I'm a Vietnam veteran from Detroit,Mi. stationed in Wurzburg, Germany with Eddie Harris's Nephew Rickey Harris, 1969,U.S.ARMY,HE was a ambassador for his uncle's music, just B4 E.H. passed away ( R.I.Paradice )he was coming to Detroit and I was eagerly waiting, but GOD had other plans and booked him in heaven's house band with Les McCann, more and Les!..(R.I.P.)....." trying to keep it real ".... Sadly, Les McCann, one of the greatest, reportedly, passed at the age of 88. Peace be with you, My Dear Nubian Brother. Thanks for the memories. Much Love to you and those that you have touched.
I've been after a decent copy of this concert for decades!! I had a lousy copy (poor sound) and put a few clips of it up on my youtube channel but this is much better sound quality! Many thanks for this 😀
My condolences to One of the worlds Greatest! I had the pleasure of meeting Him in. FLINT MICHIGAN AT THE IMA AUDITORIUM. IN 1959 ON INDUSTRIAL AVE HE WAS Great We have Los a Great Artist! This is a Hard lump to swallow! I Realized that. That This is not our Home we are Just Passing Through! IT still tough Thanks for THE MEMORIES AND (RIP). I'm a Vietnam veteran from Detroit, served in Wurzburg, Germany with Rickey Harris, Eddie's Nephew,Rick I hope you are still above ground my brother! u were the ambassador of ur uncle's music.... Jazz! the way like it...
I saw the show back in 1989 when Berlin still was 'Frontstadt'. I didn't know these guys at all but I was really impressed. So I bought a high quality VHS cassette and asked my brother to record the show when it will rerun the other day in the morning hours. But the recording head of his player was defect. So there was a constant 'peeep' every few seconds. Very annoying. I'm glad, that you put this up!
EDDIE, YOU MAKE EVERYONE ELSE SMILE!

Les McCann - Thank you for your music. I'm playing your vinyl today (ten albums in my pile) and listening on UA-cam. What a career!
It's sad this video has not had AT LEAST a million views!
