Why are we replacing playgrounds for kids with art for adults?

Just a bit of a rant video about the proposal for upgrades to the Holliday park playground. Parks are having this type of design more and more and it's just not intuitive for kids to play on, it's often times more dangerous for kids to play on, and it's just worse in every way except looking sleek and modern for adults who like that kind of thing. Seriously, every time we go to a park like that, the boy stands there kind of confused, finds something to play with for a few minutes and then is ready to leave. Whereas the park with the full playground he could run around on for hours having a grand ole time.
Also, my sincerest apologies for the dinging from my laptop during the screen record. Thought it was just in my headphones, turns out I was wrong, and I wasn't going to re-record that. :)

it really just looks like a collage student got assigned to design a playground and came up with these goofy individual playspots that look cool but arent actually fun to play on
