but no. A Bus was given as an option and we said no thanks.
Yeah thats fair enough! How did you end up getting to Hua Hin?
'Twelve Go'. Yeah, no. Let's try One, Two, GO. lolz.
Haha you get what I mean! 🤣
Thanks for the info
Hopefully you found it helpful, thanks for watching! ☺️
That is the Chatchai Market, better IMO than Tamarind or Cicada.
Thank you! ☺️
I just pay for a taxi 🚖 and not wait hours to save 50 bucks when I arrived at bbk the bus to pattaya had to wait over 2hours for the bus I just hopped into a taxi 🚖 😊 !
Taxi's and Grabs are fantastic in Bangkok aren't they! Thanks for watching our video ☺️
@@KristyandSteve I had the bolt app it come in handy a few times !
Oh we did hear a mention of Bolt, didnt try it though. Might give it a go next time, cheers John
Ohhhhhhhhhhh no, you should have caught a bus. Air conditioned. Same happened to me 😅
We'll keep the bus in mind next time. Thanks for watching ☺️
You know she made it a point that she is NOT a going on a non-air conditioning train and as a good man you agreed, or else..😂😉☺️
Haha basically! 🤣
Great, informative vlog. Steve, mate can you wear hat occasionally so we don't have to wear sunnies due to the glare coming off your head. 😂
🤣
Beautiful ❤
ขนมอร่อย 🤤😋🤪 ❤❤
Haha who's snacks were better though?
1st world mistake. Always book trains in advance. If the train is full go to Suvanabhumi airport gate 8 and get the VIP bus, very comfortable.
Yes true! Lesson learnt 🤣
How much does the VIP bus from BKK to Hua Hin cost? And how do you book it?
@@deanopumpkin About 235B if memory serves
Book online or at the airport desk. If you book at the desk be prepared for a wait. At least the food market is good and cheap
No aircon , no problem, the open windows ensure a cool breeze
Might give it a go in the slightly cooler months, it was 43 degrees when we were there 🥵
Hope you got a refund . The non aircon is fine with the window open . We travel from Darwin and it’s no hotter than what we are used to here .
oooh yes you'd experience those temperatures up north! Maybe we'll give it a go next time 😉 Thanks for watching!
Air con is very unhealthy. Would choose fan every time. Try living like a local.
Each to their own ☺️ Thanks for watching!
Lack of planning leads to this result. Been there, done that. Don't do it anymore.
You live and learn hey! 😅
@@KristyandSteve If one had many days to "play with" then hours don't matte when it comes to transport I find. Otherwise, lack of planning creates undue stress.
Totally agree
Yep. I've been on trips for months and gotten stuck out in the middle of the rice paddies at 0430 on a broken down bus and had no stress about it since I had nowhere to be for two months. Others on the bus, very stressed out about connecting transportation that very morning.
Nightmare train journey only did it once never again not fun at all suffering 😢 fly from Chiang Mai or if in BKK get the comfortable bus
😂😂😂
Air con train grab you are really doing thailands
Costa coffee and McDonald's next.
I know right! Crazy there are different people in this world who like different things! Dont be so small minded and judgmental, Kevin.
@KristyandSteve
you are supposed to be on holiday
Turn off you comments if you don't want people to actually make comments.
Kevin, we are not on "holidays". We have been travelling full time for 2 years, we are simply living our day to day life. We also enjoy engaging with (most) people in our comments section, its nice to connect with people from around the world.
@KristyandSteve
Jesus calm down
I am sorry I did not resurch some ransom people vloging on tube
Who have verry thin skins
As I stated be fore if you don't want comments switch them off
If your travelling is now your bussness I would suggest that you be nicer to your viewer's.
We are very nice to our viewers if you read every single comment we have made in over 100 videos. I suggest you be nicer to strangers on the internet if you dont want to be called out in the future 😉
Have a nice day wherever you are in the world!
Got love tourists, Somtum not Tomsum!
Oops! 🤣

Yeah, lolz
Sorry guys but penny pinching got U nowhere. Also after 7 mins I ditched the video. Kirsty's voice got right on my nerves.
Haha see ya! 😘
😂 listen to others or use your own common sense
True! 🤣
As a Canadian ex-pat retired and living in Hua Hin go 10+ years, I am delighted to watch your video for an "unusual" reason.... 🎉😊
Just as "Huawei" smart phones are pronounced "Wah Wei" ( and Not pronounced "Hoo -ah - Wei" ! ) the correct - local Thai pronunciation - of "Hua Hin" is "Wah -Hin" .
Great to see that you folks, as videographers , have got the correct pronunciation for HuaHin dialed in correctly ! ❤
Kudo's to you both.
Appreciate that, David! Thank you 🙏☺️ You're lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Thailand , we love Hua Hin!
@@KristyandSteve Thanks, that's very helpful, as I plan to take the train from BKK to Hua Hin next month. Peace
Enjoy Hua Hin!
Thank you 😊
