Manned by Reza Oktovian, Eka Gustiwana, and Gerald Liu, a single titled Lathi was released as their new ammunition through the Indonesian music industry. Lathi itself is taken from the ancient Javanese language which means speech. Weird Genius also took Sara Fajira, a young singer who had been awarded the Planet Muzik Award from Surabaya. In his song, Lathi tells about a toxic relationship in the lives of young people who are dominated by lies, egos, but implies courage to deal with unhealthy relationships.
Weird Genious is a DJ trio feat singer Saja Fajira: they mix folk dance, Indonesian music with techno and pop. "Lathi" in old Javanese means tongue, but in the context of the lyrics it really means someone's "speech". Basically one's integrity or self-worth is reflected through someone's speech; either it's truthful and helps your loved ones grow, or full of lies and let him/her down. There's an Indonesian proverb with a similar message: "one's tongue can be sharper than knife."
