I love it...once you get over the fact that it’s not the same smell as the older Dior Homme line...there’s a very very light hint of the Original Dior Homme...it’s simplicity is due to the well balanced complexity! This will grow on you!!
Dior homme 2020 is AMAZING!!! I love it. I did a little poll amongst friends and coworkers. 27 ppl total. 16 chose DH2020. 9 chose Dior homme intense and 2 ppl were indifferent. It’s so cool cause the scent comes and goes and it’s so comforting and clean.
It's interesting how the community will hate fragrances for not staying current, then hate fragrances that change so they can stay current. It truly is a 100% subjective opinion on what is nice. Personally I can understand why Dior removed the white floral notes from Dior Homme. Guys just aren't really buying flower scents. I never liked it until it changed. I'm sure they changed it up to be more attractive to a larger amount of people.
The rpoblem with that is theyre alienating the core fan base of the fragrance, basically taking a dump in the faces of the people that actually bought the original and kep the money in diors pockets to even be able to come out with this release, not to mention dior snuffing the production of the original like that so the people that enjoy the florals have to go pay double or triple aftermarket, and dont try to tell me dior isnt most likely selling their own stock through aftermarket sites for double the price.
I know it's disheartening to Dior homme fans what they've done.I was never a fan of the Iris note in the original but even I feel it's a great diservice to fans of the line to create a completely new formulation without Iris and use a branding that's synonymous with it . That being said I really enjoy the new version as a work scent. Simple, clean and quiet. Previously I rotated between a few fragrances for work but I've worn Dior homme 2020 exclusively for the past couple weeks and it's really grown on me. I think it will be my signature work scent from now on. I already have 2 bottles. It's not loud but it's a noticable nice clean woody scent. I also think it has a bit of class and sophistication to it that gives it a more serious vibe. Really enjoy it as a work scent and feel that's a perfect application for it.
Obviously, Dior has realized that the lipsticky Iris note is just not popular with the general population through their market research. And it's mother company LVMH is a multibillion-dollar giant which puts more emphasis on revenues than anything else. As such, it's pretty difficult to expect them to cater to the tastes of a small group of enthusiasts. This trend is actually prevalent these days in every other business sector as well. It's just a sign of the times.
Makes sense. Niche and cloners will step in and fill the void since they probably expect less profit and there's still SOME demand for the popular discontinued scent DNAs.
ANOTHER UPDATE: I called Dior customer service (United States) TWICE, and both times they told me that the original Dior Homme EDT is being discontinued as the 2020 is replacing it. I know there is a Dior Homme Original but that one seems to be exclusive to some European countries like France, The United Kingdom Dior website has it listed but it is not available.
Here in Sweden Dior Homme 2020 is in fact a replacement. All the shops around here have been ordered to send back all of their bottles of the old Dior Homme to Dior, so you won't be able to buy them anywhere anymore. I'm glad I managed to snag a couple of the last bottles before they all disappeared... I talked to a Dior representative who also told me that Dior Homme Parfum won't be sold in Sweden anymore, they will only be sold in Paris, Belgium and Luxembourg for some reason. So I got my hands on one of the last bottles of that as well. Dior Homme Intense however is still being sold, and the Dior representative assured me that DHI is in fact NOT being reformulated and that the scent is still the same even though it now also comes in a new bottle design.
Dior Homme Original will be a France exclusive fragrance. I already tried the Dior Homme Sport and the Cologne version "re-branded" and actually... they smell the same as the previous versions 🤔 I don't know what's their strategy, because all this rebranding of the Homme line is quite confusing and uninspiring, but I think this is the end of the innovative, groundbreaking facet of Christian Dior as a fragrance house. Great review, as always!!
Absolutely love your content. I've been collecting fragrances for around a year and I have relied on your expertise quite heavily. Thank you very much for your time and your opinions.

Roderick Moppins I’ll have to Check out Dior website. The 2020 Version has the CD on the cap. As I said all I found in my department store was the new Dior Homme EDT 2020
I happened to be in the Macys store at lunch for their new products line-launch for the store (Chanel, Dior, Montblanc, CH, etc...). I smelled the 2020 version of "Dior - Homme" and fell in love... The fact that it only uses Bergamot for it's citrus note is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. Every other fragrance doubles up on the citrus with varying components and it's just too much for my nose. For me...this is everything BDC is not..or rather BDC without the nose-searing neverending double-citrus top-notes...lol. I have GOT to have this version...it has NO IRIS, 1/2 the Citrus and smells like what I never expected! They finally made a version that fits me!!!
I'm with you here. I LOVE the drydown of BDC EDP, but I just think the incense and double citrus disctract from the beautiful elegant woodiness. This has become my signature scent.
