Used to be all cat guy..But last year I snow checked a 2023 Ski Doo Renegade xrs Competition.. Put 2000 miles on it this season ..No Regrets at all . I also have bikes and wheelers ..Need that throttle therapy..keep up the great videos
Ski doo tunnel scratchers work well. Can reverse with them deployed and place in holder when not needed. Brings my 4stroke temp down 30-40 degrees very quickly when needed.
Late season riding at its finest lol. There's a warming hut we stop at on days like today..kick back on the sled, grab some snacks, liquid container of your choice and soak up the spring time sun! Nice sled, glad to see you getting it running again before end of season. Cheers..
Glad to see you getting to ride it with all the work and time and money you put into it. Oh yea. Hook up that tether to your wrist! It does no good hooked to the handle bar. I see run away sleds happen all the time because the sled did not come with a tether. Safety first.
I'm with you there on getting out and riding the trails. Nothing compares to it. Oh and that is an uncouple sled so it's going to WHEELIE like crazy and lift the skis in the turns when ever on the throttle. So body language works a lot as does a simple tap of the brake.
@@Subydude-rp9yv oh wait yeah haha I literally was just talking about the quick adjust coupler blocks yesterday lol. Definitely likes to pick the skis up though, even on the 4th setting!
@Fairbanks Air Riders it's the same as the backcountry of the same year. I think 38... I'd have to grab my tape to my dad's garage tho. Summit is 36 and it wider than that.
I'm in the same boat as you (minus the mechanical issues) in that I just bought a new (to me) sled at the end of the season. Fortunately, we got 4'+ the same week that I got the sled, so I've been able to get out a few times before it melts completely away. I'm definitely wishing I had more season left. Enjoy the sled!
The tippyness is for the deep snow pow turns man. My ski stance is 34 inches most trail sleds are 40-42. Pretty sure that skid is different than a trail sled too I'm telling ya get into some deep stuff. Go up near Houghton MI sometime
Yeah, I think my last sled had a 48" stance, so this is a whole new experience. I've actually gotten use to it relatively quickly though and don't really mind. Definitely going to take it in some deep stuff next season!
You mentioned a back up sled. At this point I would suggest staying with skidoo g4 due to the fact you already have one. Fleets get a lot easier when stuff is the same.
They make a wide trail kit for those. It’s actually not very expensive. Also loosen up those ridiculous race shocks. All freerides and XRS sleds come with a ton of front preload and are really tight. You are a skinny guy so they are probably way way tight. That will help keep the ski down in corners a little
Oh yeah? Maybe I'll have to test one of those kits out! Reduce the preload on the ski springs? Or all the way around? (Ski springs and all three track springs?
@@SwankyCatProductions the only thing that really affects ski pressure a lot is front preload, preload on front rear spring and limiter strap. Other then that C&A skis help a ton. Which I know you know cause you had some before. Start with front preload though and front rear ahock preload. They are set crazy stuff on XRS skidoos and freerides with the crazy adjustable KYB pro shocks, that will help a Ton.
Yeah! I love snowmobiling, but by the middle of March when the sun is high and really starts to melt the snow I switch over to ice fishing. I had a nice season this year! Put on a little over 2,100 miles. How many miles did you get on?
I like the Chanel man but a free ride is not a trail sled so it will never work good on trails and also those things are a pain in the ass to work on even just changing rollers on your secondary you have to pull out your jack shaft to get to the doos clutch
Honestly I thought it would be much worse on the trail with the thin ski stance. Might have just been those expectations, but I'm pretty happy with how well it rides.
I feel that need too. I have 3 bikes but no sled. this winter was DISMAL. Almost lost my temper a couple times. Good thing it's starting to look more like spring here in MI or I would eventually go nuclear. Gotta get out in the woods on a bike soon.
Glad you got out and blasted some snow.have a good one brother 👊

Take her in some deep snow! Wheelie machine
It definitely pulls the skis up quick! I love it!
New sled looks fun, hope you get another chance or two to cruise around! Im ready for bike season though :P

Thanks! Yeah your right I should have it hooked up... I'll start doing that!
Or jacket
Sled I bought this year was in the shop 98% of the winter and I am over it so I am ready for warm weather to get the motorcycles out
Aww man, I feel your pain. That sucks. Definitely motorcycle time now though!
Glad to see you were able to get it out on the snow again. Glad you were able to enjoy it. Hope you can get a couple more rides in. Thanks.
Me too!!! Thanks!

Definitely!
Ha ha yeah it's a totally new feeling for me, I love it!
This is the 137 so it's still the rmotion coupled skid not the tmotion. it's still very playful with the narrow ski stance tho.

Curious how many inches wide is the ski stance on the Freeride.

Nice! Glad to hear your getting some miles on too!
you have to sit down and lean through the corners that will help.great video
Thanks for videos
Ben, you drove right past my house on this video

@SWANKY CAT I started riding off trail and haven't looked back since... it's way more fun imo next season I'm going out west

It's a G3. 2016
