What they did to D. Jordan was something that was specifically created to counter Shaq, the hack-a-Shaq, that is foul a big guy you can't otherwise control and rely on his inability to shoot free throws, Shaq is probably still very irritated when someone uses it because of how they used it against him. To be honest it's kinda cheap and not fun to watch, but if you can't shoot free throws it's also your fault, although some people just can't, knowing Shaq he must practiced his free throws a lot and he was still terrible at it.
Shaq is just a little child. Basketball is a game, and like any other game, strategy plays a part and exploiting weaknesses of an opponent is part of the game. The above poster is wrong about Shaq being the first to have this strategy employed against him. Dennis Rodman is an example of someone who had to deal with this. There are 2 ways to deal with this, you either work on your free throws, or you focus your game elsewhere (ie. defense).

Shaq would not stop arguing against hacking. Basketball is all about exploiting mismatches. It's just like playing off a bad shooter or posting up on a smaller defender. For Jordan/Shaq/Howard their weakness is free throws and teams have a right to attack that.
