Definitely. I think the only reason why Walker fought him instead of Trivette was cause of Chuck Norris's ability to fight with martial arts, making his fights a lot more cooler in another way, and probably one of the reasons why people tuned in to see the show.

The actor that played Langley was actress Juliette Lewis’s Dad Geoffrey Lewis he was in a lot of stuff he was even in an episode of Gunsmoke he had passed away several years ago.
This episode would've been PERFECT if they had Trivette say to Walker after disarming Langley something like "Walker wait, let ME take him." And Walker steps back and replies "Be my guest" with a smile.
Thing I remember about this episode is the way Walker kept calling the sheriff by his full name. Always " Beau Langley " instead of Sheriff Langley or just Langley.
At that moment, Cordell went right after Beau Langley, while Jimmy and C.D. tied up the deputies, stripped them of their badges, service weapons and placed them in the back of Cordell's pickup truck to transport to jail!!!

Geoffrey Lewis could do villainy when the script called for it. He was believable as a corrupt sheriff until he was taken down by Cordell Walker.
He's been a villain a few times. I think he was in an A Team episode as well, and opposite Clint Eastwood in High Plains Drifter.