Why has dior done this? Because it was perfume homie. Most regular guys don’t want to smell like a girl. I know you hate me right now, but just sayin. Side note: Watching all the frag nerds lose their minds over not having “homme” labeled perfume has been absolutely hysterical. Happy 2020 Dior fans!🤗
Hi Ash , Dior Homme Parfum also got changed. They switched the bottles to the ones that Dior Homme Intense used pre 2020. They also changed the content from 75ml to 100ml, not sure if they changed the formula too but the main notes that are listed are unchanged. Maybe a idea for a new vid?
IF Dior Homme Original will only be sold in Europe, just order it if you live in US. I order lots of fragrances from US that are not accessible from my country. It will be a bit more in shipping and not that easy to find as now, but the fragrance is accessible for all those who love it so much. No crisis here in my opinion. Most people order their fragrances on internet anyway. One click and you will have Dior Homme Original for years. Anyway, still we do not know anything. The Dior Homme 2011 bottles will be faded out in every store, it is here in Europe too. Those bottles are naturally going out anyway and will be replaced by the DHO bottles (which is similar, but maybe with new stickers, new box etc.)
Dior besides fragrances has also elevated as a brand, look at the number of rappers talking about/wearing Dior(Sauvage is also referenced in a lot of music) they know they can put out anything they want and the general public will eat it up

Why has Dior done this? Well now you know the answer to this Ash! And this one is a fantastic fragrance. I love the opening and mid but that Haitian vetiver in the dry down hmm..I can do without it.
An FYI. Dior Homme Original has an IFRA related reformulation. The 08853/A of the "Pre" version is now 12244/A in the "Original". Butylphenyl Methylpropional aka Lilial has been removed as per a 2019 regulation. Lilial is one of the aroma Aldehydes. As far as I'm aware, this reformulation came in 2018 so it's been around for a while already without too much noise. It's a little curious how many people are comparing the new products with 2011 versions.
UPDATE: I emailed Dior twice and got no response, so I decided to call. The woman who answered my call said that the new Dior Homme 2020 will, in fact, be replacing the original Dior Homme EDT. Doesn't have anything to do with the Privée line. Both lines are money makers. Every major fashion house is making a lot of money from perfume/cosmetics, whereas their clothing lines are not necessarily quite as profitable. The margins of the Privée line are considerably higher by the way
When you become such a mass-market household name it becomes less attractive to take risks and innovate. Time to start looking into hungrier smaller companies.
@@martianprince3299 @John Seven... I disagree. There are collectors who want ALL Versions of fragrances and would gladly pay over $100, especially if no longer available. It only means the Original Formulation will be that much higher in price. There is no ignorance involved what that whatsoever. The after Market will dictate the prices. Sure you will get ignorant buyers, but that goes for everything being sold on this planet. Lukas S will definitely get over $100 for his bottle for sure.
@The Backup Bottle Boss Exactly. When I first heard rumors of a new Dior Homme.. I scooped up two bottles of DHI. I already had two bottles of PARFUM version but only one of DHI. After the first news came out that they got rid of the original DNA for the 2020 version.. I went and scooped up Dior Homme as well. If prices get out of hand in future I'll let one go to cover my costs of all the recent purchases.
What a scam , CD is trying to create a supply and demand ultra selling point. Almost like stock manipulation they are creating a separate market. An exclusive ordering situation where the price will go through the roof for the original fragrance while controlling the flow of the product.
Not totally sure how that works in their benefit Dior? Given fragrance sales is one of the staple money makers for nearly every fashion house. And if they limit supplies solely to Eu shops then only a select few US customers will be able to buy it which in turn will may create a proxy system or more likely ppl will price gouge the US market. I guess this may create hype for them but seems short sighted given the fact that they are simultaneously introducing a new replacement product which will naturally create a backlash. What seems more likely is they looked at their analytics & saw that these don't sell in the US like they do in the US so they decided to keep things the same in the EU while introducing new easy to wear products to the US.
@@quique7764 it doesnt make sense because you are still so naive that you think these companies are doing everything legally. You must have never heard of supreme , have you, genius?? Why have to actually spend money and effort to make large quantities when you can do that at the begininning, get the hype up, slow down production, raise prices which give you a MUCH higher bottom line, lower the quality, and start making bot accounts to sell some of your producta in thw aftermarket, pretty muxh doubling their profit while cutting their overhead in half. My bad though, must be out of your pay grade to think critically. Youre definitely middle or upper class because you have no idea how hustling works.
Hey is Ulta a respectable and reliable source for fragrances? I've seen tons of people say they sell watered down fragrances and someone even had a video of a cologne he bought from there that was counterfeit. He showed the boxes and numbers on the bottom and they did not match.

