Judy is battling cancer. God Bless her for all the joy and laughter she has brought to millions of fans over the years. I pray she gets through it with love and laughter
I randomly found out about Judy two days before she passed, watched a lot of her stuff on youtube, developed a crush, saw her in a dream the following night...even her newer videos are great. Imagine if someone had given her a sitcom or a movie in her prime...idk why she hasn't been talked about more (at least that I'd heard of) her brand of surreal chaotic femininity is as funny and exciting as ever, RIP
Judy never attained super stardom status because she was uncompromising, and burned a lot of bridges just being who she is. She was that type of comedian, kind of like Joan Rivers, who in her comedy, criticized those at the top, the A-listers, and that's a sure remedy for being cast on the fringe. But, she had a good career and anyone, who watches this short clip, who had the honor of seeing her live, couldn't do anything but, LAUGH! I saw her live in the late '80s at the Palladium on 14th Street NYC, a theater long gone.
@@sheilamarie1481 That was her brand. She parodied those that were in the public eye, celebrities. Show business is fickle, especially for women. Judy worked her whole life. So she wasn’t blacklisted 100% and I imagine, made a decent living. I don’t know the details in that way. She was an original, and very funny, timeless even.
I remember seeing this special when it was originally aired with "upcomers" like Paula Pundstone and Ellen DeGeneres. They were all funny, but Judy left them in the dust with sheer talent and originality. I was very saddened to hear of her death from the ovarian cancer she had been fighting for so long. RIP, Judy, you deserve the rest, and know that nobody could fill your spot in the comedy pantheon.
I loved Judy since the first time I saw her in Elmhurst, IL in like 1980. I know she was with Emo Phillips for a while, which tells you she wasn't just acting - she was authentic weirdo. I love her still!
There was one joke she had, I think it was cut out here because she was just about to talk about it, she said her friend wanted to meet someone macho yet sensitive and Judy said 'like what, a gay truck driver?' LOL...The first time I heard that I fell out of my chair..That was so f-ing funny....you cannot possess me, no!
She's so fucking funny, especially for the era. She could have been much more raunchier, but she wasn't. She was a touch of class with lot of sass. Sexy, too.
So unlike Joan Rivers, whose filthy loop of ugly and unfunny raunch cemented her as a talentless, mentally lazy shill with a routine that was no longer shocking, or with Shock Value, just sad and seriously profane. It didn't have to be that way.
@@richardiritano1197 Joan was crass but she deserves credit for making her name in an industry that was strictly a man's game. For her to host The Tonight Show when Johnny was on vacation was monumental at the time - a woman hosting late night tv was unheard of! She was a breakthrough comedian and today's female comedian's always credit her with being among the best. The stuff that came later like "Fashion Police" and the whole "who are you wearing" bit was definitely an acquired taste but Joan deserves credit for being a pioneer.
Judy is really brilliant, but how she married Emo I'll never know. That must have been a wild honeymoon... that's an amazing comedy sketch, Emo Phillips and Judy going at it...
I wish she would have continued to progressed, like George Carlin, in terms of reinventing herself. I mean, as far as interesting and dynamic women comedians... there are so few (even her standard period jokes are great). She is/was incredibly gifted and I wish she was more prevalent in the media. Just saying... if that makes any sense.
Faked large audience laugh and clap participation audio..but they show the crowd here and they all looked bored to tears. No one was clapping or laughing much less smiling or barely even a grin.. Cameras eye doesn't tell a lie.
I love comics who are kinda off the wall but stay away from really raunchy stuff. Judy was hilarious. 😂😂😂
"I am bloated with acceptance"....Hysterical!!!

RIP Judy. You still make me laugh
best ending ever! "you people mean nothing to mee!"

@@rufusred44That was a good answer. She wouldn't sell herself out to be in the club.

When I was a lot younger I was lucky enough to deliver furniture to her. She was very nice and tipped my co-worker and me very well.

it COULD happen.
Rest in Peace, Judy. You'll have them laughing up in heaven!

Where has she been all my life? An intelligent feminist!!
my all time favorite is George Carlin (rip)
hahahahaha lets go back in time

Period jokes? I never heard her do any period jokes. She was not gross like that.
Rest in Peace Goddess
