Road Pig was one of my favorite figures as a kid and I can not wait until I pick this one up, Thank you for such an early review and all the awesome photo shots at the end of your videos.
I feel it's important to note that Road Pig is neither Bipolar nor schizophrenic. He has Dissociative Identity Disorder (which used to be known as multiple personality disorder). He shares two identities, the well-spoken learned Donald, and the violent Road Pig. The figure though, looks great!
I think for some people he comes off too much of a cartoon, looking action figure. Most people were expecting this menacing muscular bad Max beyond Thunderdome type looking character, but what we got was some pudgy not so menacing, looking character I’m still gonna pick him up, but I was disappointed. I was one of those people that was disappointed, but this one’s all right to.
@@the4thtribe709 honestly I was hoping for a version from DiC series as that's where I saw that character for the first time. But... I still love my Dreadnoks so this is a must have anyway ;)
Making him bigger/chubbier and giving him a pig mask and hook weapon when he never had those before feels like a purposeful nod to Roadhog from Overwatch, which couldn't be more appropriate for someone who's always been known as Road Pig.
D Amazing you’ve knocked it out the park again! The moment I started to watch this video, and saw Road Pig posed in front of that attractive diorama, I knew I wanted him even more than I do already!
That Road Pig is sick! I have one knock on it, and that is the stomach tattoo. I feel it puts all the focus on it, rather than the figure itself. Defiantly picking this one up!! Also, thank you so much for the posing ideas!!
RP has always been one of my favorite OG Joes. This figure is definitely a disappointment for me. Soft face, too fat, the stomach tat is terrible, misplaced tats on his arms, he's missing his proper Mad Max style arm sheild, etc... But I am definitely getting him, and I will be customizing him to look more like he should. 👍 Also, thanks for the early review of this guy!
Thanks for the great video. I was trying to figure out the muzzle, thinking it belonged to Rawkus, But never would of thought it was a mask for Roadpigs's face 👍👏👏👌

RP was one of my favorite GI Joes, so this was a must have! My only gripes are the stomach tattoo, and the face just seems off from what he looks like. He had a bit of a chubby face, but this guy is all muscle. They leaned harder on the Max Max inspiration though, and I LOVE that!
this guy definitely has that road warrior vibe. I have this WWE wrecker truck that I plan to modify and I think roadpig would be perfect to display with it.
I don’t even collect gi Joe but I love the ones that look this cool and also come with so many cool accessories along with that lore in the beginning is so cool
Have it on preorder but I have mixed feelings about this. I’m good with the different body type but depending on the reference art, I think Road Pig sometimes looks like Vinnie Jones and sometimes looks like Brock Lesnar. That head sculpt looks like Rob Riggle as an evangelical preacher of a megachurch going through a mid-life crisis. But Rob Riggle was a Marine so in fairness he’s more badass that he looks (or acts).
I didn't want to like this figure but here we are. Like others you have helped sell me on it. The Mad Max kind of vibe appeals to me and i like the size.
To me this figure looks great. I hate a line where all of the figs are the same size. Hasbro is doing a good job giving us variety. I love all of the accessories that come with him. I'm glad i preordered him.
As a fan of gi joe for many many years. I'm not sold on this road pig. He was one of my favorite back in the day. My issues with this figure is that he's a little too pretty. They should have made his face a little more ugly. Body wise, he needed to be taller and more jacked, he's too chubby, in my opinion. I think they should have model him after Brock Lesnar. I think Brock would make a great road pig in a movie.