I seen a new article speaking about how the new round of IFRA regulations the biggest restrictions in a long time,so big that they have 2 years to come into compliance after they come in effect and the whole industry is holding its breath, maybe Dior made this fragrance with that in mind.

hey guys help me out please. so im somewhat new to the frag community. i have never smelled either this new formultion or the old one. would you recommend not even bothering with this new one? i have seen it in a few stores but they of course are not doing samples anymore. please help, like really whats so bad about this new version? thanks.
I really enjoy it. Don't let these people's random opinions sway yours. It is great, the vetiver really stands out and it is crowd pleaser
Is dior homme intense also reformulated?
Still feel like Dior Homme Cologne is the best fresh fragrance ever.
Dior Homme line must be the most confusing I can recall, so many variants and everything looks the same
I just reached out to Dior, I'll keep you posted about their response.
What’s your top 5 Amouage??? Love the reflection man and interlude man
Honestly tho, how long do people think they a re going to have two versions of their pour homme.. I would be very surprised if they planned on having both for a long time...
Don't say it Paulie!
@@GentsScents They already crushed my dreams when they reformulated the original dior homme sport.. I used to love that one for warm weather. Then i got hooked on ideal cologne and that's gone.
lasts and smells great on me. dior is king imo.
many much youtuber QQ.
Dior home 2020 has some powerful Iso-E Super- I took a shower and am now wearing CNIM EDT and i can still smell the Dior Homme 2020 from yesterday lol (Bro did you forget that Terre D'Hermes is full of ISo-E super ? That came out in 2006)
Have you tried the new Dior Homme 2020 parfum ?
DH 2011 renamed DH Original?! Whoa, and it isn't since the original was out in 2005. that one was Version 2.0.
Great review! I wonder why your videos are so dark lately?
Smelling Dior Homme 2020 & Gucci Guilty Love recently had left Ash down.
What year did dior make the silver stem.
2005
I really appreciate the honesty my dude.
Dior needs to sell a ton of mass appealing scents so it can keep making quality Collection Privee frags, it is just simple commerce
Time to start looking into hungrier smaller companies.
should i buy dior edp or parfum
If you see a bottle of Dior Homme Parfum anywhere buy it
i was about to sell my DHI, but thanks to you i will keep it, and sell much later for much bigger price ;) hope
If prices get out of hand in future I'll let one go to cover my costs of all the recent purchases.
silly question...but do fragrances expire?
nate dogeee they do.
@@rolandclou1927 how long do they last?
Love how dramatic the title is.. jeez
Like your presentation, kinda funny 🤣
So it's as different from each other like Spicebomb and Spicebomb night vision, or boss the scent and boss the scent parfume? A Boss the scent parfume review is the only one missing from the mentioned. A huge boss wife rating would be nice too.
Next up: Dior Homme Blue 🤔🤔
Dior Homme Bleu** FTFY.
Dior homme eau Sauvage sport
Dior Homme Flame 😎
Happy birthday Ash!
Dior just made a replacement for Dior Homme sport as well
📝
So I guess I will not be spraying my dior homme intense anytime soon.
Or buy yourself another one?
Intense is here to spray. But next year/later in the year there will probably be and intense version of the homme 2020
For me is the best Dior homme eau for men. So underrated!
I totally agree here. It's my favorite scent for day/office usage
From a business point of view they cant go backwards. they need their fragrances to be mass appealing and sell. anything else is a fail.
Tell Air Jordan that
Bought mine today at macys and got a free nice black manscape bag looks really nice
Not impressed with the new 2020 scent the original was much nicer and lasted longer when wearing it
Smells like Marc Jacobs to me..I love it.
Why can’t I find Dior Homme intense?
It’s on fragrance Net man
I want all you fragrance guys to know.. yall ALL talked me into trading this in at the mall
Dior homme intense has new bottle but its the same fragrance. Dont need to be alarmed.
What is about Dior Homme Intense? I bought one bottle but it has the new Design, is this a new Version or a new fragrance? It has Iris in it.
Checkfresh says also Pruduced in 12/19
I seen a new article speaking about how the new round of IFRA regulations the biggest restrictions in a long time,so big that they have 2 years to come into compliance after they come in effect and the whole industry is holding its breath, maybe Dior made this fragrance with that in mind.
I got the new Dior homme intense and it smells the same as the old dior homme intense although somehow it seems to smell a bit darker and less sweet but that could be just me. The Iris note is still present though.
sander teeuwen because it’s the same , DHI has just been repackaged
Yaki Kadafi i know but people already talk about reformulations while that is not even the case.
