Maybe you are trying to open the C++ source file? You need to download it from the latest releases here: github.com/ScienceDiscoverer/steamscrd/releases Download streamscrd.exe, and then put it in any folder you want (better not in the system folders) and launch. It's an executable file so it will never ask for what app to use for opening, the file IS the app.
I downloaded this program but for some reason it doesn't work right: anytime I put in any ID, it'll accept it, create a folder or folders for that user, but then seemingly crash without actually downloading any of the screenshots. Any ideas?
Hmm... First thing that come to mind is maybe the path where program creates folder has some non ASCII characters in it... Maybe try it in the root of drive to be sure. Also if you can run it with some debugger attached and tell why exactly its crashing would narrow down the reasons. Also maybe try to download some other random user's screenshots (you can try my own, if you want) to confirm that its the problem with your screens/ID in particular.
@@ScienceDiscoverer It creates the folder(s) in the same folder the program's .exe file is in, & I have no experience with running debuggers. I tried both yours & my own: neither those nor any of the others I've tried work.
@@ScienceDiscoverer Oh: the first time it also said something about "Found no screenshots on page #1! Retrying in 2 seconds...": right after that it closed for whatever reason.
@@ScienceDiscoverer I've since tried two other Steam screenshot downloaders, both of which also don't work for whatever stupid reason. Also though I'd mention that these attempts have been with numbers since it seems like that's what every Steam profile uses: neither that nor putting what are _supposedly_ proper names work (though with the latter the program at least says that the user can't be found before & after trying several times to find them).
@@ScienceDiscoverer So...are you going to try & help me resolve this issue I'm having? I _really_ want to be able to use this thing properly since it saves both the dates *&* the descriptions as well as the screenshots themselves, which would _greatly_ reduce the amount of work I'd have to do.
[E123] The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. In CreateFileW line 1127. - i Keep getting this error, i don't know why. Also thanks for this software.
I think this happens because program fails to create directory where screenshots will be saved, so nothing can be saved! Try to place the program into the root of the D:\ drive or maybe in the documents folder on C:\ drive if you don't have D drive.
@@ScienceDiscoverer I did place it in the root of a drive. The software created a folder under my steam profile name and even started downloading screenshots but it i get this error on certain screenshots where i have to press space to skip it but at one point the error kept on repeating.
@@SpirallingSpiral github.com/ScienceDiscoverer/steamscrd/releases I fixed some common bugs recently. You can try the latest release and see if it fixed the problem. If not, I encourage you to create an Issue on the GitHub page, as it is not very easy to track issues on UA-cam!
Steamscrd wont open, it always ask which App should be used for opening. Can you explain how to reach the Window you showing in the Video please?

@@ScienceDiscoverer Ok the error seems to be triggering when downloading custom screenshots from non-steam games.

@@SpirallingSpiral Can you give me a command to reproduce it? Like this: steamscrd.exe >YOUR_STEAM_ID< spage=NUMBER_OF_PAGE_WHERE_YOU_GET_ERROR
