- Huge thanks to WillXProject for sending me that installer!
Hello, my friends! Let's hit 10000 likes? Check out my website! enderman.ch
Today I am going to show you how much malware you can source from a single fake installer. There is a pool of additional offers predetermined for each installer by the advertising company behind the campaign. Let's find out how many titles are in there.

My grandmother is always downloading files like this and every time she does, the laptop fan speeds up and the computer overheats, she’s had three laptops this year already, she ruins the motherboards just by clicking on links that are obviously sketchy to me
OH NO
as a wise Joel said, these viruses are just grandma-bait

Andrew: *YES*
Yeah, I accidentally installed a fake version of chromium once years ago through an "optional software" thing, and it just REFUSED to get off of my laptop. It wasn't really malicious, didn't harm my computer or steal any info, but damn was it annoying to remove. Had to go manually remove it from the hidden files and all.

I remember once finding this fake setup that would install this program that made the colours of the display change often to like hot pink. While doing this it would open the web browser and go to a bunch of random Spanish videos. I don't remember if it did anything else outside of making the resolution be stuck at 800x600. It was cleaned off fairly easily ignoring the resolution issue. The program was inside of a rar inside of another rar file which was password protected.
I sort of wish I could find this program again for you to test. I remember it claimed to be a full cracked version of some program that converted PowerPoint slides to an EXE.
funny how it's actually possible to convert powerpoint slides to exe

@@Real_Eggman Idk why I wanted a Powerpoint in EXE form ether when I had Powerpoint installed, and could have just use Powerpoint Viewer if I really didn't have one.

Rough. Guess you learned your lesson there. I learned that one as well after having to go deep into my registry to delete a lingering file from one of these. It was never outwardly malicious, but I obviously didn't want PUP on my laptop.
@@Nakia11798 my lesson were when i accidentally clicked on a file. My drives were Almost destroyed and i needed to reinstall everything

Love seeing this kind of content - gives a feeling of dread, realising just how malicious these shitty installers really are.
Anything that isnt official has problably a 30% chance (90% chance if its a cracked version of a premium program) of having malware/spyware/adware, In my opinion.
Things like this are like a rabbit hole. You go into one and can't get yourself out of it.

Thanks for using Smash Hit background music! Great video!
Lets go for mini live
Another great Endermen video. I would love to see how to open up a secure VM so I could do something like this myself; its all very interesting but I hear a normal Windows 10 VirtualBox installation isn't safe enough for stuff like this.
Ok
Because you need to do extra hardening.
What if you took a crappy Windows mod and tried to get it as close as possible to normal Windows after installation?
I just noticed the Smash Hit soundtrack in the background. One of the best games made on mobile ever
Why is there this weird nostalgic feeling attached to computer viruses and adware
I’ve actually used winzip before for a short time and that was because I forgot the name of winrar. And god how I hated that program so much. Incredibly difficult to use
This is why I always look for direct downloads instead of installers
but most progrrams use installlers bettter get the msi installlers because they always cant be a fake installer and if you go in the msi file every file of the program is in there you just extract out of it and create folder in programm files and put the extracted files in the folder you created
18:49 I burst out laughing lmaooo
There’s been so many times where I’m installing something and by the end I get some shady program on my computer. From then on I always carefully read everything in the installer to make sure no garbage gets installed

I downloaded a garbage installer accidentally on my old computer when I was 10. Did not have a fun time.
I'm sure we've all been there. I mean, when I was 10, I wasn't installing anything other than the sims lol, but I definitely had my fair share of bad times with frostwire.
10:48 Opera is a really good browser tho
I agree that it still has its usefulness even today with some unique features. It just isn’t nearly as innovative as it used to be in the 1990s / 2000s back before it became a Chrome clone.
But the installer might've installed a fake version of Opera.
In November 2016, it started becoming bad because the original Norwegian owner sold his product to random Chinese people, which made Opera worse.
Everyone: malware bad!
Enderman: malware yes!
Him and SomeOrdinaryGamers for sure.
One of my friends installed a lot of shady stuff and didn't even notice even tho I told him it was malware and was shady, he ended up realising he couldn't unistall it

hi. Which VM-Software are you using for your videos like this one?
Next video idea: "Websites that're too good to be true."
Most tv show streaming sites, bc they're absolutely littered with malicious ads.
I once ended up finding a garbage installer trying to get a mod before I learned what curseforge was. I managed to get lucky and suffer no harm though, I just clicked no to letting it make changes and uninstalled the final program. I forgot where it was though, but if I can find it I'll give it for you to test.

