Thanks for your sharing ❤ In fact, wind protection is not new. And it was also used from the dry winds in the Orenburg region, which blew from Kazakhstan. My grandmother, who is now 90 years old, said that as students they went out for 2 weeks in the field, lived in tents and planted at least 3 strips of forest. It was in Stalin's time in Russia
Thank you for the this information Svetlana. Before agricultural revolution people used to approach the land in a sustainable way and the bond with nature was strong. I trust that a big population in your country has still the valuable knowledge of sustainable land management. Who knows maybe you could interview relatives and other people and write a book 😀 ? All the best ❤
@granvisio in fact it was "The great plan for the transformation of nature in the USSR". (Stalin's program) You can find this topic in the internet. It's special program to win hunger and opportunity to feed other world. Unfortunately the next boss Khrushchev stopped this program. If this had been done, people would have conquered hunger. Russia has the coesperological theory about death of Stalin: because his plan was about peace in the world 🌎 Book..Maybe I did it. I could have a long life.😊
Hi! Thanks for watching! So, in case of windbreaks the principle is the same. I'd look at the direction where the most persistent winds come from if you'd like to reduce their speed, and see what native species in your area are known for withstanding strong winds and plant them where you to block these winds. If you want to grow crops in between the shelterbelt, check if the trees wouldn't shade the sun loving crops like grains. That's why as with any design it's important to consider the sun pathway during the day.

Hey there, the link for the PDF on nitrogen fixing appears to be broken! Any chance we could get that?
Hi! I've checked and the link seems to be working. Try this one instead and open it in new private window: learning.granvisio.com/wdm
Very useful as I am trying to build a eco village in a third world Asian country.
Hi , would love to know about your project - any chances to share a webpage with info or a contact ?
Would you reverse this plan if you live in southern hemisphere? We are in Tanzania