I really don't recall any part of the lore where Road Pig was diagnosed with Schizophrenia - It's not on any filecard I read and it's been a while since I read the comics but I don't recall it being a thing. I know Zartan was originally but then Hasbro retconned it because of the negative stigma. Speaking of which, I also can't find the study you mentioned about body odor and mental disorder. The closest would be a 2022 study on how emotional changes affect skin odor. One could infer that it suggests people with psychological disorders would likely emit a different odor more often (under the assumption they experienced more psychological distress than the population mean). The phenomena is not exclusive to people with psychological disorder though and anyone experiencing distress at any time would experience a change. Certainly, people experiencing chronic mental health conditions may struggle with day-to-day living that affects their hygiene but that, again, isn't entirely exclusive to the subject cohort. The other somewhat related study was on a Olfactory Reference Syndrome (ORS) which is a disorder where people become obsessively concerned with their own body odor (thinking they smell). Because it has a delusional symptomology aspect, ORS is often misdiagnosed as Schizophrenia, however, researchers suggest it stems from a co-morbidity of Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). ok, thanks for listening to my TED Talk lol. Figure looks great! The criticism I saw online seems overinflated to me, but people can have their own tastes. Thanks!
i actually have bipolar schizophrenia disorder and not only is what he said bullshit im so offended im not someone that is sensitive to insults but spitting false information like this hits completel;y different. yes certain phycological problems causes cortisol levels to raise but its surely not like he explained ive been a fan of his reviews until now such bullshit
Wasn’t meant to be offensive. It was based on medical articles I’ve read. All i did was state how it could have tied into how Hama would have used it. Hama himself is being on mental well being and awareness. If you happen to take it the wrong way that sucks. If you don’t wanna watch anyone that’s fine and i understand.
I totally get what you are saying all i did was tie together the articles I’ve read with what he has. We have actually come a long way since he debuted in the 80’s and have far more research.
@@DAmazing what the problem is is that it didn't need to be mentioned has nothing to do with reviewing action figures you seem to do this alot lately involving subjects that are not necessary like your personal problems and or issues again keep it within the subject matter that way you don't offend people
@@jasonpatchen1912 I hear you. Unfortunately the broader community's understanding of mental illness is largely informed by lazy journalism that values sensationalism over accuracy, currency and consequence. I've worked in mental health for around 20 years and am no fan of the bio-medical model in general and don't even like using labels like schizophrenia other than when the person I'm working with finds it useful. I hope one day society holds an opinion that normalises experiences such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, mania etc and understands them to be as much an expression of our natural healing process as they are symptoms of distress.
I like the mask and new hammer. I would never pose him without both. At first I would have given him a pass but the pig mask and hammer makes it look cool.
As a person whose worked in the mental health field for nearly two decades, I can say that the correlation between mental health and body odor is a severe overstatement. Most individuals who suffer from mental health issues have likely been exposed to trauma around water (forced bathing) which gives them a fear of bathing. Aside from that, I love this review and figure and look forward to adding him to my collection.
So forcing your kids to take a bath when they come home from outside, causes "trauma"? I could see if the kid was forced to hold their breath underwater, but bathing? Yeah, that doesn't compute.
@@dustindustindontworry-jz8dh when there's another underlying issue, then yes, and by forceful I mean aggressively handling the child and forcing them into the water. Throw a kid in a pool fit the 1st time and they might never learn to swim.

I'm glad they went with this look for Road Pig...he's big, but he's not ripped big like the more popular Mesomorph body type. He's not a bodybuilder aesthetically, but he's still very large, muscular, and powerful. He has a more Endomorph body type, which adds to the variety in the line. For any of you wrestling fans out there, it's like Solo Sakoa's physique compared to Roman Reigns. Solo is big, powerful, muscular, but he naturally holds a little more fat on his frame making him a tad bit softer looking, where with Roman Reign's genetics you can see his muscle heads and striations more clearly. As far as this Classified figure goes, I think I personally would have added a few more expressive wrinkles in his face, especially in the brow region and around the mouth, really pushing the intensity in his eyes, especially on the screaming portrait. Other than that I'll be picking up about 2 or three of these bad boys!
Every time see this Road Pig figures body build all can keep thinking is this would be a perfect body for William “Refrigerator” Perry figure. Just need that white number 72 on his blue jersey with this body and he be good to go.
I love this line but I have little connection to it. To keep myself from spending too much money I just admire it in reviews. After giving it some consideration I could collect just tohe Dreadknocks.
