What was wrong with the RX-7? In other videos from other years the car keeps up and does very well against this competition. See videos from 1999 for example.
There was no NSX-R during this time. But this one did very well. I think this one also ran in Fuji where it whooped the V-Spec II Nur R34 on the straight.
To answer my own question the fd is only a RZ spec and not a spirit type r spec so the performance is down compared to the others as they are all top specs in those cars

For year 2001, it's the Version 6 era, the lowest spec would be the Type-RB, then there is Type-R (also some Type-R Bathurst/ Bathurst R tuned by Mazdaspeed, they have carbonfiber dashboard and adjustable suspension with louder/ less limited muffler) , the highest spec would be the Type-RS, however, as a tradition, the very limited RZ edition would be the actual highest and fastest spec of the FD, with Forged BBS wheels and Recaro bucket seats, and it's only a 2-seater compare to other's 2+2 layout. The one you are talking about would be the very last model of FD called Spirit R (which came out in 2002, of course it's not in here), and it have three different spec, Type-A Type-B and Automatic transmisson Type-C. But, even the most track focused Type-A spec are very very similar to Type-RZ, same wheels, same seats, same 2 seater layout, same engine power. The reason why the FD are so slow in the video is because due to the hose problem, it can't build turbo pressure.
The Toyota MR2 was faster around this course than the Supra. Even the Honda Integra Type R and Mitsubishi GTO had on average stronger finishes than the stock Supra.
@@znbmorningstar imprezas are always like to go understeer, Subaru did it in this way to give it better rally performance in factory condition, meanwhile EVO's production models are focusing on tarmac performance since Gen3 with more and more neutral or even oversteer quality compare to very understeer-like EVO gen 1

It's a lack of boost pressure due to a problem with the air hose coming off.

サーキット走行で酷使しているせいでしょうか?各車体のメンテやコンディション差がある様ですね。
R34もこの車体はVスぺⅡらしいですが以前の青の車体の時よりこの銀の方が明らかに全て好調に見えます。

VスペⅡは標準車比較で最低地上高が10mm低いです。それに加えてフロントアンダーディフューザーが付きますから低く見えて当然かと。遠目から見ても全然違いますよ。
