- This week on Buckle Up the boys drive the VW's shooting break, the Arteon eHybrid. The Arteon eHybrid is a plug-in hybrid with an electric motor and TSI petrol engine. That means you can drive with zero emissions in e-mode, or combine the combustion engine and electric motor in hybrid mode for maximum boost system power and efficient driving pleasure.

I adore the Arteon Shooting Brake but because I live on the wrong side of the pond, they're not available here. That being said I'm still enjoying my 2019 Arteon SEL Premium R-Line with the APR+ Tune, APR Coil Packs plus a few Maxton Design accessories installed.

Forgive me but why would you not just have a Passat estate?
It's the same interior, better practicality (larger boot and the doesnt have the 'hump' in the floor that the Arteon has when you fold the seats down).
Same engines available in both cars and a lot cheaper. You're paying a lot of money for some looks and arguably less room.
There's no Passat R, but yes you're paying for style and a bit more focus on the driving experience with the Arteon. Arguably if you just want a practical estate on this platform you should get the Skoda Superb.
@@BuckleUpShow Skoda Superb is a fine car, not quite as good looking in my view and some of the features were only available in the top trim level until recently - digital dash was only on the L&K when I looked a year or so ago.
Agreed about the Passat R - 272hp is available on the Superb but I suspect most will go for one of the lesser engines which are available on all 3 cars.
I love my Passat (the B8 is particularly lovely in R Line trim) and would definitely have another.
The Arteon is not on the Passat platform. Its on the Skoda Superb platform.
Actually, it’s on both. It’s on VWs MQB architecture.
Not only are the Passat and Superb on the MBQ architecture but they share the B8 model code because they're incredibly closely related. The Arteon is actually more different to either than they are to each other
And of course we won't be getting it in America. Oh well
