as all-four corners were sheared off when my cat decided to launch herself into it, we inserted the new corners (bought at the local hardware store, $3) but since one-half of the corner could not be pulled out at all, we had to push down that part further into the frame while hammering the new corner inside, too. There was no way to get the old corner out, even with a pinch-clamp tool. That's how we saved the screen and was able to reinstall it in the window frame.

Can I use a grinder for a cleaner cut instead of saw
A grinder with a cutoff wheel probably would give a nice clean cut. A miter saw with the blade flipped could work too.
