-Why is your channel called sophdoesnails? I started my Instagram account a couple years before UA-cam, where I did loads of nail art. When I started youtube I wanted to keep the same name so I was easier to find! Nail videos are too difficult to film + I prefer makeup!

I totally get what you said about fake tan! My skin tone is pretty pale and I was fine and absolutely happy with that for 21 years. Then I discovered fake tan and tried it one time to see if I could even do this without looking totally patchy and it worked so well!
When the tan fades and I go back to being a bit paler I feel the same thing as you - I’m kind of feeling more confident or better being a little taned and it totally feels like permanent make up especially on the face ☺️
I still „wear“ my pale skin but when I’m about to go out for a party night I just feel a little bit better/confident in fake tan :)
