I was tapping 580kts at the last lookin, so must have been up to 600kts when I levelled out. Pressure wasn't very low that day, so Mach number not so impressive as it might have been if it was like today's 998mb ! Thanks everyone who pointed me to this post. Jonathon
Jonathon Whaley this was such an incredible flypast, there's something about the hunter that just takes your breath away. We really need a compilation of all your incredible displays.
Fantastic fly pass beat up , love roar of that Avon engine , reminds me of our war time in Rhodesia as we used the Hunter then , our pilots if successful on their sorties returned to the airbase with a victory roll spiralling upward , gave me goose bumps , thanks for your display of great skill . 🙏🏻👌

Hawker Hunter best looking airframe ever; RR Avon best sounding aircraft power plant ever.

When there's low pressure like that it's easy to create that water vapour effect on the wings and areas of low pressure around the aircraft.
