No matter how many times I watch this video, I can't stop myself being amazed when you shift the chords from Am to E7 to Am in the mukhda. I watch that part repeatedly. The barre chord version sounds even better than the open chord version. The last interlude chords are really brilliant to hear. My ears have been blessed!
thanks rohit, this means a lot to me coming from another musician, god bless :) transitioning from a dominant 7th based on the dominant note of the scale to the minor tried on the tonic is always satisfying as it releases a lot of tension when the 7th note of the scale (in this case G#) resolves to the tonic (in this case). if you want to get a stronger tension and resolution, try moving from a dim7 (in this case G#dim7) to Am. check out what i have shown in the lesson at the end using the example from Chand Mera Dil. ua-cam.com/video/Nqs2RyGvGlk/v-deo.html

hi bansdeep, the lesson shows all the chord changes and pretty much chords don't change in the middle of a pattern, except where i showed a quick change from E7 to Am, you could stay with Am if u find that change difficult.

hi saurabh, barre chords take some time, we have all gone through that phase. the guitar construction can also be factor if you are taking a longer time. try thinner gauge strings and either get a guitar with low action (strings closer to fret) or get your guitar bridge adjusted for a lower action. good luck and god bless :)
hi rupesh, i don't do finger picking you can find very good lessons on youtube for that. i do use my fingers to strum but the action is the same as with a pick.
they used the best of both worlds, hindustani raagas for melody, and western ideas for harmonic movements and chords/ RD's team of arrangers were very good with bass lines - check out nahin nahin from jawani diwani - that's a gem for strong bass lines throughout the song!

Sir, in most of your lessons, Plectrum is not used, strumming by fingers only.Pl tell,is it equally possible to play it with plectrum? I try,but fail every time,with plectrum effects are not satisfactory
of course ajay, most people actually use a plectrum to get a clear and strong sound! i used that for many years, and at some point switched to using fingers as i like that better.

hi rupesh, i don't do finger picking you can find very good lessons on youtube for that. i do use my fingers to strum but the action is the same as with a pick.

they used the best of both worlds, hindustani raagas for melody, and western ideas for harmonic movements and chords/ RD's team of arrangers were very good with bass lines - check out nahin nahin from jawani diwani - that's a gem for strong bass lines throughout the song!

Plectrum is not used,
strumming by fingers only.Pl tell,is it equally possible to play it with plectrum? I try,but fail every time,with plectrum
effects are not satisfactory
of course ajay, most people actually use a plectrum to get a clear and strong sound! i used that for many years, and at some point switched to using fingers as i like that better.
