I have an interview at Mayo in 2 weeks 😊 how/why did you pick Mayo as I saw you were interviewed at several amazing schools? And how do you feel about Mayo after having been there for med school?
Congratulations on getting an interview invite to Mayo! There’s a huge benefit to having such small class sizes and a massive hospital institution (mentorship, research opportunities, resources, etc.). I also couldn’t imagine a better place to set the foundation for my career in medicine than the historic Mayo Clinic. My wife is also from MN and her parents are like 30 minutes away so that played a significant toll as well. It was definitely the best decision I could’ve made.
Hey man, thank you for this video!! I got an interview invitation for Mayo for a couple of weeks from now, and I was wondering whether it would be possible to chat with you through email a little bit more about your interview experience? It's my absolute top-choice!
Did your fellow co-applicants at the interview have similarly pleasant experiences during their interviews? Great video, huge kudos to you on your acceptances!
Thank you so much! And I believe they did! I am still in touch with a few of them and from what I can tell they enjoyed the majority of their interview experiences. Formats will vary at schools and some will be more enjoyable than others for certain people, but all in all I think most applicants end up enjoying it more than they expect to. 🙌🏽
@@ameliac504 I actually really like it! I’m from Denver so I was accustomed to a decently sized city. But I really enjoy the pace here. I thinks it’s pretty conducive for medical school and there’s still a large city about an hour away in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Rochester is like a medical city because of Mayo and it feels very different than the surrounding farm towns. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you so much for this video! It's super informative!! I recently received an interview invite from Mayo Clinic and would like to chat with you off-line about the process if possible. Please let me know what is the best email to reach you for questions, and thank you again!
Thanks for your great videos! Just wanted to point out that the interview rate at 2:15 should be 3%!
You’re completely write! Right after I posted this video I noticed that 🤦🏽♂️ lol. Surprised you’re the first one to catch it! Haha
Phenomenal JR!!! Absolutely phenomenal!! Keep praising God in all your adventures and there is NO DOUBT you will continue accomplishing greatness!!
Thank you so much! And Amen! HE has gotten me here and I trust HE will bring me to where I need to be 🙏🏽.
@@EvolvingMedic Indeed HE will!!
Congratulations on the interview and much fortune in getting accepted. Looking forward to seeing this come together. 😎... And Duke too👏
Thank you so much! 🙏🏽 I’m excited to share every step of the journey!
A terrific video! (Signed, someone who went through the med school interview and was admitted to the school of my choice)
