In this episode of Tarikh, Aastha discusses the reasons for the success of the British conquest of Bengal. After the death of Aurangzeb in 1707, Bengal was ruled by the Nawabs. The East India Company was getting stronger and started doing arbitrariness in trade. By the time Siraj-ud-daula, grandson of Ali Vardi Khan, became the Nawab of Bengal in 1756, the British had started building fortifications in Bengal. Siraj-ud-Daula did not like this arbitrariness and fortification of the British. He resisted and captured Fort William. But after this, in 1757, his own people betrayed him.Siraj-ud-Daulah was revolted by his general, Mir Jafar. After which Siraj-ud-Daula had to make a treaty of Alinagar with the British on 9 February 1757.

No British did not rule india for long, just a century! And they were faar better than the tyranny of the Nawabs and Sultans and Rajahs they had overthrown. So British were a lesser evil than likes of tyrant Sirajudaulla

Bengal nawab defeated because of when murshidquli khan transfer the capital from Dhaka.Dhaka is a geopolitical importment city and those time it had 3 big river all side that could not conquer.But murshidquli transfer the capital.
But Murshidabad is better location... because....that time bengal also includes Bihar and some part of oddisa as well
