because in late game situations the defense has folded? vs tampa 2 minutes left gives up the game tying TD to send it to OT, following week they let denver drive into FG range for the win, special teams block the FG to bail them out of that game, following week they get killed by the bills, following week they give up a late game tying td drive by the panthers plus 2 pt conversion, following week the raiders have a game winning drive against them chiefs get bailed out by that botched snap, following week defense gives up a late drive to the chargers where they take the lead in the 4th. thats 6 straight weeks where the KC defense cannot hold a lead at the end of the game. on top of week 1 vs baltimore. so its definitely fair to say that if your defense is incapable of stopping anyone at the end of the game that they kinda suck.
