I have just finished reading The Devil's Picturebook, by Paul Huson. It's about the various pagan and neo-platonic origins of the characters in the major arcana. It was released in the 70s. I loved it!
I am adoring the videos you've produced on your journey, it's just a shame my Dad couldn't have seen these - he passed a year before you began, and one of the few items I inherited was a Tarot deck(along with a smattering of random instruments and books). It took awhile before I picked it up, but once I did it really stuck with me. It's been a wonderful process familiarizing myself with the deck and learning their meanings, re-interpreting them as I become more comfortable. He would have loved this Monty Python-esque style of teaching and discussion, I actually cried a little when watching the Fool's Journey because it reminded me so much of the things he loves. Open to all forms of spirituality, raised by a Christian author, a beloved, witty and comical fool he was. We had his memorial on April Fool's, in fact - because he was just that kind of guy. Now I have my own deck (smaller, I have hand issues) Tarot del Fuego, and have created an excel worksheet with several layouts that pulls definitions based on what cards you enter and their orientation. I hardly use that anymore, but it was quite helpful at the beginning. Anyways, sorry for my tangent but I really wanted to share how much I love these videos

Lovely video for my tea break. I read ALL of DuQuette's book and am obsessed with the Thoth tarot. He even goes a bit into detail about the colour scales and how Frieda Harris painted them.

Yes I'd like to learn how to do the spreads too. My tarot cards were sat in the drawer for years. I was too scared to use them. But now i know that nothing is bad or evil unless you want it to be. Also, the more i learn about the cards, the more i think they are brilliant for guiding people in life too as well as predicting the future. 🔮

This is a great list and Pollack's book is one of my tried and true go to's. I also like Mary K. Greer's Tarot for Yourself and for card interpretation, Anthony Louis.

Reviews said it had a condonsending tone, but i do not find that to be the case at all. It is more practical than occult, but Wen takes efforts to tell the history of things and get into some deep ( to me) referances and relations to cards and their meanings and how to take it in as a holistic experience.
Absolutely loved this video! I also have _78 Degrees of Wisdom_ in my library. Definitely gonna check out _Tarot Correspondences._ My recommendation to add: _Holistic Tarot_ by Benebell Wen. It really is a holistic guide to using tarot for self-discovery and spiritual/personal growth. Just know that the book is CHONKY but offers a wealth of information spanning everything from foundational knowledge, the aforementioned psychological and spiritual aspects, ethics, choosing your deck, to practical applications including exercises and meditation techniques. It's just an all-around great resource.
There is another tarot youtube channel I like that I think you're going to like as well. It's called Tea & Tarot, by Robert Farrah (he's also english). It's mostly tarot book reviews and deck reviews. In fact, I would very much enjoy watching some form of collab between the two of you :) I appreciate your content very much, all the way from Brazil

Rachel Pollack also wrote Tarot Wisdom. It is the follow up and revision of 78 Degrees of Wisdom. It has pretty much all of the info from 78 but goes into further depth. Instead of 78 Degrees of Wisdom I would recommend “Tarot Wisdom”. Also Tarot and Astrology by Corrine Kenner is a great book that introduces both the Tarot and Astrology and the correlation between the two. Really great starting point for anyone looking to know more about either subject or about how the two are connected.

Brother, thank you for your vídeos, i'm struggling a bit in finding my own meaning for the cards, any practical advise? My doubt come from the fear to be Just wishfull thinking
I think it all comes down to what your expectations are. I look at the Tarot as a psychological tool, they say your unconscious mind doesn't understand words but it does understand images & archetypes so the cards are a way of communicating with that side of ourselves. I'm quite rational minded so I don't believe in fortune telling. I've always said that the cards don't tell you the future, they tell you the present & from that you can get a pretty good idea of where you're heading. Don't give up, once you find that connection you've got it for life, just keep doing readings & thinking about how they apply. I've got a video on spreads coming soon that'll shine some more light on it ⛤

Best book on modern interpretations is Radical Tarot. It's written by a queer theorist but it doesn't matter what sexual persuasion you are so see that the interpretations are relevant and fascinating if a little politically biased.
I'm gay, and the last thing I'd want is a "radical, queer, modern, politically-biased interpretation" of timeless teachings that should go well beyond political biases (and especially identity politics). Sounds distracting to say the very least.

Brother, thank you for your vídeos, i'm struggling a bit in finding my own meaning for the cards, any practical advise? My doubt come from the fear to be Just wishfull thinking
I think it all comes down to what your expectations are. I look at the Tarot as a psychological tool, they say your unconscious mind doesn't understand words but it does understand images & archetypes so the cards are a way of communicating with that side of ourselves. I'm quite rational minded so I don't believe in fortune telling. I've always said that the cards don't tell you the future, they tell you the present & from that you can get a pretty good idea of where you're heading. Don't give up, once you find that connection you've got it for life, just keep doing readings & thinking about how they apply. I've got a video on spreads coming soon that'll shine some more light on it ⛤

They sent me A tinkers damn a totally different book altogether 😡 I'm leary about ordering any more books but there's not much of an option where I'm at 😕 Great video 😊 thank you 😊

Best book on modern interpretations is Radical Tarot. It's written by a queer theorist but it doesn't matter what sexual persuasion you are so see that the interpretations are relevant and fascinating if a little politically biased.

I'm gay, and the last thing I'd want is a "radical, queer, modern, politically-biased interpretation" of timeless teachings that should go well beyond political biases (and especially identity politics). Sounds distracting to say the very least.