Opera is a pretty good browser. No pups or any ads not even optional installers. It even has an easy to access decently fast VPN adblocker dark mode etc. I also like their UI.
The reason for the VLC Media Player taking so long is that it is downloading every song in existence. Including ones from outside the universe.
I feel like a nice alt title could be "pumping malaware in my PC starting with a single setup for 34 minutes straight"
Walliant is classified as an extremely dangerous trojan horse due to its stealthiness.
i remember back in the my torrenting days people used to put these trash installers inside the torrents. So i had to cancle everything manually
When I was little I thought Steam didn't exist and I was trying to download free games. I plugged in my father's old computer (he gave it to me when I was a kid) in 2019's chrismas. I laughed at the malware i downloaded when i was a pure kid trying to download Serious Sam 1
I have never gotten a optional offer in ccleaner its always just been a splash screen that asks if i wanna upgrade thats in the backround.
Nice video, but I got a question, what do you mean with "miner" in the whole video? And can you do a video how to find a virus, miner, malware or something on your pc?
by miner he means a bitcoin miner
Hey dude idk if you can help me with this but my pc freezes when I start it up and when I open some apps or programs and I need to restart it using the button on the case and then it works. It's kind of a new pc and im worried. Can you help me with this?
Yandex is a common optional installer here too. Perhaps we are kind of close to Russia (not really).

Always an honor to see Yandex as a free offer.

i mean I would trust avg installed from a popup from ccleaner because they're owned by the same company, its not some random ad
i recognise that music anyware its from that one mobile game where you smash through glass right?
can you test inbuilt ransomeware/exploit protection of windows 10/11 ? if it is good enough to prevent newest threats?
This is malware with replay value.
Nice smash hit in the back ground lil
I once tried doing that "fake download button" thingy. It went out TERRIBLE (weird chinese music in bg and a LOT of chinese bloatware), but that's not the point.
The point is that i had this "sender.exe" thingy too there. What could it be, i wonder?

if anyone played the game smash hit that is the Music from stage 1 i just remembered lmaoo
Is there a diff between this version of Windows 10 and the latest version?
I laughed when the second explorer.exe with the yandex logo apeared LMAO
Holy shit, I only started playing some Smash Hit again three days ago, after probably not doing that since 5 years! It was really ahead of its time and hearing the OST here was a incredibly surreal experience.
(Edit: I didn't watch this video before today, 5 days after upload)

2014. 7 years ago... I feel old. Also man, phone games still were great back then. Can Knockdown, that one shadow form thingy, pottery thingy, OG Fruit Ninja, Monument Valley, Running/Falling Fred, DUET, Osmos HD, Spirits, Stupid Zombies, Apparatus etc.)
@JosephBGAndVE2022 No I didn't, young one. :)
Seeing that the audience of this guy is mostly compromised of children, and that you're only 13 yrs yourself, I can't blame you for missing a better time in gaming, but assuming that I 'commented on the wrong video' due to your natural lack of knowledge of the context/experience due to your age (thinking that anyone could've been just five years old when any substantial phone game released boggles my mind) is a vast overshot in confidence - but I wasn't different at your age (well, we didn't use random emojis thirteen years ago), so don't worry, kein Ding, junger Padawan.
But I recommend you to look up Douglas Holmquist's Smash Hit OST on Bandcamp (and maybe check out the game, too - it's great) and you'll understand what I was talking about.
how much malware from fake download buttons and how much malware can you get from youtube are the best videos you've ever done!
off-topic: I'm using BCPE as nearly my own normal Windows 10 environment and everything is smooth af here, it's really fun, but the only issue is program compatability due to SYSTEM user, most stuff works but stuff like Spotify, explorer (I got taskbar working though) and other stuff breaks, it's a cool challenge but the only way to fix the compatability issue is to run as another user, which is really hard for some reason, so maybe I was thinking if you could find a way or something? It's a really fun project and for me gaming is way better here considering my hardware.
Background music from "Smash Hit" is so cool
Damn, your english accent is so freaking good in comparison to other Russians. It is even hard to say that you're from Russia :P Keep doing good job!
I wanna do this for my channel, issue is, can this fudge with my internet if I'm not careful? Should I install them then disconnect my internet before running? How can I be safe?
Never ever imitate these videos unless you have a virtual machine and have the knowledge to configure/properly set up one. You might end up having to reformat your whole system if get infected real bad.
Disconnecting your internet won't help you much. Running the malicious file alone without internet will likely mess up your system and registry files. Worse, you could be hit by ransomware and have all your files encrypted, or a polymorphic file infector could inject its malicious code into your clean files. You may be able to stop certain malware from dropping additional payloads or reaching its C2 servers, but they would still be in your system waiting for you to reconnect.
@@kure1456 so you're saying I should set up a VM on my old crappy pc that still works and has nothing important on ut
@@l1nc6525If you're prepared to lose that PC, by all means go ahead. But still, some types of malware can compromise your router so it is always better to run a VM.
In fact, even VMs are not 100% foolproof as seen with Spectre and Meltdown exploits in past years. Nevertheless, your chances of encountering such zero-day attacks in the wild are close to 0.
