Prof McGrath talks for ages and asks questions without ever really saying anything! Think about this, imagine that, he argues this; all without any real conclusion.

@@gottlobfreige1075 In his defence there's not many university lecturers that have the courage to question our place in the universe by using a quote from a unicorn 53:40

He talks a lot without actually saying anything, a skill to learn

A skill more commonly found among our politicians .

Why not try figuring out the answers for yourself . ? Either that or just buy a copy of Theology For Dummies !

I love the Gresham lectures, but McGrath bores me to death - he dances around subjects without really ever saying anything of note

Not just me then. I dont expect a sermon, and I really don't want a sermon. Gresham usually has great lectures. This was definitely not one.

    Gresham, thank you for sharing.
However, it seems the good Professor has asked his own existential question as a personal crisis of confidence requiring a carefully worded answer, that he essentially does not answer for himself. Is he a Vicar ?
The question was really "Am I, Alister McGrath, Lost in the Cosmos ?" I dunno, too bored with the way he mainly talks to himself as if he is alone in the room. 20 mins, good bye.

    We are not lost,
we are at the center of the known universe.

Immigrants end up more comfortable in their new country than in their old. They escape their obligations at home yet still maintain a sense of unified identity. It's worked very well for the jews.
America isn't home to Americans but to Native Peoples. The early Americans had no allegiance to the land. If a place was too hard they just left. Today, immigrants in America live better lives than Americans do.
Keep your language, keep your culture, get a degree in law or pharmacology or psychology, then send all your money back home. It will be waiting for you when you retire and move back.
    Yay America.
