Excellent video. I too have this generator and have been very happy with it. I have a 50amp inlet wired to a 240v, 10 circuit Reliance transfer switch and it works like a charm. I did float the neutral using the method another guy mentioned. With the 50 amps, it is a tad confusing. When running it in 240v mode, 120v appliances run at half the amperage they would run if the generator was strictly 120v. For example, a 1500w 120v space heater that would be 12.5 amps on a 120v generator, only registers as using 6.25amps on the meter of this generator when flipped to 240v using the 50 amp outlet. So this one generator will power a good bit. Outside of, electric water heater, heat pump and electric range, I basically run everything in the house.
@@DadofBallers have you run long enough to gauge fuel consumption? I noticed the manual states a much higher gas usage than the product page on the website
@ I have not. Haven’t had to use it yet but will come back if I do. Those numbers definitely don’t match up. I’m not overly though since it’s only a small tank. If it was a 6 gallon tank Id be much more concerned. Lol
@ no but you can feed a 240v transfer switch with 240v and then power 120v devices from that. I’m just saying that the worry about only having 23 amps is only a concern if you are running only 240 devices and need more than 20amps at 240. This thing will run a lot 120v things.
Your explanation of everything this generator offers is excellent! I've been in the market for a generator for a while now. Thanks to your video, I placed my order from Sam's club. Great information that was clearly explained in such a way that made me feel confident to buy my 1st generator. Again, thank you for all the time and effort you put into making this video! 💪💯

I called and phone was quickly answered by someone in the states!! Answered my questions, parts available if needed. Sold me, only have about 10 hours on it no problems. As a load test, Charges my EV from 14-50 plug with level 2 no issue.
@@ThanksForTheLaugh that’s great to hear, this generator really has been on point everytime I have ran it, and I couldn’t agree more on CS these days, I actually broke a piece the second time I was running it (had absolutely nothing to do with the manufacturer or build, was completely my fault), called their CS and got someone on the phone right away, explained exactly what I had done, they told me they’d have a new part shipped within the week, the following week I received the part and was installed like nothing happened ! 😂
I deliberate sometimes on doing videos about various things and I have this exact same model. I installed a Reliance PB50N 50 amp power inlet box to the house with the interlock kit. I also had to add a sub panel to move over the two circuit breakers for the outside HVAC units so I would have room in the main meter box for a 50 amp breaker for the generator. I've ran a test twice for an hour each on our 3,000 sq/ft house and I can run everything except either HCAC unit (a 5 & 2 ton Rheem 2 stage Heat Pump), electric washer & dryer, and the water heater. If I buy a 2nd generator and the parallel kit, I would be able to run the 5 ton unit with a soft start plus the water heater. If I decide I need that. lol I can run all the outlets and switches, all lights (LED), ceiling fans, 2 fridges, 2 garage door openers, front & back outside lights, 3 TV's, my network rack for internet, and the septic pump if it happens to kick on. If I choose what's running, I can alter enough to run dishwasher, microwave, air fryer, etc., depending on what we need. I run on propane.
I just ordered my 2nd GM7500aIED from Sam's Club (was able to get it for $799 again since they showed me asking about it awhile back) and a GM9000PK parallel kit. I'll be able to run a single if it's a short outage or I can parallel for 11,000 watts on propane which will let me run the water heater and potentially the 5 ton HVAC unit with the soft start. It'll be nice to have just in case we get one of those great thunderstorms during spring or summer when it's hot as heck out. So basically two of them and the parallel kit for about $1820 with tax and have 15000/12000 watts on gas and 13000/11000 on propane. Thankfully I have a 250 gallon tank outside. :)

Hello! I finally found a parallel kit that will work with 240 volt generators. I would need 2 of these units because of my well pump. My question is: Are the terminals for a parallel connection the square type or the round type? I'm hoping its the square type. Thank you in advance!
Yes I do....I have the same one. There is a video on UA-cam showing it if you search, also. But to do it, remove the front control panel....just the smaller panel....not the whole thing. The wire you want to disconnect is the white wire on the left (facing) GFCI 120v outlet. You can remove the one on the side of that plug or on the bottom. One of the white wires will come off and the other will stay. You can tell the difference. Tape up the terminal and put back together then test the terminals with a DMM to verify. You can make or buy a bonded neutral plug easily if you ever need to run the generator to other things. I bought a blank 30 amp RV plug (the one to the left of the 240v plug) as that one will never get used. I tested the generator yesterday via the 50 amp power inlet box to my house and it worked awesome. I had all of the breakers on except for the upstairs stuff, the two HVAC units, and the water heater. We have a gas oven and gas fireplace insert so no worries there. Ran it for an hour and on average use with 2 fridges, TV on, network rack, lights, switches, we were under 900 watts of use so ran on Eco mode. Then the septic pump kicked on and dimmed the lights but it caught up. I moved it back to regular mode at that point. Great little generator.
