The diameter of the 6-high work rolls amounts to approximately in relation to the barrel length. In comparison to a 4-high mill stand, the utilization range is wider. This type of rolling mill is mainly used in offline applications for cold rolling of soft and medium strip and for a wide range of strip widths.
What is a 4 high rolling mill?
A four roll configuration is known as a 4 High Rolling Mill, whereby the work rolls are generally smaller in diameter supported by larger backup rollers. These mill can be used for tighter tolerance output material, and for reducing material to extremely small thicknesses.
Production capacity of the mill = Actual rolling time x Rolling t/hr. If calculation is made with the operating hours in Case I and rolling t/hr in Case C, Production capacity of the mill is as follow.
500 hr/m x 30.8 t/hr = 15,400 T/m As for other cases, production in excess of this value is possible.
The roll pressure, estimated by dividing the roll force/unit width by the projected contact length, varied from a low of 950MPa to a high of 2000MPa, corresponding to reductions of 40-68%.
What is flat rolling process?
Flat rolling is the most basic form of rolling with the starting and ending material having a rectangular cross-section. The material is fed in between two rollers, called working rolls, that rotate in opposite directions.

What is the principle of rolling mill?

Write know is very difficult to rolling silicon steel because of 3.2 mass ℅ , we all company trying to best this type of steel rolling .
In our company also silicon steel is on hit and trial method rolling.
We are controlling all process parameters, like tension, gauge and coolant. Many coils rolled here and keep noted the record. Not at last on final conclusion so when we will on confident then I will provide you this parameters.
