Hey. Nice Boler. We just bought one last summer as well. NS. That metal bar by the door, I believe helps support the opening. Or for a screen door. Ours has a little wooden screen door, that a previous owner made.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, Boler trailers were manufactured in Earlton Ont, Calgary, Grand Prairie, Winfield, and Trail BC and originally developed and manufactured in Winnipeg
@pixels2u 0 seconds ago Just saw in another video that those silver bars are supports important to reinforce that part of the wall and keep the door frame from sagging, which will cause the door not to close properly. They said do not remove it.
We just bought a 73 Boler so was watching your videos. Haven’t watched ep 3 yet so the window question may be covered but I know with watches with plexi glass you can buy this stuff Polywatch to buff the glass. I also read toothpaste works. Cheers
Thanks!! I tried a couple different diy options. Toothpaste, bug spray, etc. They worked but only temporarily. I ended up buffing it with a product I found at Canadian tire. Turned out ok
Nice ours had new Window put in so thankfully that shouldn't my issue. I believe my big job will be redoing the lighting and I want to look into solar panels. Although we just picked it up so I still haven't found the 'oh shit' discovery that comes when buying something this old so those plans may change.
I’m redoing my 1967 unit. Floors done, benches re glassed in (worst job EVER!), and ready to make liveable again. BTW, I’m 7 ft and I share the bed with my wife. I plan to ditch the table for a semi permanent bed because I can’t sit there anyway.
Man, the door is in great shape, so is that frame.
I just picked up a 1982 Boler! Yours in much better condition than mine. Demo starts tomorrow. All the best from California
Love Bolers! I grew up camping in one! Loved camping and camping in the Boler left me many memories :)
There is a great video on YT diy two pneumatic wheels on the trailer jack 💕

Also the boler American Wichita
You may have figured this out already but that vertical square silver tube along the door is also structural. Helps with door and shape stability.

How exciting! Can't wait to see the process and end result. Good luck and have fun!
I just bought one too can not wait to make a video but I watched your vid to get a good idea of what I was getting
Thanks! I haven't done much since the cold season started. I can't wait to get back at it.
To clean up the windows, you might try Mother mag and aluminum polish. I use that to clear up my headlight when they get scratched and foggy.
