    I’m so amazed how this railroad came back after such a long time. Props to everyone who volunteered and helped restore that beautiful steam locomotive!

    Thank-you so much for showing us a day on the railroad. I appreciate it. It is so wonderful to see the old 70 running and delighting the folks, who love to ride with her. She is the blood of Elbe.

    This is dream footage for a MRSR fan. I got to travel from NY to Seattle to see some family in 2015 and we were able to make the trek down to ride the train behind 17. Very grateful for you guys for doing your best to bring everything back!

    Turret lines all looking good. Now the dang f-side starter valve is leaking. *Insert Rowdy banging head against wall*
    Engine sounds good and square. You guys are doing great.

    Thanks so much for putting this up here for us.
    For many this is as close to a cab ride as we'll ever get.
    Looking forward to the next time I get to ride with you guys.

    My whole life I’ve wanted to visit the MRSR (I’d have to cross dozens of states to do it!) and thankfully you guys have saved me from having to nail that dream in a coffin. Kudos to all of you and cheers into 2024!
    (P.S. I hope Rowdy got some stogies for Christmas)

    Well done video. You really captured the feel of a working railroad. The music was spot on, especially the first guitar piece, it reminded me of the haunting theme from Twin Peaks. Good job.

    70 really is so special. Do you guys have any future plans for the Northern Pacific F9 7012A? I see it in videos but I’m curious whether it is operational or not, as well as an appearance any time soon. The horn on that engine is amazing! Thank you for preserving these beautiful relics

  • @billyrueckert5113

    Only 3 cars today, bummer. I bet ridership will pick up in 2024.

    • @mtrainierrail
      @mtrainierrail  6 місяців тому +2

      3 cars is currently our max. We'll have two more on the train sometime next year - with a small parking lot, and only a month or two to get the train ready, we were limited on capacity. The good news is, it keeps our overhead relatively low so we're able to reinvest most of the earnings into infrastructure projects. Right now, keeping things manageable has a lot of advantages for us.

      If your referring to 6:05, (QV64+F67 Park Junction, Washington) it looks like a short siding and a currently abandoned Y. Digging into the history, it looks the railroad expanded out to Ashford by 1905 when Mt Rainer National Park was created (in 1899). However the main freight line still went south to Mineral, and onto Morton. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tacoma_Eastern_Railroad#Independent_corporate_control_and_the_Mount_Rainier_National_Park
