Heheh I know what you mean. Fortunately I am not a UA-camr, I don’t need to make money from it. So I can go straight to the point. Many content creators are forced to dilute their content to place more ads.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you for the detailed yet short explanation. This is probably the only video about FMOD that doesn't last 40 minutes and actually solves your questions.
Thank you, I hate those long videos that could have been an email too. I am not a UA-camr so I don’t have to dilute my videos to place ads. These videos are just additional teaching material for the interns that work with me at Mad Wave Audio
I'm really enjoying listening to the excitement of the "Main Theme" right now, and encourage you (if you so feel inclined) to do more behind-the-scenes of your creative artistry! Like how did you collaborate with Tina Guo? Anyway I hope you'll post more FMOD and adaptive music tips 'n' tricks!
Hi Jef, you are my 1000 subscriber indeed. I am a very old UA-cam user, lost most of my followers when I switched my channel from guitar lessons to music and sound design, and lost my monetization when they set the 1k users policy. Thanks for following my channel.
I usually do videos as supplemental material for the masterclass I teach once a year. Unfortunately or fortunately, work keeps me quite busy, but I do have a new masterclass coming up soon, so I’ll most likely make a few extra videos.
It can be done with the loop regions too, but I like to use the markers because you can add multiple looping points to further randomize the track, and maybe loop certain section of the track. Just another idea.
The tile is a click bait :) Yes you can also use loop regions, but there is a part 2 that I haven’t had the time to make yet, where I explain why is better to use markers instead of loop regions. Which in short is that you don’t have to always loop from the end, but you can randomize and loop different section of your compositions like a DJ would do when performing a song live with cue points. At some point I’ll do it.
I think it’s mandatory to keep an edge in the industry to have a basic knowledge of what audio middlewares can do. Not necessarily because you’ll be the one doing the implementation, but to understand the limitations, and the creative possibilities that these softwares offer to you as a composer.
Yes you can use loop regions too. I don’t use loop regions because you can’t randomize the end of the loop. With markers you can have multiple destinations, set with different priorities and weights, and you have more options on how to you get in and out of loops and how your music transition to other pieces of music. These are just rules on how you navigate a piece of interactive music. Visually the UI might be different, but in the end they all accomplish the same thing. I prefer what gives me more options.
A tutorial that goes straight to the point and doesn't last for 10 minutes! Thank you!

@@JoeKataldo Ditto! Also it's such an elegant implementation of the concept compared to Wwise. That's why I love Fmod!
@@ninomojo FMOD UI is so protools 8
Perfect! To the point and exactly what I needed! Thanks for this!
I’m glad this was helpful to you. I am posting part two next week

I am glad it helped you. More videos soon
This is great! I had a problem where I have to listen to the whole loop to hear the loop happen, this also solves that problem. Great video 🎉
That shouldn’t be an issue, regardless of what type of system you use, but I am glad if fixed that problem for you.
Just what I'm looking for! thank you!
Thanks, I need to find the time to record part 2
Great video! Your music sounds awesome!
Thanks Nick!
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!

Funny enough, I am recording a walkthrough of the Main Theme right now. Should be up later in the evening.
Very helpful tutorial, thanks!
I am glad it was helpful.
I hope I just got you monetized! Thanks for the vids!

Sei un grande. Un abbraccio forte
Grazie!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!~
You're welcome!
Thank you so much! If you can please do more Fmod tutorials, cheers!

Awesome video!! Thank you my friend!
Thank Nick, I am glad it was useful to you.
WHAT. That’s awesome

Maybe the video is outdated, but now you can add transition timelines for loop regions. This method seems to be obsolete for that reason.

I really should learn some middleware at some point!

FMOD is great! If you have experience with any DAW, FMOD is going to be easy to learn.
Hello, for some reason, the reverb tail will not play out on my end for some reason, I have it set up just as you instructed... any ideas?
Sorry, but I would have to look at the project to help you out. Hopefully you found a solution by now.
You just did what loop regions already can do but with extra steps since loop regions also support transitions.
