Never underestimate the heart of a champion... going to be great tomorrow
Fun! So exciting - amazing to see Mochy w/ a chance to defend the title in match 12 after how this has progressed. See you tomorrow!
Fantastic watch! Thank you.
in the extended analysis after the matches u can scratch any decision when a player is on 100% equity(cubeless).
so that nobody gains more than their fair share of decisions.just a thought for the next one.
great stuff and commentary as always
Waiting for tomorrow :) takk for i dag
Sander just playing...all understood after. ☺️
Lets do thissss……
What is UBC? And please explain the ratings - PR rating? what is that? Thank you
The matches are exiting and fun too watch!
Ultimate Backgammon Championship
The most prestigious skill based GM tournament.
performance rating (PR), which is essentially the number of milipoints (thousandth of a point) difference between the player's average move, and the move deemed best by a computer program called Extreme Gammon.
@@JohnnyWalkerOslo thank you!
Here's Mochy's luck score across the matches so far (spoilers ahead!):
Match 1: -2.52
Match 2: -2.146
Match 3: -1.180
Match 4: -4.692
Match 5: +5.394
Match 6: +5.583
Match 7: +3.399
Match 8: +3.356
Match 9: -3.199
Match 10: -1.603
Match 11: +2.259
Total: +4.65
What is not factored in is PR luck. Very difficult to say which player gets put in trickier spots. Also, in a series of 7 point matches, the number of positive/negative matches is more important that the total luck
Very interesting, and what's Sander's luck score for comparison?
I don't think the total or average luck has any sensible meaning here. I mean you could be at a -2 in 9 games and a +11 in two games which would look like you are at a +4 were in fact you are very unlucky. The median would be a more sensible statistic to look at which seems to be -1.180 according to the numbers you provide.
It’s all over 😭
Sander should just wait for an early mistake from Mochy and then just let the clock run out to secure the PR point
Not an option--for PR purposes, losing on time is the same as a resignation, so it's usually the worst kind of blunder.
1 rule i love in chess-t if you took a figure-you must get a move it!!! Its endless remove on table(if you genius -play in your mind!!!)) 😉 make me (and suppose a opponent to be nervous!!!
I think touch move is a bad idea. When you have a clock why would you care what someone else does on their own time? Even in Chess this makes no sense to me. I'm glad backgammon lets you move the pieces; it also allows viewers to see what they are thinking about which makes it more fun!
Agree! I hate to see when experienced players shuffle a 5-5 around the board, until it magically plays perfectly. I am not saying this happens often, but once is more then enough. We are not rolling the dice with our hands either! I wish we, the backgammon community, could also adept "touch 'n' move" from chess, imho it would be a great upgrade to our beloved game!
holy shitttt
thats a super hard take over the board really everything looks like gammon siliconfish tells us easy take pipcount + 18 hellooo
